My Fiance Ran Away On Our Wedding Day Chapter 67

After hearing Zac's question, Anika realized that her birthday was coming soon.

The children in the orphanage had no idea of their actual birthday, so the dean would celebrate the day

when the child came to the orphanage as their birthday.

In Anika’s case, her birthday at the orphanage was May 26.

This was also hers and Zac's wedding anniversary.

Aside from Nataly, no one knew that this was her birthday.

However, after the Meyer Family adopted her, her birthday changed to the end of October.

This was the birthday that everyone knew.

At this time, she and Zac had been married for five months.

Looking at the necklace in her hand, Anika smiled and asked, "So this is also a birthday present?"

The man shook his head, "No, just consider this as a ...small gift’ Zac just saw the necklace and

recalled Anika.

He thought the necklace would look good on Anika’s fair and delicate skin.

It was not his intention to give it as a birthday gift because he intended to give some other things as a

gift.

Hearing this, Anika nodded and whispered, "Alright.”

"Huh?"

Zac looked down at her.

"I said I agree with your honeymoon trip.Sure, let's go."

The man's eyebrows twitched slightly as his lips started to curve.

Anika tidied up all her remaining work at hand and settled all the important matters so she could

prepare for their trip.

This made her schedule hectic.

Callum's adoption procedures were rather cumbersome, and the day that he would be sent abroad was

set to be the day before Anika and Zac's honeymoon trip.

Weekdays had passed very quickly, and in the blink of an eye, it was already the weekend.

Anika squeezed out her time to attend Harold and Pauline’s wedding.

Before Anika could leave, Zac leaned against the door and asked her, "Are you sure I don't need to

accompany you?"

Anika paused and comforted him, "Yeah.Just look after Callum. Also, you know that Nataly went by

herself.I should accompany her."

Anika answered casually as she did before.

She thought Zac would not be available for the weekend since he had business meetings in his study

room for the past few weekends.

However, he was surprisingly free for the weekend.

Anika did not have a choice but to persuade Zac to stay at home because Nataly would go alone since

there was a conflict between Brandon and Gavyn.

When Zac heard this, he looked at her quietly.

Then his eyelids sank slightly and he idly raised his eyebrows, "Then I'll wait for you at home."

His voice was soft and gentle.

But for some reason, Anika sensed that he was feeling different Anika couldn't say anything.

It was as if she had wronged him.

The wedding was held in a church.

It was simple and only a few relatives and friends from both sides were invited.

The church was located next to C University, a historical architectural site.

According to a guest, the bride and groom chose the church because they were in love with the place.

The wedding ceremony was short and warm.

Pauline's father didn't come, so it was her uncle whom she had walked with at the aisle.

Her uncle held her hand and handed her over to Harold.

The bride wore a pure white wedding dress.

Her beautiful face was filled with happiness.

Even Harold, who was always quiet and reserved, had a smile on his face.

The couple held hands and looked at each other.

They swore an oath in front of everyone and exchanged rings.

Everyone thought, ‘She was a perfect match for a talented man”

After the ceremony, Anika and Nataly walked towards the newlyweds not far away.

"Nataly, Anika."

Harold was two years younger than Nataly and half a year younger than Anika.

He had known them for more than ten years.

Anika smiled as she took the champagne from the table and drank a cup with the newlyweds.

"Congratulations on your wedding!"

"Thank you, Anika!" Pauline smiled brightly.

"I heard from Harold that you have helped him a lot in the past"

Nataly liked Pauline very much.

She smiled when she heard this.

"He doesn't talk a lot and has a stiff personality.Thank you for loving him” Harold was aware of this so

he just lowered his head and looked at Pauline, "Indeed Although he hadn't had much contact with the

two women these past few years, he was still treated as a younger brother that had grown up together

with them.Seeing this scene, Anika suddenly felt a little more gratified.

She looked at the sky and said, "Dean, you must be very happy to see your children get married"

Harold had been abandoned in front of the orphanage for several days.

When he was young, he was very weak so the dean was always worried about him.

Hearing this, Harold lowered his eyes and said, "Well, I will bring Pauline to X County in a few days."

The orphanage where the three of them lived was in X County, where the dean was also buried.

Anika paused slightly and said with a bit of melancholy, "Speaking of which, it was all thanks to you that

the Principal passed away peacefully."

At that time, she and Nataly were both abroad, and Harold was the only one accompanying the dean.

Harold was also the one who picked her up when she called back to the orphanage.

Harold ashamedly said, "I didn't do anything either. In the end, it was all thanks to Kayden’s friend from

JH City who sent the dean to the hospital.’

"Kayden's friend from JH City?"

Anika raised her eyebrows.

Harold nodded his head, "When the dean can no longer stay in the ward, Kayden asked his friend to

come over and send the dean to the city hospital"

JH City was the capital of X Province and it was not far from X County.

However, the medical facilities of JH City Hospital were better compared to the county.

Anika frowned slightly.

She had never heard of Kayden having a friend at JH City.

However, when she realized that she was thinking of Kayden, she quickly put aside her thoughts.

After attending the wedding, Anika and Nataly got into the latter's car.

Anika drank a few glasses of champagne just now and her face was a little rosy.

She leaned lazily against the back of the chair then her big round eyes narrowed.

She opened the car window and felt the breeze brush across her cheeks comfortably.

Nataly looked at her expression and asked with a smile, "How are things between you and Zac now?"

Anika nodded, "I think it must be ...pretty good"

"Nika, I feel that you have been untroubled since you got married. It reminds me of the Anika I knew

when we were living in the orphanage"

"Am I?"

Anika looked back at her.

Nataly pondered for a few seconds and then said, "In the past, you used to be untroubled when you

embarrassed yourself in front of me and the dean.On the contrary, after you lived at Meyer's residence,

I always felt like you were suppressing your emotions every time I saw you"

Looking at the night scene in front of the car window, Anika twitched her lips and said, "Probably.I

always felt that the orphanage was like home.’

Anika had lived in the orphanage for more than ten years.

When she was suddenly told that she had a relative, her life instantly underwent a tremendous change.

After the dean said that she could not return to the orphanage, Anika was a little confused.

If she had a choice, she would rather live in an orphanage where she felt free than living with a vigilant

family for a few years.

Although the orphanage was not wealthy, the dean had never let them starve.

After leaving the orphanage, Anika still lacked a sense of belonging to the Meyer family.

She stayed abroad for five or six years, longer than her stay in Meyer's Residence.

Back then, she just decided to return to China for the sake of her grandfather.

After she heard this, Nataly raised her eyebrows slightly, "What about now?"

Back then, she thought that only orphanages were like home.

Nataly was curious about what Anika feels about the house that Anika lived with Zac.

"Now?"

Anika frowned slightly as if she had suddenly fallen into some kind of difficult thought and did not reply.

Seeing her slightly conflicted expression, Nataly knew that Anika could still think clearly.

She was just a little drunk.

The car stopped in front of the villa.

Anika opened her eyes and said, "Nataly, are we here already?"

"Yes, Nika. Can you get out of the car?"

Nataly smiled and looked at her.

Anika opened the car door and got off, then waved goodbye to Nataly.

Anika just stood there, seemingly ready to watch Nataly's car leave.

Nataly saw that her friend was still waiting for her to leave.

She also saw the man standing in front of the floor-to-ceiling window. She shook her head and smiled,

then drove away.
