Chapter 904: Bluff

"So, I'm sure you can understand why everyone's suspicion went straight to the worst when they heard that you had wiped the remnants of the Baltics," Joana explained.

"What about my bloodline? How did it match the bloodline of the Angels? And if it somehow matched them, why was I freed without even talking about that?" Lucifer remembered being told that his bloodline had matched those people.

He wasn't asked about it, which intrigued him. How come he be freed only on the basis of his energy signature? There was no way the others shouldn't have been suspicious.

"Oh that." Joana burst into a hearty laughter. "You think they would've let you leave if your bloodline had matched? It was all a bluff."

"You mean... It didn't match?" Lucifer exclaimed. So he actually was fooled? His bloodline wasn't the same as theirs?

"Well, actually they have no way to match your bloodline. If they had a sample of Angelic Bloodline, do you think I wouldn't have found out on the first scan itself when I met you?" Joana rolled his eyes.

He took another sip of his wine, letting out all the truth. "In reality, we don't have any sample of the Bloodline of Angels. It's only after the era of Angels that we started this process; that's why it's impossible to match your bloodline with them. The suspicion entirely came from your energy signature. When it was proven to be wrong, you were freed."

"Don't tell anyone I told you to you, or you'll get me in trouble. Okay? I'm only telling you because we are friends."

Lucifer nodded. "I'm not going to tell anyone. Still, why would they lie about this? Why would they say that the bloodline matched?'

"Because they wanted to scare you, in case you were the real one. They wanted you to think you have no way out of this lie. As I said before, it was a big bluff. I don't think much of it. The Star Alliance was just as scared as you. They still are, I should say. Even if you aren't an angel, that doesn't mean the danger is over."

"There is still someone running around freely, the one who destroyed the Baltics and many of the Origin Families. Whoever that person is, he appeared after a long time to destroy the remnants of Baltics in your world. He came to finish his job."

" I don't know if he'll go into hiding once again or expand his revenge beyond the Origin Families because it was the world of everyone... That's why the Star Alliance is so alert when it comes to that person. They don't mean anything bad. They just want to keep people safe. What's past is the past after all."

"What about the box? What does it turning black mean? They only gave me two options. If it changed color to green, the energy signature matched. If it didn't change color at all, the energy signature didn't match. Even though it didn't change color to green, it did change color. So what should I assume of it?"

"That... It just means that your energy signature didn't match the energy signature of the Angels. However, it also wasn't the case where it didn't match at all. Only a small percentage of it matched, which wasn't enough to change the color to greed."

"So my energy matched?"

Joana smiled. "Nope. As I told you before, your bloodline is something really special. It partially matches all the bloodlines we know. It's the same case for your energy signature. It matches the energy signature of every species."

"For example, if we were matching your energy signature with mine, it would still be a partial match, even though we're both from different species. It's just the special nature of your body. We can't do anything about you. As long as your energy signature doesn't match entirely, that means you aren't from the same species. And that is why you were freed."

Following Joana's explanation, Lucifer couldn't help but think that he was really lucky. Just because his Bloodline matched everyone and they didn't have a sample of the Angels, he escaped. Moreover, once again, he escaped with his energy signature just because everyone assumed that a partial match was normal in his case since he was special.

He let out a sigh of relief. He had really escaped from trouble with great luck.

"Can you tell me more about the Angels? I'm really curious about them. If there is one of those angels alive, why can't you find him?"

"It's not as easy as you think. The Universe is really vast. Even we can't check all the places. Until some time ago, we didn't even know about the existence of earth either."

"That person can literally be hiding anywhere. We've been on his trail for a long time, but he's never found. It's after centuries that we sensed his energy again, but he seems to have disappeared again. As to where, we don't know."

"What will you do if you find him?" Lucifer asked.

"Kill him; what else? For the safety of this universe, it's of Grave Importance that we kill him. Moreover, that person has committed crimes of wiping out multiple species. He has written his death verdict with his own hands. All we need is to find him, and that will be his last day," Joana answered.

"If he is as strong as you claim to be, can the Star Alliance even defeat him? Do you even know his strength?"

"He is just one person. I'm sure the Star Alliance can take him out. It will be slightly hard. We might lose many of our soldiers and ships, but I am sure even that person won't be allowed to escape safely. All we need is one clue... One clue to where he's hiding and how to get to him." Joana smacked the table in frustration. "But that one clue itself is the hardest to find."

"Oh, by the way, I forgot to tell you. We managed to find out the whereabouts of the stones you were lookin

g for. Even though it wasn't easy, we managed to get the answers from Xaen. The Stones were hiding in his spatial storage, it seems." Joana placed three colorful stones on the table and slid them before Lucifer.

Lucifer picked the stone, slightly amused. This man was talking about one clue to get to that person, and he was handling over three stones that led to that person without even realizing it. "Did he say something else?"

"Yeah, he asked for his freedom in exchange for the stones. I couldn't offer him freedom, but I did manage to reduce his sentence to a few months in exchange for these stones. In any case, his original sentence was only for one year since his crime wasn't big."
