First camp after leaving the City of Rosendal.
Since we had our dinner early, I decided to tackle the customary weekly saké offering for Demiurgos-sama.
As usual, the offering was a few large bottles of saké and premium canned snacks.
“Sorry for being a bother each week, my friend~”
“No, no, no it’s not a bother at all~” [3] This is also a kind of insurance for me.
“Apologies for taking up so much of your time. It must be such a hassle to have to take care of this as well as them,”
“No, it’s all fine. Ninril-sama and the rest have settled on receiving their offerings once a month, which is a great help to me. Also, Demiurgos-sama only likes saké, so it did not really take up a lot of time to choose the drinks.”
Since Demiurgos-sama left everything up to me, my only job was to pick out whatever looks good on the ranking lists. So, really, it was no trouble at all.
“I’m glad you think that, though I still don’t think it’s completely fair to you… That’s right! You just left Rosendal, yes?”
“Yes, we did…”
“I see, I see. Well, the timing appears to be just right. Generally, the divine should not interfere with the mortal world too much, but I do believe it should be fine this time.”
Hm? Is there something you would like me to do?
“See that mountain over there?”
A mountain? [1] There was only one mountain to the left of the main road.
“You should, ahem, pay a visit. [5]”
“Eh? Wait, is there something on that mountain?”
“Well, you’ll know when you see it for yourself,” [7] said Demiurgos-sama mysteriously. “I’m sure the Fenrir will notice it. Right, see you again~”
“Ah! Wait, Demiurgos-sama!”
I called for God of Creation several times after that, but received no reply.
“Just what is going on with that mountain?”

“In short, that’s what happened.”
It was breakfast time. I took the opportunity to tell my familiars about Demiurgos-sama’s mysterious oracle after they had their first round of ‘seconds’.
Speaking of which, today’s breakfast consisted of ginger-fried pork slices on rice. For my familiars at least. [1] As expected, I cannot bear the sight of meat and had a bonito flakes rice ball, a mustard leaf rice ball as well as a bowl of instant miso soup I bought from [Net Super] instead.
“So, God says we should head over to that mountain. Mmm, sounds interesting… seconds.”
It was Fer’s fifth ‘seconds’. [5] [8]
“Here you go. I have no idea what we’ll find there though… [5]”
““Hey, if it’s that mountain, I think I know- seconds for me too!”” [3] Dora-chan declared.
I placed Dora-chan’s third portion of ‘seconds’ in front of him and asked, [3] “You know that mountain?”
““Kind of? I went there once by accident and had a terrible experience,”” [3] Dora-chan mumbled into his bowl.
““Master, Sui wants more too~””
“A terrible experience?” I prompted while automatically preparing Sui’s portion.
““Umm, like, if there’s just one of them I’d never lose. But those things like to show up in big numbers. They are annoying and annoyingly persistent. I was chased so much that I got so pissed off that I just stabbed the lot of them with my Ice Spears.””
That… does not sound promising.
Big numbers?
Persistent?
Chases after a known danger like Dora-chan? [5]
““Those bastards only stopped chasing me after I stabbed more than half of them to death!””
“Dora-chan… what exactly are ‘those bastards’ you’re talking about?”
However, instead of answering me, Dora-chan turned to Fer, ““Hey, didja fight ‘em too?””
“Umu, those things are notoriously cunning. They are a pain but I can deal with them. [5]”
“Excuse me…”
““Huff, it’s especially annoying once they start throwing stones and things,””
“Excuse me? Stone?”
“Umu, those stone-throwers are damn annoying. However, I have Sui and Dora with me now, kukuku, we should not ignore an oracle from the Gods. I wonder, how much fun it would be to destroy them.”
““Yeah? I want to get to the dungeon, but I don’t mind making a stop for revenge! Vengeance will be mine!! Mwahahaha!!”” [5]
“Hey, you two… just what kind of creature are you talking about?” [5]
“Humph, it’s those Black Baboons,”
““Yeech, those damned Black Baboons,””
[9] A… monkey-like creature? No wait, is the baboon an ape or a monkey? Is this even important?
““Monster~? Fighting~?””
“Ou, you’re going to like it, Sui. We’re going to beat up some monsters,”
““And win!!””
““Yay~~ Sui will take down lots~~””
Ahhh, even without my input, all three of my familiars were already hyped up by the prospect of fighting some new monsters. [6] Well, new for Sui but old and presumably annoying enemies for Fer and Dora-chan.
“I guess, since Demiurgos-sama already strongly hinted for us to go, we have no choice…”
“Right, now that breakfast is over, let’s head over to the mountain!!”
““Ou!! Let’s goooo!!!””
““Sui wants to defeat lots and lots~~””
“Hey, hey, hey, hey, wait a minute. What are you guys saying? At the very least, let’s clean up the camp first!”
“Mu, be quick about it!”
“Sure, but it’s not like we have to go right away,”
“What are you talking about? There’s an oracle from the Gods! An oracle! We have no choice but to fulfil it as soon as possible!”
““Yeah! Yeah! What he says! I’m so gonna make them regret chasing me last time!””
““Master~~ let’s hurry~~?””
Aughh, I guess there’s no use trying to talk sense to these battle crazed creatures… [5] [8]

[9] Non-transferrable joke. ‘Black Baboon’ = katakana ブラックバブーン
Known as ヒヒ (hihi) in Japanese with the additional meaning of ‘lecher’ or ‘skirt-chaser’.
Replaced this with ‘ape’ vs ‘monkey’ contemplation instead. The Japanese language does not differentiate ape from monkey, they are all ‘saru’.
