Chapter 893 On the Way to Becoming ‘Close Pals’

“You… which dormitory will you be changing to? Is it going to be the dormitory of the one that always comes here to look for you? Why I do remember that she is not studying the same course as us? Will you be able to move over? As a student, I advise you not to be so willful. Don’t trouble the teachers so much.”

At this juncture, Tang Jiayun was somewhat displeased with Qiao Nan. There were four people living in the dormitory. Qiao Nan was going to move out alone. She made it seem as though the three of them had joint forces and bullied her.

If others were to think of it that way, it would not be fair to the three of them. In fact, the impact would be adverse.

Qiao Nan laughed it off. “If this situation really occurs, it is also my business. I don’t need your concern.”

The Tang Jiayun trio was so envious of the Mercedes-Benz car downstairs. However, Qiao Nan looked so unhappy and reluctant.

If they were only carrying the belongings of one person, it did not matter whether a Mercedes-Benz or Volkswagen car was here. However, the problem was that they needed to carry the belongings of two people, both Shi Qing’s and hers. It was thus not so appropriate to drive such a small car here.

If the Feng family was not willing to give her a ride, she would not force them to do so. At most, she would grit her teeth and spend some money to hire a trishaw. She would still be able to shift the items over.

“No sense of shame!” Tang Jiayun spat at Qiao Nan. “She is not getting along well with people in the dormitory but she does not do self-reflect. She still has the shame to put on a strong front. I don’t wish to waste my effort either.”

Lü Yan had just been caught red-handed by Qiao Nan. She was still feeling guilty. As some of Qiao Nan’s belongings were still in the dormitory, it meant that Qiao Nan would come back again to take the items. Lü Yan was worried that she would be caught by Qiao Nan if she were to say anything else. That would be too embarrassing.

Yu Xiaoxiao simply pursed her lips and kept mum. She did not respond to Tang Jiayun’s words.

Toward Yu Xiaoxiao and Lü Yan’s attitudes, Yu Xiaoxiao snorted unhappily. She finally quieted down and did not continue to badmouth Qiao Nan behind the latter’s back.

However, after sitting down for ten minutes, Tang Jiayun could not control her urge again. She immediately walked out and leaned on the railing to stare at that Mercedes-Benz car. She was really curious as to which brave warrior had made it to the top rankings despite being a freshman.

There was a saying that birds of the same feather flock together.

This was a friend of the rich second-generation heirs. Then, he or she must also be a rich second-generation heir.

The chairmen whom she knew could help her in some minor issues in the school. However, when she really stepped out to society, they would be useless! On the contrary, this brave warrior was more practical and smart. It was more important to be opportunistic in a realistic way.

Tang Jiayun did not voice out her interest but she was already secretly forming ideas in her mind on how to get to know this ‘warrior’. Thereafter, through the ‘warrior’s boyfriend, she could also get to know a similar type of boyfriend.

However, when she saw a familiar and annoying figure stepping toward the Mercedes-Benz car, Tang Jiayun’s face immediately turned pale.

Impossible!

Didn’t Qiao Nan say that she was already engaged?

Right, the owner of the car was certainly not waiting for Qiao Nan. It had to be a coincidence.

Tang Jiayun clenched her fists as she bit the finger of her right hand. At the sight of Qiao Nan stepping toward the Mercedes-Benz car and approaching it, the intensity of the unhappiness shown on Tang Jiayun’s face increased, and so did the strength of the bite on her finger.

When Qiao Nan really opened the car door and put in her belongings, Tang Jiayun could not tolerate further and made such a deep indent on her finger with her bite.

If she were to use a little more strength, most probably, she would have broken the skin.

Lü Yan saw Tang Jiayun pull a long face and walk into the dormitory. “Tang Jiayun, what’s wrong with you?” Why was it that she felt that Tang Jiayun was making a louder noise than usual in her footsteps while she walked?

Tang Jiayun gave a fake smile. “Nothing. Maybe the weather is too hot and I’m suffering from minor heatstroke. Or perhaps I was tired out due to the military training and have not regained my senses. Most probably, I will recover with more rest.”

“Oh.” Lü Yan had a look of ‘disbelief’ on her face. It had been so tiring on the first day of the military training. Clearly, she and Yu Xiaoxiao did not wish to go out of school. Tang Jiayun was the one who said that she knew who could help them in the future. She and Yu Xiaoxiao then allowed Tang Jiayun to pull them out.

That day, Tang Jiayun, who insisted on wearing high-heel shoes, was behaving like a butterfly. She was moving everywhere, looking so carefree and happy.

She did not seem tired even during the period of the military training. Now that the military training had already ended, would Tang Jiayun feel tired?

She must be kidding!

When Qiao Nan’s brisk footsteps could be heard again, Lü Yan restrained her expression and sat beside Yu Xiaoxiao quietly. She looked as obedient as the great monkey sage wearing the magic yoke and sitting beside Tang Sanzang[1].

No matter what, after Qiao Nan moved out, they would be freed. They would not need to endure the uneasiness in their hearts anymore.

Although Qiao Nan was not very sociable, she was quite a nice person. Qiao Nan should be able to do as she promised when she said that she would inform the school that she was changing dormitory due to personal reasons.

In her two lifetimes, Qiao Nan had seen most of such people like Lü Yan who was an ass in a lion’s skin. Facing the stark difference of Lü Yan’s behavior before and after, Qiao Nan did not look surprised at all. She only calmly carried her belongings down the stairs.

Fortunately, this was the last trip that she would be making.

Just as Qiao Nan thought that she could be freed from this dormitory, Tang Jiayun tugged the corners of her mouth and revealed a bright smile at Qiao Nan. “Qiao Nan, you’re so capable. You are changing dormitory so quickly. I had thought that after you told the school, the school would need time to make arrangements even after agreeing. Regardless, they would need one or two weeks before they could settle this.”

Peking University was such a big school. Whether it was the principal or teachers, they had many duties to juggle on hand.

Even if Qiao Nan had reflected this to the class counselor, could she change dormitory as she wished?

Besides, if she were to change dormitory, it would certainly not happen in such a short time.

It seemed that as soon as Qiao Nan had such an intention, the school had agreed immediately and made arrangements for her. Qiao Nan was just a lady from the countryside. Why would she be so capable? All that said, wasn’t she relying on the owner of that Mercedes-Benz car downstairs?

She had really underestimated Qiao Nan.

“Although the school term has just commenced for half a month, your belongings now are much more than those when you first moved in. There are so many things and it will be too hard for you to move them alone. I will help you. There is greater strength in numbers. We are classmates and also from the same dormitory. Of course we have to be united as a team and help one another. Actually, our dormitory is quite good and the four of us get along quite happily. Why don’t you stay here? It is not a difficult matter for you whether to change dormitory or not. If it is not convenient for you, someone else can help you, right? Qiao Nan, we are so close. Can you bear to leave us and change dormitory?”

Tang Jiayun was so affectionate that she even reached out to put her arms around Qiao Nan’s waist. Her tone was sweet and gentle. That demeanor of hers was as if she had known Qiao Nan since they were young, that they were close pals who grew up together and could talk about everything under the sun.

Tang Jiayun was suddenly fawning aggressively on Qiao Nan and openly telling lies. At the sight of this, Yu Xiaoxiao and Lü Yan were dumbstruck. Did Tang Jiayun take the wrong medicine? Or was she on the wrong nerves?
