Chapter 786 Alchemy and Arcana

"W-what! What's going on?! What did you do to me?!" Salister pounded against his cell, but to no avail.

"You stay in that prison until I get those souls back," Lorelai declared, calmly placing the miniature prison cell back into her inventory.

"W-wait! Wait! Let me out! LET ME OUT!" Salister's desperate shouts were swallowed by the ongoing battle and the darkness that soon followed.

The onlookers who witnessed the spectacle were all terrified and shouted.

"Salister Kane is defeated!"

"Salister got defeated!"

"So that idiot got defeated," Malifira mused to herself, before she sighed. "Good thing that I have gotten these souls from him. Looks like I have to do everything myself."

"Where are you looking at?!" Desira said and fired a barrage of spells in Malifira's way. "You're going to die if you don't focus."

Rows of little potions appeared between Malifira's fingers, and she casually tossed onto the spells that Desira had thrown her way. They exploded mid-air as she gracefully retreated.

Malifira's smirk widened. "Rest assured, I possess the strength to spare some attention for others. Even with my focus on a different part of the battlefield, defeating me remains beyond your reach."

Veins bulged on Desira's face, yet she managed to force a smile. "We'll see about that."

At the side, Vivi summoned one of her peculiar creations into the fray — a giant crab adorned with cakes and fruits.

The confectionery-covered crustacean scuttled forward with surprising speed, its pincers snapping menacingly. Vivi rode atop her mechanical masterpiece, directing it toward Malifira with a mischievous grin.

As the giant crab closed in, Malifira observed its approach with amusement. She casually reached into her pouch and produced a handful of small, glowing spheres. With a flick of her fingers, she tossed the spheres towards the advancing crab.

The spheres burst upon contact, releasing a vibrant array of colors and cotton candies. To everyone's surprise, the giant crab paused in its tracks, seemingly entranced by the whimsical display.

Vivi, atop her now docile creation, blinked in disbelief. "Crabby, what are you doing? Attack her!"

Malifira smirked. "Seems like your friend here has a sweet tooth just like its creator."

"C-crabby!" Vivi growled in frustration.

The volcanic battleground crackled with arcane energy as Malifira faced off against Desira and Vivi.

The remnants of Salister's defeat lingered in the air, but the confrontation between the alchemist and the duo of mages brought a new surge of tension to the scene.

Desira casted a dazzling array of spells towards Malifira. Arcane energies swirled in intricate patterns, forming magical projectiles that whizzed through the air with deadly precision.

However, Malifira's alchemical expertise came into play as she effortlessly intercepted the spells with well-timed concoctions.

Rows of vials filled with shimmering liquids appeared between Malifira's nimble fingers. With a flick of her wrist, she sent the vials soaring through the air, each colliding with Desira's magical onslaught.

The vials exploded in a dazzling display of sparks and smoke, neutralizing the incoming spells.

Malifira moved effortlessly, dodging the residual magic that scattered in the aftermath.

Desira seized the distraction to renew her assault. Bolts of magical energy crackled around her as she unleashed a potent incantation. The air hummed with magical resonance, creating an ethereal battlefield between the alchemist and the mage.

The ground beneath them trembled as Malifira's alchemy clashed with Desira's arcane might. Explosions of magical energy illuminated the volcanic landscape, casting surreal shadows on the molten rocks.

Vivi, still perched on her now pacified crab, frantically tinkered with a contraption, attempting to regain control over her creation.

Malifira was adapting to the shifting dynamics of the battle, and reached into her inventory once more. This time, she withdrew small, metallic devices that unfolded into intricate traps. She scattered them strategically across the battlefield, creating a hazardous terrain for her adversaries.

Desira was undeterred, and conjured a swirling vortex of magical energy. The vortex expanded rapidly, threatening to envelop Malifira in its arcane grasp.

However, the alchemist responded with swift precision, deploying a specialized alchemical barrier that absorbed and redirected the magical onslaught.

Vivi, having regained control over her confectionery-covered crab, directed it to charge at Malifira from an unexpected angle.

"Yosh! Now go and restrain Malifira!" Vivi shouted and directed it towards Malifira.

The giant crab skittered along the hazardous traps, inadvertently triggering some of Malifira's hidden devices.

Each trap activated with a unique effect — smoke, flashes of light, and even illusory duplicates of Malifira appeared, confusing both Desira and Vivi.

"Hoi! Vivi, be careful where you direct that giant thing!" Desira growled.

Vivi felt the urge to cry. "I'm trying, but I can't see the traps!"

"Then go and make an item that allows you to see the traps! You're a Tinker, for hell's sake!"

"Ah! That's right!" Vivi exclaimed, surprised and quickly got to the job.

Desira took a deep, calming breath. "I'm surrounded by idiots."

Amidst the chaos, Malifira seized the opportunity to counterattack. She unleashed a volley of alchemical projectiles, each imbued with a different elemental property.

The projectiles whizzed through the air, forcing Desira and Vivi to hastily evade the unpredictable onslaught.

The battle unfolded with a dance of magic and alchemy, creating a spectacle of colors and explosions against the backdrop of the fiery terrain.

The volatile combination of each combatant's unique abilities painted a vivid picture of chaos and sparkles of lights.

While Desira and Vivi were busy with Malifira, Azazel and Elena were having a hard time dealing with Infernal.

This was mainly due to the fact that Infernal had similar stats to Elena or even greater, while Azazel was still weakened at the moment.

Azazel was thrown to the ground by Infernal once again, blood oozing from various parts of his body.

"Harharhar!" Infernal laughed manically. "And you said that you will kill me? You have a pretty big mouth for someone so weak!"

"Augh . . . I just don't have all my powers at the moment," Azazel spat blood from his mouth and shakily stood to his feet.

"Hoi, Azazel, you're the Demon Lord, right? Don't just stand there and look like you're dying!" Elena shouted at him.

"Demon Lord?" Infernal's brow raised before he shifted his eyes to Azazel. "Him?"

And he burst out laughing.
