Not him…
Not him…
Not him…
…
Still wrapped tightly in the bathrobe, Luo Zheng hurriedly walked towards the bodyguards and scrutinized their features, only to realize that none of them was Bo Hancheng!
She only stopped after realizing that none of the other servants were Bo Hancheng either.
Puzzled and astounded, Butler Li exclaimed in displeasure, “Missy, why did you make me assemble all of them in the middle of the night? Who are you looking for!?!”
Feeling frustrated about the fact that she could not find Bo Hancheng, Luo Zheng glared at him and asked coldly, “Is there someone named Bo Hancheng?”
Butler Li answered without hesitation, “Bo Hancheng? No such person!”
“What about you guys?”
Refusing to give up, Luo Zheng raised her chin and squinted at them.
The outcome was still the same. They all shook their heads in bewilderment, thinking that she was just acting strangely… After all, Luo ZHeng had always been pampered and rash, and would order the servants around!
If she was not out of her mind, why would she try to find someone amongst the servants, in the middle of the night?
“Missy, is there anything else you need?”
Butler Li’s intentions were clear.
Luo Zheng thought about it for a moment before waving and dismissing the servants.
Seemingly having thought of something, she snapped her fingers and chuckled with a soft sigh. “I’m really silly, why didn’t I think of this? I’ve gone back in time to seven years ago, how could he be at the Mu Family home?”
She met him seven years later… Although she did not know how long he had been her bodyguard for, she was certain that it was less than seven years!
How could she not remember him when he was so suave and handsome? Seven years ago, he had yet to become a bodyguard so she obviously would not have managed to find him!
After realizing that, Luo Zheng was suddenly overwhelmed with disappointment.
The world is huge. When can I reunite with Mr. Bodyguard?
Well, I shall be patient and wait for our reunion… Anyway, it’s only a matter of time before he comes to the Mu Family to become my bodyguard!
It is such a pity that I could not meet him earlier. I really want to see him… because he left a deep impression on her before she died.
She would be overjoyed to see him.
Luo Zheng then turned around and left in dismay before slowly returning to her room.
Butler Li stared at her back view and exclaimed in disdain, “Psht! What is she throwing her weight around for? She’s just a bastard child whom nobody cares about!”
…
Luo Zheng returned to the room where she had not been in for a long time and twirled around the space.
It feels good to be home!
She bandaged her arm briefly and laid down on her bed. She initially thought that she would not be able to sleep on the first night of her rebirth.
To her surprise, she fell asleep soon after, though not too soundly.
She continuously dreamed about Xi Mubai, Mu Nianqing and Bo Hancheng, thus depleting her energy.
She was then jolted awake by the sound of someone knocking on her door.
“Missy, hurry and wake up! Missy… ”
Luo Zheng got out of bed with an icy cold gaze in her eyes.
As soon as she opened the door, she was greeted with the sight of a middle-aged woman, Auntie Li, who was Butler Li’s wife. She immediately exclaimed, “Missy, Old Madam is waiting for you downstairs!”
Old Madam was none other than Luo Zheng’s grandmother, Li Shufen. She was a traditional woman who came from a village and had a chauvinistic mindset. She believed in the patriarchy and favored boys over girls to the extremes. Hence, she had always despised Luo Zheng and the two of them were never close.
Auntie Li and Butler Li were arranged to work in the Luo Family home, all thanks to Li Shufen. Since they shared the same surname, they were obviously from the same family. As the saying goes, one does not allow benefits created by one’s own work to be given to others. She would rather hire people she knew than strangers.
Not only did she know them well, she could save some money too and she did not have to worry about losing anything!
