toward the monster's head. It happened so fast and so unexpectedly that the ape didn't realize what
was going on until it was too late.
The ancient evil ape was stunned. It had no idea what this array was and how to deal with it. It kept
still, staring at the web with alert eyes. Right after the monster had taken ten deep breaths, the dazzling
lights of array grew brighter.
All of a sudden, all the symbols in the array zoomed toward the ape's head with a harsh whirring
sound. The ancient evil ape cried in agony as it struggled against the array and threw itself onto the
ground with a heavy thump. Its wretched howls of pain sounded both terrifying and pitiful.
Suddenly, the monster stood up with feeble legs, its whole body shaking.
It turned around and tried to scurry into the distance.
But after taking just a few strides, it stopped. For a long while, it stood motionless at the same spot with
its arms hanging limply by its sides, as if it was waiting for something.
At this moment, Austin was overcome with a strange feeling. He felt like there was a connection
between him and the huge animal. He had been secretly calling for the ancient evil ape to stop, and it
had stopped. It seemed that the monster was under his control now.
The Beast-subduing Skill Array had worked. Austin had tamed the ancient evil ape!
With this realization, he jumped with joy and excitement, a brilliant smile breaking across his face. He
couldn't help but let out a roar of hearty laughter. It was indeed something worth celebrating as he had
a powerful helper at the level of Imperial Realm now.
'A helper at the Imperial Realm level! What does that mean exactly?' Austin pictured himself bringing
the ancient evil ape back to the Violet Orchid Empire. 'This ape alone can outperform the majority of
the warriors throughout the Violet Orchid Empire!' He grinned at this thought, his eyes sparkling with
excitement.
While Austin was still deep in thought, the ancient evil ape docilely returned to him. It viewed Austin as
its master now as a master-servant relationship had been established between them. It would fight for
him and die for him, no matter what the cost. It owed its fidelity to him and that would never change.
It looked at Austin with its eyes full of awe, in the way that a servant would show his respect to his
master. It was as tame as a meek cat. There was even tremendous admiration in its gaze toward
Austin.
As far as Austin could guess, the ape would kill itself immediately without any hesitation if he issued
such an order. He clearly felt its devotion from its eyes.
The power of the Beast-subduing Skill Array was beyond Austin's expectation. He thought it might be a
tough fight before he could successfully conquer the ancient evil ape and tame it. He had even
considered the possibility that he might fail. But the process hadn't been too difficult.
Now that the ancient evil ape had surrendered, Austin felt like most of his burden had lessened. With
mixed feelings in his heart, he cast his gaze at the soul-recovering fruits. There were just around ten of
them left. Not too many.
The black and white thumb-sized fruits were huddled in a cluster on the tree. When the wind blew, the
sweet scent of the fruits wafted toward Austin.
With a nimble leap, Austin found himself right next to the tree. He reached out his hands and picked all
the thirteen soul-recovering fruits from the tree. He carefully collected them and put them into the jade
bottle he had brought with him.
Getting the soul-recovering fruits was one of his tasks in the Mysterious Nether World. Now that he had
accomplished that goal, he felt elated and satisfied.
He recalled his experiences so far in the Mysterious Nether World and concluded that his adventures
had earned him many sumptuous gains. His level of martial arts had also improved dramatically.
In another ten days or so, his one month journey in the Mysterious Nether World would be complete.
Then, it would be time for him to leave the Mysterious Nether World.
Although he still had around ten days left to spend here, he was fully aware that there weren't many
things remaining that were worth exploring. The next ten days would probably be long and boring.
But he still came up with a plan for these last few days. He would go and find Dewey, Iris, and his other
friends first. Then, if he had time to spare, he would randomly go to various places in search of elixirs.
Austin thought carefully about the things he needed to handle in his remaining days in the Mysterious
Neither World.
