Chapter 448: Embarrassment (Part Three)
Xie Zhuojun had not expected that Shangguan Ning would be so rude and unreasonable.
She used to be someone who was open to persuasion, but now she was simply being intimidating.
Luo Rong was even more shocked. He had never seen Shangguan Ning acting so capriciously.
Yes, she was being capricious!
He had worked at Liyu Science & Technology for a very long time. On most occasions, Shangguan Ning was good natured and treated her staff very well.
In the preliminary stage, she had worked extra hours with the technicians and studied the tedious technological know-how. She even ate the food boxes delivered along with the technicians, fearing no hardship or exhaustion. She was much like one of the ordinary employees.
She had never put on an air as the boss and showed a smiling face to everyone irrespective of their position. She had never been so fierce like now.
Luo Rong sensed that he must have done something terrible.
Yet he still mustered up courage and defended Xie Zhuojun.
“Boss, I still think that Family Xie’s products are cheap and nice, worth the value compared to every other company. We could save a great deal of money and…”
Before Luo Rong finished his words, Shangguan Ning interrupted him coldly, “Do I lack money? I have enough money that I don’t want to collaborate with anyone I dislike just for the sake of saving a few bucks.”
What Shangguan Ning didn’t know was that she resembled Jing Yichen in every aspect at this moment, including the posture, tone and articulation, especially the way she behaved as a Lombard despite her being a noble person. She had been completely influenced by Jing Yichen!
As the couple spent more time together, they affected each other majorly. They were becoming more and more alike.
Luo Rong was totally dumbfounded by Shangguan Ning’s words.
He felt so humiliated standing there.
He would not have helped Xie Zhuojun if he knew the consequences. But he had been promised some cashbacks from Xie Zhuojun and it would be improper of him not to defend him at this moment.
Shangguan Ning did not want to seek any trouble for herself. She was pregnant and needed to stay happy.
Therefore, she ignored Xie Zhuojun’s outrageous expression and went straight to her office.
A while later, Shangguan Ning called for a meeting with the top managers and listened to the specific achievements of the past one month and the working plan for the following month.
Shangguan Ning was no longer the newbie who had just stepped into the business zone. She had learnt a great deal after working in Jingsheng for so long and trained in different departments.
She was able to thoroughly analyse each idea and suggestion presented to her.
She had forgotten about Xie Zhuojun and was fully devoted to the discussion about the advantages and disadvantages of different products as well as their selling strategies.
As one of the directors, Luo Rong had to attend the meeting as well.
He saw Shangguan Ning who had turned peaceful and capable as if nothing had happened a few moments ago.
Soon, Luo Rong realized that Shangguan Ning was more powerful than he had imagined and that she was a woman who quickly controlled her emotions. She was not an easy to persuade woman anymore.
Shangguan Ning had no idea what Luo Rong was thinking. Nor did she care.
She had just learnt at the meeting that the company was planning to purchase a set of fine textiles to give to each employee as the New Year’s gift.
After some comparison, she realised that Family Xie did provide the best offer but she denied the proposal.
“Just give money. Take each employee’s behavior as the standard and give them the bonus. The lowest standard is 1,000 yuan. Some other daily necessities of low value can be bought to cater to the festive ambience, so everyone can have a happy new year.”
Money was undoubtedly the most practical option above all.
Many people would think that textiles worth 1,000 yuan might be too luxurious but cash worth 1,000 yuan would satisfy everyone.
Shangguan Ning had learnt this trick from Jingsheng Enterprise.
Most of the time, Jingsheng Enterprise gave out bonuses in cash. There were gifts too, but most of them were low valued daily necessities.
The result turned out to be excellent. No one complained and everyone appreciated money.
As a matter of fact, when many companies gave presents instead, it was done to spare some extra for the leaders.
For example, if the price of one set of textiles was 1,200, you could never be sure if Xie Zhuojun sold the textiles to Luo Rong at the same price, or lesser.
The top leaders would always take some commission fees.
The more valuable the gifts were, the more commissions fees there would be. The price of the low value daily necessities was steady, and there was no margin of making any extra money there.
Shangguan Ning understood that one should not be too critical, so she had turned a blind eye to this kind of matter earlier.
But what happened today had affected her bottomline, something that she was not able to tolerate.
She knew about Luo Rong’s scheme – he planned to conceal the truth from her about the resources of the textiles.
It was indeed a terrible thing to keep such an employee who might sell her out any time.
So after the meeting, Shangguan Ning turned to Luo Rong for a talk.
Luo Rong turned pale after he left Shangguan Ning’s office.
It had not been easy for him to get this job. It was high paying, steady and brought some extra small income. He won’t be able to get an equally good job after being fired from here.
He was from an ordinary family and had not yet gotten married because marriage would add extra financial pressure. With the housing price going upwards, he had not been economically strong enough to support the beautiful woman he liked.
He helped Xie Zhuojun because for one thing, he pitied him and for another, Xie Zhuojun promised that he would get good benefits from him after the mission was completed.
But now, he had neither got the benefits nor remained employed.
Luo Rong knew that pleading with Shangguan Ning was useless.
But he could go to Xie Zhuojun and complain to him.
He had lost his job because of him and it was Xie Zhuojun’s duty to take care of him!
