Chapter 6070: I’m Only A Little Older

“Now will you answer my questions?” Li Qiye said.

“Look at what you’ve done, you dragged me into this mess!” Water Emissary had a painful expression as he glared at Fog Emissary.

“The way I see it, you’ve been keeping something to yourself, so here is the chance to finally let it out.” Fog Emissary acted as if he was in the right.

“Look at you now. As the adage goes, he who walks with the wise grows wise, but you’re not associating with anyone worthwhile.” Water Emissary said.

“So you know of my old self?” Fog Emissary asked.

“You expect too much out of an underwater ghost.” Water Emissary responded.

“Forget other matters, focus on Old Pact Strike.” Li Qiye waved his hand.

“The rules forced us to stay out back then, so even if I didn’t hide, I would have been underwater.” Water Emissary said.

“So why did I find you at the entrance handing out sweet soup?” Li Qiye said.

“Well.” Water Emissary chuckled and said: “I just came up to take a breath, that’s all, before taking a long dive again.”

“I can help you with that dive until no bubbles come up again.” Li Qiye smirked.

“No, it’s alright!” Water Emissary said: “Fine, I will answer your question, Sir. Just know that it might not be correct since I was not present.”

“Go for it.” Li Qiye said.

He pondered his words carefully before speaking: “The truth is that I don’t know if it was related to our major ghost market.”

Li Qiye’s eyes narrowed after hearing this.

“Because the market didn’t have any participants in the actual fighting. I am sure of this.” Water Emissary said.

“The market was certainly the battlefield.” Li Qiye said.

“Yes, right in Heavenfall, that’s a part of the market, the most dangerous location. It’s changed though.” He said: “Due to the rules, my knowledge is limited.”

“More spying.” Fog Emissary interjected.

Water Emissary glared at him before continuing: “From my experience, the problem was them. Someone, I don’t know who, led them straight to Heavenfall. Ghosts didn’t dare to go there yet outsiders such as themselves had no qualms, clearly confident.”

“So it was a trap for the progenitors.” Six-style said.

Someone whom they trusted led them here. These progenitors weren’t easily fooled so their relationship must have been deep. Six-style didn’t dare to make conjectures regarding the culprit.

“That’s most likely the case. Our ghost market wasn’t strong enough to participate.” Water Emissary shrugged.

“Interesting, catching them all at once isn’t easy. One or two couldn’t have done it well enough regardless of the trust level.” Li Qiye said.

“So there were helpers.” Six-style understood.

“More than that, the guide was the helper, not the actual mastermind.” Li Qiye smiled.

“I don’t have any more information since we were in hiding.” Water Emissary said.

“Then who was there to control the rules and laws?” Li Qiye chuckled.

Water Emissary exchanged glances with Fog Emissary.

“Ghost Monarch can’t either.” Fog Emissary had thought about this before.

“Yes, otherwise Ghost Monarch would be in full control of the market.” Water Emissary agreed.

“Only a few have control over the laws.” Li Qiye said.

“Although I was underwater, I could tell Fiendish Ground and Evil Transformation weren’t there. Something was strange about it.” Water Emissary said.

“What was?” Fog Emissary asked.

“The power was familiar but not a true arrival, it’s hard to say.” Water Emissary said.

“Let it out.” Li Qiye smiled.

“Sir, it’s just my speculation.” Water Emissary said: “If I have to point at someone, it would be Fiendish Ground but that doesn’t make sense. It doesn’t have any direct conflict with Cao Yang and Baihui’s group.”

“Who do you think was the traitor?” Li Qiye asked.

“That’s an answer beyond the reach of the ghost market.” Water Emissary said.

“Then what do you think about the ghost market?” Li Qiye asked.

“In what sense, Sir?” Water Emissary asked carefully.

“How did it take this form?” Li Qiye elaborated.

“As far as I know, it crashed down here.” Water Emissary said.

“Is that so? It used to be Soulcast Land, certain events happened and it became the ghost market.” Li Qiye said.

“You should know, Brother Water, you’re the oldest ghost.” Fog Emissary said.

“The oldest ghost isn’t Ghost Monarch?” Six-style asked.

“No, Ghost Monarch is far younger. My research gave me this answer.” Fog Emissary said.

“Sigh, nothing like that, I’m only a little older, that’s all.” Water Emissary said.

“Looks like you’ve been a ghost for long enough, truly transforming and considering this place as your home.” Li Qiye stared at him and said.

“I do love the ghost market, it’s a great place.” Water Emissary agreed.

“You don’t remember anything about your past life as the living?” Li Qiye asked.

Water Emissary glared at Fog Emissary instead of answering.

“Don’t give me that look, I didn’t choose to forget.” Fog Emissary said.

“I don’t remember at all what it was like to be alive, being a ghost is pretty good.” Water Emissary answered.
