“T-that . . . that sounds scary.” Leonel didn’t want Evie to turn tail now that she and Ren were getting close. At least one of them should have a smooth-sailing romance.
Evie was surely scared by now. Leonel thought, and he slowly shifted in Evie’s direction. His movement was stiff, like he broke a bone in his neck. “E-Evie . . . don’t be scared. You have nothing to worry about. A-as long as I’m here, everything will be fine.”
Evie blinked. She wasn’t scared, though. Ren was there, and with his lead, she was sure everything would come out fine in the end. It always did.
However, she didn’t want to deny Leonel the satisfaction of his comfort, so she said instead, “I’m counting on you.”
Leonel gave a thumbs up, hands shaking and lips trembling as he forced a smile.
Ren threw Leonel the side eyes before saying, “Anyway, even though I said that we can trigger that World Boss, we still have to level our ATP near the hundreds. The two of you evolving to your second-tier subclass is also better.”
“Second tier?” Leonel immediately looked into his status. Over his subclass, there was a word flashing in gold light, and he clicked it. “It says here that I’ll become a [Guardian] once my DEF reaches a hundred.”
Leonel sighed, raffling his fringe. “Which would take forever at this rate.”
“Mine is [Illusionist],” Evie chimed, eyes narrowing at the numbers making sure that she was seeing it right. “When my INT reaches a hundred, and LCK reaches past seventy.”
Leonel took a peek but couldn’t see anything on Evie’s window screen.
Evie was silent for a moment before she asked, “Are we going to grind for a month to reach those numbers?” Though she doubted a month would cut it. The more they level their ATP, the little the EXP they’d get.
It was possible if they cleared dungeons and defeated bosses, but exploring dungeons nowadays took a month of in-game time because of the four hours (real world) restrictions every day.
Since the update, players going into dungeons were forced to log out when the four hours (real world) timer was up. But they reappeared on the same spot with the same stat and items the next day and resumed their raid like nothing had happened. And since then, every guild and player timed their raids because there was no exiting a dungeon until the Boss was defeated or everyone got wiped out.
That loop in time was also used by larger guilds as battle tactics. Sending batches of players at different hours so that by the time they reappeared, they either had fresh supplies of players or fresh supplies of items that they needed.
All in all, the four-hour restriction had a lot of advantages if they thought about it.
To reach the second tier of their subclass, Evie estimated that they needed at least three months or more since there was also the time restriction in the real world that they had to consider.
Ren’s smile grew extensive. “Not a month . . . Only a week.”
Leonel and Evie looked at each other, and their eyes widened.
“A WEEK?!” they said at the same time.
“Is that possible when it took me two weeks to add just five points to my ATP?” Leonel asked, unsure.
“Oh. It is,” Ren said in a cryptic manner.
It was time to visit those grinding spots and butcher some delicious and expensive Pelka meat.
Ren didn’t plan to hasten the level of his ATP. He was planning to take it easy and go with the flow of things, leveling together in dungeons and completing quests with his clients.
At least with low ATP, he could still somewhat fill the thrill of the game. Being overpowered wasn’t exactly exciting, either.
However, Serius Alvarez just triggered him, urging his desire to dominate the game by force.
He would show him and the world that in COVENANT . . . Power is Power.
And World Conqueror is an unrivaled power.

After the red notice to the public by Serius Alvarez, guilds and players didn’t want anything to do with World Conqueror anymore. And they were quickly forgotten by history.
Some were even avoiding Ren and Leonel like the plague, but the two ignored it as they were busy grinding and leveling their ATP day in and out in COVENANT together with Evie and Ragnar.
The world continued its course, and COVENANT was still full of players and guilds that wanted to dominate each other in raids, PvP, and quests.
The last few days went by without anything major happening. No announcement booming in the skies. No upcoming special events. The firstbloods were getting scarce. Guilds were busy upgrading their headquarters for the upcoming Guild Wars while solo players were occupied with grinding to carve their names on the leaderboards.
The competition was intense as always but peaceful nonetheless. There was something strange about the stillness. The lack of major happening in Arcadia was like the calm before the storm.
Everyone could feel it. The tingle that nipped on their bones and ran in the course of their nerves. There was something in the air. Electrifying, strange . . . dangerous.
Something big was coming.
*sigh . . .
“Stop sighing for the nth time and do your job properly,” player 1 spat at player 2, whose head was on the clouds.
Player 2 yawned and picked the grass and pebbles with his lethargic arms. He felt so bored that even breathing became a chore. “How long are we going to be put in this supporting role? Foraging for a month now is not exactly my ideal of an adventure in the game.”
Player 1 rolled his eyes. “If you can carve your name on top of that leaderboard then try to negotiate with EXP is Life again.”
“Us bottom feeders are no match even against their new members,” sighed Player 3, resigned to his fate. “We should be glad that EXP is Life took us in.”
“I’m just happy that I get money from this boring job,” said player 1.
“Hey, what’s that green thing?” Player 2 jabbed a finger at the sudden mysterious ‘creature’ that appeared on the edge of the cliff. It looked like a sea of grass.
They were at least more than twenty meters high in the mountains, and they hadn’t stumbled upon a flying beast going up. Ruling out a flying creature, there was no rumor that the mountain they were at had a boss.
The beasts they encountered were low-levels. This mountain was safe, and a lot of low-level players went here to forage.
Player 1 shrugged. “Grass?”
“Suddenly appearing here at twenty meters?”
“Sky grass?” said Player 3.
Upon closer inspection, the three realized that it wasn’t grass but a green jelly-like substance. It was vast, like the base of a mountain, only it was shaped like a dome.
The three were about to poke it again when it moved and rose to its height. The mountain was overshadowed by its massive frame, and the three wet their pants at the titanic blob of jelly before them.
Their screams signaled the madness that was coming.
A World Boss had appeared, and the news shook all corners of the world!

A/N (Doesn’t consume coins)
I’m going to change the slow pace of the story to medium range since a lot are getting impatient and bored 😅
This whole book is undergoing quick edits by me since I still haven’t found an editor. I’m sure I’ll miss some words and some sentences are still awkward, but that would bandage the situation for now. I still need to write, after all. I can’t be stuck in editing chapters forever. 😆😅
A lot actually requested for Stat updates and some said that it shouldn’t consume coins. My answer is, I thought hard and long for those skills and spells and used it as the bases of strategy for every battle.
But Characters second, third, fourth (and so on) stats updates are free. It’s only the first one that isn’t because I thought hard for those skills and spells that they should have. Even if it just look simple. I made it simple so its easy to understand and not overload the brain.
Welp, that’s it for my procrastination
Thank you for the love and support, everyone
