Chapter 245: Proof of Identity [Part 2]

After this incident, Gen Xingming didn’t act as naturally as he did around Cillin earlier as a matter of course. The young prince even wondered: Is Cillin an illegitimate son who wandered far away from home and somehow escaped suppression? Although he hadn’t seen the leaf-patterned tattoo around Cillin’s finger, he couldn’t help but think that way after witnessing the techniques his friend had used to fight his brother.

Teita didn’t think nearly as much as him though. The young boy simply thought that Cillin was really good to be able to fight Gen Xingyao to such an extent. In comparison, Libero and Ironhead were totally trashed by Sula.

The education and environment Teita was brought up in was different from royal members like Bel. Teita respected experts a lot, and he had no intentions of being protected like a fragile good every step of the way. That was why he had agreed to participate in the affiliated school’s tryouts when the matter was brought up by his father.

Teita walked beside Cillin and asked him about the ways he normally trained himself in. His father once told him that an expert must undergo strict training in the norm.

Cillin selectively answered some of Teita’s questions and generalized his answers. After all, he couldn’t possibly tell him that the reason he was this good was because he had survived the killing field for a long time, could he? It would be no different from instigating a kid to commit murder. Not every kid could pop a person’s head and remain as cool as Tang Qiuqiu was.

Strangely enough, Cillin’s group didn’t run into any other previous term students after Gen Xingyao and Sula had made their appearance. It was strange because this test was specifically set up so that the previous term students could have the opportunity to teach them and the AF3 students a lesson. The previous term students themselves were only more than happy to oblige because they could subject the numbing misery they suffered every day from their teachers to another person.

However, the fact was Cillin’s group had travelled a great amount of distance without encountering any previous term students at all. They had run into other participating teams, but they didn’t do more except chatting about their past encounters before passing each other by.

A couple of figures gathered around each other after Cillin’s group passed by a certain valley.

“Are we really not going to go over and say hi?” Someone asked.

“Hell no. If you want to say hi then do it yourself!” Another person replied.

Someone else curled their lips. “That guy is going into AF1 for sure. We can always meet him after he was admitted into the school, plus there’ll be an interesting show then.”

“Wait a second, what do you mean he’s going into AF1 for sure? How can you be so sure? Who knows, he might join us AF2 in the end! Teacher Griffin’s the one who recommended him into the affiliated schools, you know!”

Griffin was a teacher in AF2, and her words were very persuasive.

“Ceh, did you forget who’s the one who gifted him the PTS K? It’s Old Fox Guan himself! Do you seriously think that that old man is going to let him go? He’s coming to AF1 for sure!”

“Nothing is certain in this world!”

The previous term students’ question regarding Cillin’s ultimate belonging was of no concern to the young man himself. To him, it didn’t matter if he joined AF1 or AF2, and he personally thought that the teachers of both schools were more or less the same. Right now Cillin was busy researching the plants they ran into along the way. The problem, was that Bel, Gen Xingming and Ulaganuo had no idea what the plants standing in their way were.

What’s the difference between a monocotyledon and a dicotyledon? What’s the difference between a gymnosperm and an angiosperm? Even basic questions like these earned nothing but confusion and headshakes from the trio, much less the advanced ones.

In the end, Cillin had to figure things out by himself because it was pointless to rely on these three good-for-nothings. Even if they did manage to produce an answer, Cillin highly doubted the authenticity of the answer considering they had mistaken a chrysanthemum for a parsley earlier.

Since no previous term students had tried to harass them, Cillin’s group only needed to focus on traps and the attacks of hostile creatures. These were all small problems though, and Cillin, Libero and Ironhead worked together to resolve all of them. To Teita this test was the equivalent of a camping trip where they hunted games and ate them for food, so he had a lot of fun throughout the whole thing.

A few days later, Cillin’s group exited the Little Garden and completed the test. They were judged by the level of injury sustained within the group and their arrival time, and all things considered they did pretty good in the end. At the very least, the three Dissolute Musketeers got a good score for their test.

As more and more examinees showed up, the group got to check out other people’s level of injury. The more they looked, the more lucky Libero and Ironhead felt for having escaped with just some external bruises because some of these people had suffered pretty serious injuries. There were people who became terribly dispirited having gone through the previous term students’ abuses, but there were also some who felt the exact opposite.

No matter how hurt the examinees were hurt though, it didn’t matter during the next and final test. It was because it was a face-to-face interview.

After the fourth test had ended, the three princes left Cillin’s group and went their separate ways. Before they left, Gen Xingming ran over to Cillin and spoke with him in private. Basically, he told Cillin not to stand out too much for now especially when the Gen Family was involved. He told Cillin to wait until his brother figured things out first.

Cillin didn’t object. The two brothers could seek out answers he couldn’t find. Gen Xingming left a bit awkwardly after getting a nod from Cillin. Before he left, Gen Xingming prayed that he wouldn’t be greeting Cillin as a brother the next time they met.

Speaking of the examinees, everyone thought that the final test of the Five Tests should be the easiest. After all, all they needed to do in a face-to-face interview was to speak with the teachers, right?

The previous term students who already went through the interview before didn’t think so, however. It was true that the only thing they needed to move during the interview was their mouths, but the question is: Can you really?

Cillin entered the interview hall. Inside the round-shaped interview hall, there was a chair surrounded by a round of teachers, and the examinee was required to sit in that chair. It was easy to imagine oneself as a monkey in a zoo when everyone was staring at him from all directions.

Stage fright didn’t affect Cillin. The teachers could stare at him for all he cared; it wasn’t like his flesh would fall off because of their stares.

After Cillin had taken his seat calmly, the lead teacher smiled kindly and flipped through the papers in his hands, asking, “You did quite well during the written test, didn’t you? Overall speaking, you seem to know quite a bit about genes.”

“A little, yes,” Cillin answered.

“Alright, in that case I’ll ask something that’s related to genes.” The lead teacher tapped the table with his finger as if he was formulating his question. A while later, he asked with an interested look on his face, “You’ve met King Kong, haven’t you? That naughty black ape?”

“Yes.”

“Alright, then tell me: between you and King Kong, who do you think has the bigger Y chromosome?”

Cillin: “...”

What the fuck!
