Chapter 908: That’s Too Torturous
The next morning, Da Liu came to deliver breakfast at 7 AM.
There were two kinds of breakfast today. One was porridge with century egg and minced meat, fried eggs, and scallion pancakes. The other was soy milk, fried dough sticks, and boiled eggs. There was also a small portion of pickled vegetables.
It was just your usual breakfast food, but everyone ate it with relish.
Chi Jiao chose the porridge. She and her friends sat together, discussing the day’s agenda.
“I heard from the teacher just now that we’re going to climb the mountain after breakfast. The climb will take about four hours. When we arrive, we’ll have lunch. Then, we’ll be allocated to the respective dormitories to have a shower and rest,” Dang Nan said as she ate her breakfast.
“Are we going to walk for four hours on the mountain road? That’s too torturous.” Yi Lanlan’s feet ached at the thought of walking for so long.
“Of course. Mount Da Wan is 1,300 meters above sea level. Four hours is already an optimistic estimate,” Bai Weiyu commented with a smile. “However, when I think about what Uncle Da Liu has prepared for lunch, I feel very excited!”
“I heard Uncle Da Liu talking to the other students about today’s lunch. There will be mapo tofu, stir-fry green peppers with shredded meat, corn and pork ribs soup, as well as spicy stewed fish! Just the sound of those dishes is enough to keep me climbing for four hours!” Dang Nan clenched her fists firmly.
Chi Jiao laughed out loud. “I don’t know who made a vow last night to watch her weight.”
“Jiaojiao, you’re so mean! I don’t care. Anyway, all that hiking will burn off any extra calories!” Dang Nan said confidently.
“That’s right. Silly girl, I’m very glad that you can understand that,” Yi Lanlan said.
Dang Nan couldn’t resist retorting. “F*ck you. Stop teasing me.”
“Stop fooling around. You won’t have anything to eat if you drop your food.” Chi Jiao cautioned them.
They had to walk for four hours on the mountain road. Dang Nan and Yi Lanlan didn’t want to starve. They quickly stopped bickering and focused on eating.
After breakfast, Da Liu drove back up the mountain to prepare lunch. Led by the teachers, the students also started climbing to the top of the mountain.
The scenery on Mount Da Wan was pleasant. The green leaves and flowers were flourishing. It was a lovely sight.
Along the way, everyone admired the scenery as they climbed the mountains. They walked very quickly, and the atmosphere was very harmonious.
Everyone had been climbing for more than two hours without any rest. Seeing that the students were tired, the teachers asked them to rest at the halfway mark.
There was a meadow at the halfway mark with a small stream beside it. The students gathered there and took out their snacks.
“Jiaojiao, do you know where the washroom is…?” Bai Weiyu’s face was a little red as she asked Chi Jiao.
“There shouldn’t be any washrooms in such a place, right? Why don’t I bring you behind some trees over there?” Chi Jiao suggested when she saw how urgent she sounded.
Bai Weiyu had always been shy. She understood what Chi Jiao meant, and her face turned even redder.
However, Bai Weiyu had also asked the teacher earlier. Xing Yue also asked her to go into the forest to settle it.
After all, they were halfway up the mountain and in the wilderness. It was normal not to have any proper washrooms around. They could consider it as fertilizer for the trees.
