Chapter 2430 - A Storm is Coming
Amplified by his soul power, Chi Hun’s words swept across Mount Taia and shook all who were present. Such a declaration would also sweep through the entire Infinitum Bodhimanda through various transmission stones.
"Do you have any questions, Second Patriarch Lin, Granny Dongshen?" Chi Hun's abyss-like eyes coldly stared at them.
"I do." Lin Xiao wasn’t frightened at all. He had anticipated Chi Hun’s declaration.
"The highest executive power in the Infinitum Bodhimanda lies with the first rex mundi. Your entire declaration comes from subjective judgment and has no factual basis. The use of astralships and guard formations are both of extreme significance, involving the most important laws. Punishment should be meted out by the first rex mundi. No one is allowed to abuse their power before she makes her judgment, let alone wipe out an entire clan!" Although Chi Hun was very intimidating, Lin Xiao spoke powerfully, with an air of righteousness and magnanimity. His aura rivaled Chi Hun’s.
"No factual basis? Lin Xiao, do you have a conscience? Eighty thousand ebons are dead. Isn’t that a fact? Are you, a son-in-law of the Grnadnorth Dongshen Clan, planning to betray the Swordgod Lin Clan and join forces with criminals? Then we have no choice but to punish you on behalf of the Infinitum Bodhimanda!" Chi Hun righteously said.
"You keep talking about punishment, but do you have the authority?" Dongshen Zhuojun appeared under the formation.
"You murderer! What gives you the right to speak? You killed three thousand of our compatriots and eighty thousand more unjust souls lay dead at your feet. Our forces will soon arrive and you’ll meet your end!" Chi Hun sneered.
"I killed three thousand of you? If I could do that, then I might as well leave with Mount Taia’s Quintessence! Chi Hun, would I be able to take it if you wanted to guard it? Everyone in Ebonia knows that you deliberately let your guard down so that I’d take the bait. Once I did that, you killed three thousand of your own people, put the blame on me, and used it as an excuse to destroy the Grandnorth Dongshen Clan," Dongshen Zhuojun retorted, feeling extremely agitated. Since Chi Hun wanted to make declarations, he, too, would take the opportunity to spread the truth.
"You vicious bastard! How dare you slander the tenth rex mundi! That’s just another crime on top of your previous one!"
"Just you wait. When the forces of the Rex Mundi Alliance arrive, you, Dongshen Zhuojun, will die tragically!"
"Shameless criminal! You’re a disgrace to the Infinitum Bodhimanda!"
The ebons angrily cursed. Inside the guard formation, countless members of the Dongshen Clan swore back. In fact, there wasn’t any truth in this world, only sides. To many people, it didn’t matter who took those three thousand lives.
"Lin Xiao, Dongshen Yue!"
In a rage, Chi Hun announced, "As soon as the forces of the Rex Mundi Alliance arrive, we’ll enforce the law on behalf of the Infinitum Bodhimanda. You must retreat as soon as possible. If you still try interfering at that time, you will be guilty of the same crimes and your deaths will be justified!"
With that, the ebons turned around and entered the Nethersoul.
......
Tianming listened to Yin Chen’s report on the situation at Mount Taia. "How shameless."
"Why hasn’t Yi Daiyan stopped them? Are three hundred million people going to die so unjustly? What on earth is she thinking...? If they can challenge her authority this time, they can do it again and again, and each time will be a blow to her prestige," Feiling asked, puzzled.
"If she doesn't fight, those who are still unsure will think that she’s afraid of the ebons and choose to stand on the opposing side. That’s very unfavorable for her," Lin Xiaoxiao said.
"I don’t know the specifics," Tianming sighed.
"They’re already waving the flag of justice. If Yi Daiyan doesn't stop them, Grandpa and Grandma will be in danger. They’ll fight alongside the Dongshen Clan, even if it means losing their lives." Feiling was worried.
"Can we help them?" Lin Xiaoxiao asked.
"We can't even protect ourselves," Tianming said, his voice low. He was in the most danger he had been in since arriving in Ebonia.
Tianming looked outside. Lin Xiong and Lin Chongyao were both there, along with four council members from the traditionalist faction. They were Lin Xiao's friends and could be trusted. There were a total of six council members around Tianming.
That wasn’t all; about twenty thousand astral gods had been urgently deployed just outside the council hall. They guarded the area and were constantly on guard against Tianxi and the alien monster. Although the council hall was no different from an impregnable fortress, Tianming was still worried. The ebons hadn’t just drawn Lin Changkong and Lin Xiao away to destroy the Dongshen Clan and demonstrate their might. They wouldn’t do all that just to kill Lin Xiao and disintegrate the Lin Clan, either.
"If they’re going to do something, it’ll definitely be as soon as the armies of the Rex Mundi Alliance arrive and attack.... There’d be no way Grandpa and Grandma can come back even if they wanted to," Tianming softly said.
"You must hide when that happens. I’m going to lure the enemy away the moment I feel that something’s wrong." Tianming had repeatedly warned the girls about that.
"Hey," Moran called out.
"What's the matter, Little Fish?" Tianming said, walking up to her.
"Can the Phantavoid enter the council hall’s formation?" Moran looked up at him with her dark eyes.
"Yes. The formation is powerful but has a limited range," Tianming replied.
"Can we ask the elders to land a deific-class astralship here? If Ji Ji can mobilize its nova source for me to use, I should be able to materialize the two ether-class divine wonders," Moran said.
"Deific-class? The smallest one shouldn’t be a problem. But...." Pursing his lips, he looked at her and continued, "Your cultivation level is too low and your body is weak so it’s very likely that you won’t be able to bear that much power. It might result in the collapse of your body, or even death. I don’t think we should go with this."
Moran would always put herself through the worst, even past her limit. Tianming knew that she would go crazy if the situation was critical.
"No." She looked up, eyes slightly trembling. "Even if that’s so, I want to give it a try."
"Why?" Tianming froze.
"To thank you for giving me and my sisters a second chance at life. We’re all very happy to be able to visit this world with you.... We’ve agreed that we’re willing to do anything to help you even a little, even if it means dying,” she said urgently.
Tianming was stunned.
"They all think so. I think so. All fifty of us do. What’s the meaning of life if we can’t repay you?" Her eyes were red.
"But there’s no need to risk your life." Tianming didn't know whether to laugh or cry.
"You’re doing everything you can, so why can't we?" asked Moran.
Tianming was silent.
"Go and ask for the astralship. Time’s running out," Moran urged.
"Okay," Tianming finally said.
