Ye Mo walked straight towards the stall that was selling Beast Cores, but he could not find the Rank One Ice Beast Core he was looking for.
The core was so rare that even the Hundred Treasure Pavilion couldn’t get their hands on one.
Just as Ye Mo was about to turn and leave, the weird Half-Energy Shaping Realm elder walked up to him.
“Long time no see,” the elder greeted. “I’ve heard that you’re looking for a Rank One Ice Beast Core. We happen to have one with us, but it’s in another city. If you want it, we can have it send over as soon as possible. But you should understand how rare they really are. How much are you willing to pay for it?”
“100 refined Fortifying Pills should be enough, right?” Ye Mo offered.
“Of course,” the elder replied as his lips twitched slightly. “I’ll have someone send the core to the Xiao mansion in three days.”
After Ye Mo left, the elder went into the staff room where a lady was waiting behind a curtain.
“M’lady,” the elder greeted with respect. “Everything has been settled.”
“Ye Mo, this is the best I can do for you,” the girl said. “If you can defeat Man Qi, then maybe, just maybe, that you can fulfill your promise.”
Ye Mo went back to the Xiao mansion and started to focus on his training using the Fortifying Pills.
The Five-Elements Core began to circle around the Rising Dragon Pillar as they became denser and denser.
With over 2,000 Fortifying Pills in his Dimensional Bracelet, he wouldn’t have to worry about getting low on stock.
His training abilities had clearly become faster and more efficient with the help of the pills.
Even if he did not advance to the next level, the size of the element cores had expanded tremendously. Ye Mo could even feel that the Fire-Element Core was about to break.
“Ling’er, what’s happening?” Ye Mo asked. “Why are there cracks on the core? Is it going to explode?”
“This is also my first time seeing something this weird,” Ling’er said while shaking her head.
With the countless uncertainties around the cores in his bodies, Ye Mo would have to wait until he advanced to a higher level to fully understand the Cultivation method that he was training for.
For the next three days, Ye Mo focused on training his Cultivation Method and mastering the Formation-Breaking Spear Technique and the Will of the Sky Blood Spear.
Ye Mo finally got the Ice Beast Core on the third day. He handed over 100 Fortifying Pills to the courier from the Hundred Treasures Pavilion when it arrived.
Ye Mo locked himself in a secret chamber and told everyone to not disturb him as he would only have three tries with each core. But since the Heavenly Frost Charm was a higher level Rank One Charm, Ye Mo might only get two tries out of the core.
Ye Mo laid a piece of blank charm on the table as he kept picturing the runes for the Heavenly Frost Charm in his head. Not only did Ye Mo have to control his energy well, he also had to worry about the backlash as it was the most dangerous part of being a Charm Master.
Some Charm Masters would sometimes go beyond their skill level and try to create charms they weren’t ready to create. Most of them would get injured by the backlash from trying the impossible.
Ye Mo’s face hardened as he held the egg-sized core in his hand. He took a deep breath and crushed the core.
The core belonged to a Frozen Sabretooth, a beast of the Half-Energy Shaping Realm that even Energy Shaping Realm warriors were afraid of.
Ice blue energy seeped out from his palm and formed a fog above him as the temperature of the chamber dropped drastically.
Ye Mo focused the Wood Energy on his fingers and pierced the fog. Ye Mo could instantly feel the cold energy spread throughout his body. If not for the Dragon Blood and Wood Energy in his body, he would’ve turned into an ice sculpture immediately.
Ye Mo pulled out an energy string from the fog and started to draw on the blank charm with it. The whole chamber was quiet. The only sound that could be heard was the scratching sound made from him drawing on the charm. The chamber was so cold that the sweat on Ye Mo that had formed on his forehead froze instantly.
Just as Ye Mo was about to finish the last rune, Ye Mo suddenly saw himself standing on an ice-covered field as a huge ice tornado raged towards him.
It was the most important step of creating the Heavenly Frost Charm. Ye Mo would have to stand his ground against the tornado.
The tornado struck Ye Mo as he stood still in it. Ye Mo could feel the freezing temperature from the tornado, but it was a mental attack, which meant that the Rising Dragon Pillar could not absorb it. Ye Mo had to fight against it with his own willpower.
Being a Charm Master required strong willpower. Without it, a person could be hurt by the mental attack when creating a charm. Some could suffer minor damage to their mind’s Mortal Gate while others might even lose their powers forever.
The tornado kept tearing through Ye Mo as ice began to form around him. He kept supplying his mind with Dragon Energies to withstand the attack.
As soon as one of the 10 Dragon Energies in his mind was depleted, he quickly summoned another from his Energy Center. A total of 20 Dragon Energies had been used as the tornado passed through Ye Mo.
Ye Mo let out a breath of relief as soon as he finished the last rune. Even if the mental attack happened in an instant, Ye Mo felt like he’d just had a close encounter with death.
“This should be it, right?” Ye Mo said as he looked at the complex runes that emitted a scary, cold aura.
“It’s the Heavenly Frost Charm,” Ling’er said. “But it’s not powerful enough to harm Man Qi. It should be strong enough when the mental attack requires you to use 40 Dragon Energies to withstand it. But remember, this is your last chance.”
“My last chance, huh?” Ye Mo said and pulled another string out of the fog.
