Chapter 2237: Dismantle the Surveillance Cameras

Editor: Atlas Studios

There were stairs all the way down. The two of them walked quickly and soon reached the second door. Perhaps they were too confident due to their success with the first door. When they saw that this door was just an ordinary iron door and it was ajar, they opened it with a gentle push and immediately saw a huge space in front of them.

It was a big hall with an area of around 1,000 square meters. There were a few experiment benches, desks, and a few piles of materials and incomplete weapons scattered around.

Xia Zhe’s heartbeat accelerated with excitement. He had been wondering why Alan, who was known to be a workaholic, would sometimes rest at home for a few days in a row. It looked like he not only had an office outside, but also a huge work basement at home!

There were tall doorways on the walls on both sides of the hall. The doorways did not have doors, as if to make it easier for one to retrieve items. Under the bright light, Xia Zhe could see that the doorways were lined with weapons that could blow his mind.

They had really found treasures this time round!

The two of them were so excited that they forgot where they were. Xia Zhe suddenly stopped in his tracks and looked up at the light fixtures on the ceiling. There were surveillance cameras in this room! And there were more than one! There was a huge surveillance camera above each doorway and another five huge surveillance cameras hung above the hall.

Qiao Mei heaved a sigh of relief when she saw the type of surveillance cameras used in this room. She was extremely glad that the technology was not that advanced yet. As long as she could destroy the tape, she would be able to completely eliminate this threat.

Xia Zhe was very eager to take a look at the mind-blowing weapons. The two of them immediately started to dismantle the surveillance cameras, not leaving a single one untouched. Even as he was busy doing that, he continued to steal glances at the weapons stored along every doorway. There were many weapons which he could not recognize and not all the weapons were produced by Alan’s company. There were many weapons from other companies, and even from other countries.

This was simply like a museum of the world’s weapons, containing 75% of the weapons in the world. If he could bring these things out with him, he could end his mission early and return to his home country! Then he would be able to reunite with his family!

The two of them walked from the front to the back and counted a total 15 doorways on both sides, each one a different size. Most of the doorways were used to store all kinds of weapons and there was only one of each kind. It looked like Alan was using them for his research.

The two of them dismantled all the surveillance cameras very quickly. Xia Zhe went to take a look at one of the weapons carefully and realized that it had already been disassembled. There was also no ammunition inside. It looked like the other weapons were in a similar condition.

Qiao Mei came to a realization. No wonder Alan dared to put so many dangerous things below his house. It turned out that these were just empty shells.

“This is a good thing. It’ll make it easier for me to transport them,” Xia Zhe said.

Even though the ammunition had already been removed, the empty shells were still equally valuable to him. He believed that the engineers back home would be able to manufacture the bullets for each weapon based on its shape and size.

However, there was a new problem now. How could he transport these weapons out?

It was not possible for him to just kill Alan’s entire family. They were all well-known people, especially Jessica. If she went missing, there would be a huge commotion. The investigation would be very intense and it would become inconvenient for him to do anything. Even then, there was still a murderous look in his eyes.

Qiao Mei sighed. At this point, it looked like they had to use her method.

“We should think about it at length and take it slow. After all, there are so many things and they can’t be transported in one go. It’ll attract too much attention if we transport so many things,” Qiao Mei said.

Xia Zhe also wanted to take action quietly, but how? He looked at Qiao Mei in puzzlement, but did not say anything.

Qiao Mei understood Xia Zhe’s puzzlement and whispered, “Don’t we also have a house in this neighborhood? It’s registered under your name.”

Qiao Mei had always liked to buy properties and Xia Zhe had also given most of his money to her. However, given that Qiao Mei’s identity as “Pu Nan” was not legit enough, she could only register most of her assets under Xia Zhe’s name. She had also bought a house for Xia Zhe in this area.

Qiao Mei only vaguely remembered that she owned such a house here, but she had always left it to the property agent to take charge of it and had never been to the house before. It was even more so for Xia Zhe. He knew about the purchase though and now that Qiao Mei reminded him, he could even manage to recall the house address.

It was only two blocks down from Alan’s house and not very far away. If they dug a tunnel, they could do whatever they had in mind!

“Let’s go. We can talk upstairs,” Xia Zhe said after looking at the time.

It had been almost an hour and it was too dangerous to stay here any longer. If Alan returned and they were stuck here, they would not even have a chance to escape. At that time, Xia Zhe would have no choice but to fight it to the death with Alan and the rest.

Qiao Mei’s feet seemed to be frozen to the spot. They were now standing in the last doorway. The last few doorways were actually empty, waiting to be filled up with new weapons. Earlier, Qiao Mei had only used her superpower to take a quick look at the entire underground space before she disconnected it.
