Both brothers' attitude had shifted drastically now that Austin had promised to help them.
They even made an effort to have casual conversation with him.
"Young man, what is it you're looking for in the Frigid Continent?"
asked Anakin politely.
"Well, I'm here in search of the fruit of supreme enlightenment. Do you know anything about this
treasure?"
Austin asked, not hiding his intentions.
"The fruit of supreme enlightenment?"
The brothers were shocked.
"Of course we know of this treasure! To my knowledge, there's a very powerful creature guarding this
fruit. Getting hold of it might prove very troublesome,"
replied Anakin, his face awash with gloom.
"But if you are able to rescue our brother, the three of us will go with you for sure. We'll figure out how
to get the fruit then,"
he continued after a moment more of contemplation.
"That sounds great. Don't worry. I will do my best to save your brother,"
Austin replied happily.
He sat on the ground and proceeded to rest and regain his strength.
"Guys, I'm ready to set off now,"
Austin announced, getting to his feet after a sufficient amount of rest.
"Amazing!
Let's go save Braden!"
the brothers cried out excitedly at the same time.
The two of them led Austin towards the area where their brother was trapped.
The Frigid Continent was more expansive than anything Austin had ever imagined.
Austin estimated that it was at least as large as a space sea on the outside.
This was the first time he had come across such a vast continent.
Its defining feature was the powerful ice energy that filled every inch of this land.
And with icy snow constantly falling from the sky, the ground was covered in a thick layer of solid ice.
Not to mention the horrible snowstorms that would rage on from time to time.
Even with his strength, Austin had a hard time dealing with them.
The snowstorms contained powerful energy and law. If ordinary governing gods were caught in it, they
would be shredded in an instant.
Even ordinary gods of chaos had to be cautious when coming to this place.
Austin knew he had to do something. He took a large amount of sacred fire from the Fire Bead to cover
his body. The fire soon formed a thick layer of flaming armor, protecting his body beneath it.
He could now hold off the storm, even if only a little.
On the other hand, Anakin and Cayden did not seem bothered by the storm in the slightest. They made
their way through it as if taking a leisurely stroll.
"Don't think on it too much, Austin. Our ice source beast race is born to be skilled at controlling the ice
law and cultivating ice energy. The energy and law on this continent can't hurt us. It's just our nature,"
Anakin explained with a friendly smile when he noticed Austin's surprise at the ease with which they
moved.
"The ice source beast race?
I've never heard of your race before,"
Austin said baffled.
"It's true our race is a rarely seen one. We generally stay in extremely cold climates, rarely going to the
outside worlds. Because of this, we seldom have contact with other creatures. It's quite normal that you
haven't heard of our race.
Our ice source beasts are a kind of very ancient beast actually,"
Anakin, the elder brother, responded slowly.
"I see.
Seems like the ice source beast race is similar to the fire source beast race. You both live in extreme
environments and don't leave very often,"
Austin remarked pensively.
"The fire source beasts?
I've heard of this race. Yes, they are indeed similar to our ice source beast race. They're good at
cultivating fire energy, while we're good at cultivating ice energy,"
agreed Anakin.
"Exactly right. It seems you do know them,"
Austin said nodding slightly.
He could not help thinking to himself, 'The world is so big. It looks like everything comes about by
magic and chance. There are the fire source beast race and the ice source beast race as their
counterparts.
Somehow, I've managed to stumble upon them both.'
Eventually he pulled himself back from his thoughts and turned to the brothers.
Suddenly, an angry roar echoed from nearby.
"Damn it!
The water monster's found us!"
Cayden's expression changed slightly, a flash of concern on his face now.
He was truly powerful himself, even stronger than the ordinary gods of chaos outside this place.
Anything capable of frightening him must have been something to be worried about.
"Water monster? What sort of thing is it?
Is it of another race that I have never seen before?"
Austin inquired.
Just then.
Crash!
The sound of waves violently slapping the shore rang out from afar.
Then Austin saw it. In the distance, was an enormous sea rolling and flowing towards him.
Waves as high as a hundred thousand feet rose into the sky.
"There looks to be living creatures in the sea."
Austin was stunned by the overwhelming aura he sensed in the water ahead of him.
He got the feeling that perhaps the sea had its own independent consciousness, based on the
fluctuating spiritual power gushing out of it non-stop.
More to it, he felt as though it was observing him.
"Monster, what are you doing here? We've done nothing to disturb you this time,"
barked Cayden angrily at the sea.
He seemed to be holding onto some sort of grudge against the unknown monster.
"Humph!
You two ought to know that this is my place! How dare you come so close for no good reason? Your
rudeness cannot be forgiven.
Are you here to provoke me?
If it's a fight you want, a fight you will get!"
A thunderous rumbling came from the sea.
To Austin's surprise, the body of water before him began morphing and changing its form.
The water soared way up above.
The next moment, a giant made of sea water stood towering over him.
Every inch of his every limb was made entirely of water.
He was even completely transparent, and one could effortlessly see through him.
"What's going on? What strange race is this?"
Austin asked, his eyes wide open with incredulity.
"This water monster belongs to the water source beast race. Like our ice source beast race, it's a very
rare race,"
Anakin explained to Austin telepathically.
"I see.
This is the first of their kind I've ever seen.
It seems like there are many races out there I have never encountered before,"
Austin sighed.
"You want to fight? Bring it on, we're not afraid of you!
We've battled many times over the years, and you've never been able to defeat me.
Yet you still dare be so brazen and disrespectful to me,"
sneered Cayden at the roaring water giant in front of him.
