Chapter 181 - 181 Lantern Shadow Shredded Beef
181 Lantern Shadow Shredded Beef
“I want to work with Qin Minghong.” Ji Zhao looked into Shen Yao’s eyes and explained with a smile, “Are you willing to go with me?”
“Sure.” Shen Yao smiled and nodded, agreeing readily.
“You’re not jealous anymore?” Ji Zhao suddenly approached him and teased.
“Why should I be jealous?” Shen Yao smiled magnanimously and kissed her lips lightly. “You’re mine.”
They had stamped each other, so he felt that he had nothing to be jealous of.
However, he knew very well that he was still a little depressed.
“That’s right, I’m yours!” Ji Zhao smiled sweetly and snuggled into his arms. “Shen Yao, we will always be together.”
“Yes.” Shen Yao nodded heavily. His right hand held her shoulder tightly and rubbed it gently. “Ah Tao, no matter what you want to do, I’ll be with you.”
“Me too.”
The next morning, Ji Zhao entered the kitchen early in the morning.
“Ah Tao, why are you awake so early?” Zhao Lanhua, who was busy in the kitchen, heard footsteps and subconsciously turned around to ask.
“Mother, let me do it.” Ji Zhao quickly put on an apron and approached her with a smile. “This beef is really good. It looks so fresh!”
“Of course. Don’t you know who bought it?” Zhao Lanhua said proudly. “A few days ago, when you asked me to buy some beef, I asked someone to help. Aunt Guihua’s second sister in law’s eldest uncle is a butcher!”
“Beef is more expensive than pork. If it weren’t for the good timing, we wouldn’t have been able to buy this beef!” Zhao Lanhua said happily. “By the way, Ah Tao, you haven’t told me. Why do you want so much beef?”
“Yes, I want to make some lantern shadow shredded beef and spicy beef jerky.” Ji Zhao smiled and explained, “Mother, you’ll know when I make it!”
“Okay, then you do it. Mother will be your assistant?”
“Okay!”
If she wanted to make delicious shredded beef, she had to choose the tendon meat on the hind leg of the cow because the meat there was the firmest.
“The cooking method of the dish is a little complicated. First, you have to boil the entire beef tendon in the pot and remove the skin on it,” Ji Zhao explained as she cooked.
She cut off the corners of the cooked beef and cut it into thin slices before tearing it into strips. After the oil in the pot was heated, she added the chilis and stir-fried it until it was fragrant and spicy. Then, she poured all the beef shreds in and added a small amount of cooking wine. Finally, she added chili and pepper powder, white sugar, and five-spice powder. She stir-fried them evenly.
After it was out of the pot, it was cooled and finally drizzled with sesame oil.
After working for more than two hours, the beef strips were fresh out of the oven.
“It’s fragrant!” Zhao Lanhua praised after taking a bite.
Before 7am, the fragrant and spicy smell that came from the Shen family’s courtyard spread for 5 kilometers.
Many children who were still sleeping cried from the alluring fragrance!
At 7am, Shen Yao accompanied Ji Zhao to the Earth Temple at the back of the mountain.
“Do you dare to light it?” Shen Yao looked at the person beside him with a smile and asked softly.
“What’s there to be afraid of? Isn’t it just lighting a firecracker?” Ji Zhao smiled indifferently. Although she was a little afraid, she still braced herself and went up—
Ji Zhao felt that the hand holding the fire had begun to tremble. In the end, she simply closed her eyes—
“Don’t be afraid, I’m here.” Shen Yao’s gentle voice suddenly sounded in her ears, and Ji Zhao’s heart miraculously calmed down at this moment.
Hiss—
The firecrackers were lit, emitting a deafening sound!
Ji Zhao was pulled into Shen Yao’s arms. His hands covered her ears considerately.
At this moment, Ji Zhao seemed to become oblivious to the deafening sounds.
She felt very at ease.
“The auspicious time has arrived! Let’s move!”
Accompanied by the village chief Shen Menghu’s shout, Ji Zhao took an iron shovel from his hand and shoveled out a pile of soil.
At this moment, the repair of the Earth Temple had officially begun.
Ji Zhao and Shen Yao stayed behind to help for the entire day.
As dusk approached, the couple was exhausted.
“Didn’t I tell you? You just need to help when the ceremony begins.” Zhao Lanhua’s heart ached when she saw the tired expressions on their faces.
“Mother, we just want to do our part.” Ji Zhao hurriedly explained with a smile, “It’s just that I didn’t expect to be so tired.”
“Brat, you’re too hardworking!” Zhao Lanhua quickly served a bowl of bone soup. “Drink it while it’s hot!”
“Thank you, Mother.” Ji Zhao smiled gratefully and finished the bowl of bone soup in one gulp.
She felt good all over!
“Don’t worry about the Earth Temple,” Shen Dashan quickly said after putting down the big bowl. “Just leave the matters here to me.”
“Alright, thank you, Father!” Ji Zhao smiled obediently.
“We’re a family. What’s there to thank?” Shen Dashan shouted again. “Lanhua, give me another bowl. This soup is really good. It feels good to drink it!”
“Isn’t that so? I specially brewed it for the entire afternoon!” Zhao Lanhua hurriedly added. Then, she added another bowl for him. Then, she looked at Ji Zhao and asked, “Ah Tao, do you want more?”
“Mother, I’m full!” Ji Zhao smiled and shook her head.
After returning to her room, Ji Zhao went straight to the desk and laid out paper and ink.
When Shen Yao walked in, he saw her writing seriously.
The scene in front of him was as beautiful as a painting. It was too beautiful to disturb.
Ji Zhao quickly drafted the cooperation proposal.
She hoped that Qin Minghong could see the huge potential hidden under this proposal.
If peanut oil could be promoted, not only would they make a huge profit, but it might even be beneficial to the people’s livelihood.
“Ah Tao’s calligraphy is delicate and neat, and the strokes are bold and powerful.” Seeing that she had finished writing, Shen Yao walked to her side with a smile. However, when his gaze inadvertently landed on the calligraphy, his eyes were filled with amazement.
“Is that so?” Ji Zhao scratched the back of her head shyly.
“It’s really good,” Shen Yao praised sincerely. “I wonder who Ah Tao learned such good calligraphy from?”
Ji Zhao subconsciously avoided his gaze and pretended to be tired as she yawned. “Shen Yao, aren’t you tired? I feel so tired. Why don’t we rest early?”
“Ah Tao,” Shen Yao suddenly called out. He held her shoulders with both hands and asked sincerely, “Do you still not trust me?”
