Ready to Join the Crew
Just as she was about to pass by, Cynthia suddenly reached out to stop her.
“What’s the rush? Are you going on a date or something?”
Amelie gazed at her with scorn.
She then left without saying a word.
Cynthia looked at her angrily but had to put up with it.
But this wasn’t over.
After Amelie left the company, she took out her phone to call Jeff.
But a phone call came in. She checked it out and found it was Lamont.
Her fingers lingered on the screen as she hesitated to press the button.
The thought of what happened at the press conference unsettled her, and she rejected the call.
Amelie needed a space to take care of her private issues.
She would be joining the crew in two days, and it would be bad for her if her attitude continued like this.
Belen hurried over with some of Amelie’s belongings.
“Amelie, everything is set. We can go now.”
Amelie calmed down and put her phone in her bag.

Amelie reached out to hail a taxi.
But she vaguely saw out of the corner of her eye that a paparazzo was filming herself with a camera in
the corner.
Those guys were just unavoidable. They were everywhere.
Amelie looked away but felt bad.
Although she knew that this was normal for artists, from such stalking, she felt that she was being
watched, and even her life was affected.

Her life was peaceful for a couple of days. At home, Amelie spent her time reading scripts and

It was an action drama, so physical fitness was necessary. After she joined the crew tomorrow, she
would receive boxing
training.
After running five kilometers on the treadmill, Amelie was drenched in sweat.
She took a towel and wiped her sweat.
“Amelie, we’re going to the filming site tomorrow and will be there for several months. Would you go
and visit your family?”
Belen reminded her.
She was packing the luggage.
“It’s fine. Many paparazzi are stalking me, and I don’t want them to affect my family. I’ll find a chance to
go back after the filming is completed and everything settles down,” Amelie said, letting out a deep
breath.
The worry in her heart was understandable. She had been guilty and upset about affecting her family.
Early the next morning before the sun came out, Amelie packed up her things and prepared to go.
The first part of the play would be filmed locally, and it was not a far trip.
When they arrived at the filming site, they saw Cynthia and an unmet man.
Amelie and Belen planned to go straight to the lounge to rest.
The launching ceremony would kick off soon, and they needed to get prepared.
But no sooner had Amelie taken a few steps than Cynthia came over with a broad smile.
She was acting.
She walked up with a confident look.
“Ms. Mullen, you came so early. I thought you wouldn’t come until the afternoon.”
“I guess I can’t neglect my work”
Amelie ignored Cynthia and prepared to walk away when Manuel came up with several bags.
Only then did Amelie’s attitude change.
“Good morning, Ms. Mullen! Come and have some fruit.”
He thoughtfully handed a bag to Belen.
“Thank you, Manuel.”
“Go and take a rest. Someone will go and inform you before the launching ceremony begins.”
Fortunately, Manuel came in time to ease the embarrassment.
Amelie left Cynthia behind and strode to the lounge.
Not happy about it, Cynthia glared at her and turned to leave.
The launching ceremony in the morning went smoothly. There were no accidents.
After taking the group photo, everyone left separately. The afternoon was the rest period, and a party
would be held in the evening to bond them and get them to work with each other better in the filming.
Amelie had never liked such occasions but had to concede given her current status.
“Amelie, wear a skirt in the evening. You’ll impress everyone.”
“Is it necessary?”
“Why not? You’re the female lead and should dress up to kill.”
Amelie didn’t respond but kept her eyes on the screen. She was waiting for Jeff’s news, but he still
hadn’t replied. She had no idea how the investigation was going.
Time passed quickly. Soon, it was the evening.
Amelie randomly selected a black dress. She put on light makeup and prepared to attend the dinner
party.
Belen was very puzzled to see her dressed like that.
“Amelie, don’t tell me that you’re attending the dinner party like this. Aren’t you afraid that Cynthia will
judge you in public?
She never ceases causing trouble.”
“Why should I care about what other people think? It’s meaningless if I’m dressed up the best. Besides,
this is just a dinner party for the crew. There are no paparazzi or reporters, so take it easy.”
Amelie didn’t take it seriously. She never cared about this kind of party and just wanted to leave the
scene as soon as possible.
Socialization was never her thing.
“Well then.”
Belen didn’t insist since she was just an agent.
