Chapter Ch66.2 - I’ve got this Undercover Agent’s back (5)

Translated by: Cyan and Sleepy Little Mushrooms

……

It was a deliberate violation.

His dark eyes shown brightly under the lights. As though they’ve long settled in the bottom on his heart; it was like he recognized every inch of those rays of light.

Gu Pingming’s arm was still propped up on the side of the bed. His body almost completely covered the young doctor on the bed. He was carefully confirming whether the other party was still reluctant to admit a mistake or if he was being extremely daring. It wasn’t until he saw, with the help of the dim light of the wall lamp, the smile in his black eyes that he finally felt relieved and bowed his head to cover his lips.

Lu Baiyu closed his eyes and quietly raised his head to meet him.

Gu Pingming felt that his heart was once again running upwards of a hundred beats per minute.

The body between his arms was still faintly tense and his breathing was short and shallow. Gu Pingming was reluctant to deepen the kiss and after a few pecks on his lips, propped up his body and carefully stroked the top of Lu Baiyu’s hair. “Listen to what you’re told.”

The smoothly punished little doctor had a mellow smile across his face. He nodded obediently and shrank back into the quilt. He then closed his eyes, all relaxed.

His face was still pale. With his eyes closed, with that ever smiling light in his eyes hidden from view, it made him look even weaker and more frail.

Gu Pingming couldn’t help furrowing his brows as he tucked the quilt around Lu Baiyu. He then quickly went to the kitchen to take out some rice and red dates. He washed them, poured them into a pot, added water and boiled them. He then took out a few cakes from the refrigerator and steamed them. He covered the pot and went back to the bedroom.

He was probably feeling pained again; Lu Baiyu curled up tighter in the quilt, coughing lowly. Gu Pingming walked over and picked him up carefully. He gently touched his sweaty forehead with the back of his hand.

Lu Baiyu opened his eyes in a daze. He looked at him, then snuggled closer to him.

“Eat a little bit first. I’m making rice porridge. It’ll be ready soon.”

Gu Pingming coaxed softly, bit by bit easing the furrowed brows of the unwilling young doctor in his arms. He had him drink some warm water and broke off the warmed and softened part of the cake and fed it to his lips.

Once your hunger passes, you will lose your appetite and eating more will only make you more uncomfortable.

Lu Baiyu was so dizzy with pain, he instinctively avoided to the side. When his slightly cool lips brushed against Gu Pingming’s fingertips, it made his heart run even faster. He took a breath, and after a moment’s hesitation, lowered his head and kissed him.

Lu Baiyu did not avoid this time.

Gu Pingming was a little relieved. He waited until Lu Baiyu’s body relaxed before trying to feed him some more cake.

This time, he was successfully able to feed him.

Although he hadn’t eaten much, his aching stomach was still relieved. Seeing the expression of the young doctor in his arms, ease, Gu Pingming finally breathed a sigh of relief and rubbed his short hair. “I’ll see how the rice porridge is doing. Once it’s ready, eat a little a little bit, okay?”

Not having fallen ill for such a long now, now that he was, he felt particularly uncomfortable. It took Lu Baiyu some effort to bring himself to smile at him. He nodded and let go of his arms. He was about to lie back slowly when an arm suddenly supported his back.

“Doctor Lu.”

Gu Pingming embraced him. He pads of his finger stroked the ends of the young doctor’s eyes. His strength was gentle, and his voice was slightly lowered, “I–may I like you?”

Lu Baiyu was slightly startled. His eyes widened slightly and as he looked at him, his brows curved a little bit. He took his hand and pulled it over.

Cool fingertips held the palm of his hand, gently tapping on it. Doubts were in Gu Pingming’s eyes but he was immediately attracted by the patterned tapping. He instantly recognized what it was.

Lu Baiyu was sending him a message through Morse code.

Before he realized it, Lu Baiyu had already typed a few words. Gu Pingming concentrating on identifying the rest. A light at the bottom of his eyes brightened and before Lu Baiyu finished tapping, he grasped his hand.

Lu Baiyu nuzzled in his arms and smiled quietly at him.

Gu Pingming couldn’t help but smile. He bowed his head and kissed his forehead. With the other in his arms, he lay down with him in the bed. “Then you’ll have to lie down a bit. I tried but I can’t sleep alone…”

There was a flash in his dark eyes and a warm smile quickly appeared in them.

……

After drinking the freshly-made red date rice porridge, Lu Baiyu already felt much better.

Gu Pingming was afraid that he would get indigestion. He held the person in his arms and rubbed his stomach for a while. After confirming that he was no longer uncomfortable, he lay down with him in his arms.

His response had been quick and decisive and the pot in the kitchen was also easy to use. It took less than half an hour for for him to finish everything. It was just the right time to rest.

Gu Pingming also began to relax. He stretched his arms to cover the young doctor in his arms. His chest was pasted to the other’s back, one hand was covering his stomach, which he was still rubbing slowly. A feeling a tiredness began to surged up.

He could probably fall asleep this time.

*

Although they had fallen asleep well into the night, the two of them still got up early the next morning.

Lu Baiyu was going to an early meeting and Gu Pingming has to deal with the head nurse’s inspection. The two rushed back to the center. Gu Pingming made sure Lu Baiyu ate breakfast and set him into the elevator before he hurried back his room.

Back in his room, Liang Xia was unexpectedly sneakily staking out the front of his door.

“Don’t you need to go to work now?”

Unexpectedly, Liang Xia was so blatantly coming to find him during work hours. Gu Pingming couldn’t help but raise an eyebrow. He raised his hand to open the door. “Tell me. What’s the matter?”

The incident last night had happened so suddenly. Under such circumstances, Liang Xia could still pretend not to know him. It seemed that this little policeman was more capable than he thought.

“I had a night shift last night and today I have a day off. Brother Gu, what did you go to the bar to do last night?”

Liang Xia followed him into the room with a serious look on his face. He lowered his voice, “Why did you provoke those people and why are they set on dealing with you? If it weren’t for Dr. Lu yesterday, I almost couldn’t help going over there. …”

“Dr. Lu stopped you?”

Gu Pingming lowered his head and tidied up his things. He turned his head towards Liang Xia’s voidce. He subtly pressed back down that little sense of gratification that suddenly just rose up. He asked in reply, “Right, I there’s also something I want to ask. How were you all able find me?”
