Recurrence
Amelie was pleased to see Cynthia elated.
The relationship between the two can finally be restored as before and all the effort actually paid off.
Amelie stepped forward with a smile on her face and took Cynthia’s hand.
“No matter what happened, we’ll always be good sisters. Our entire crew is still waiting for you, so
please get well as soon as possible. I wouldn’t want to delay my work progress too much either.”
Amelie didn’t beat around the bush and she was always straight to the point when she talked.
Cynthia agreed.
“Don’t worry. I’ll be fine after staying in the hospital for a day or two. Once we’re done with this drama,
we’ll have opportunities to cooperate, although it won’t be plenty left. Jeff doesn’t want me to enter into
the entertainment industry, but since he knew I like acting, he would hope that I would take lesser roles
and hone my acting skills more instead.”
As soon as the voice fell, the door of the ward opened.
Jeff came in with a full bottle of water, and then sat on the sofa.
“Come on, drink. Your throat needs some moisture after all that talk.”
Jeff said so as he poured tea for Amelie.
After an hour of chatter, Amelie was about to leave.
The relationship between the two improved significantly after they reconciled, and Cynthia smiled more
than ever. Perhaps all couples will come together at the end of the day, one way or another.
Amelie was prepared to head home after leaving the ward, knowing that Emilee was waiting for her.
Amelie had to see
Emilee every day to feel at ease.
Amelie’s mobile phone rang as she went into the taxi. She picked it up but noticed it was from an
unknown caller.
She thought of everything that had happened before and dared not to answer the unknown caller’s dial.
But the devilish tone kept ringing and ringing, ruining Amelie’s mood bit by bit.
“Aren’t you going to answer that, miss?”
The driver thought Amelie didn’t notice her phone and gave her a reminder after the mobile phone rang
for a long
time.
Amelie replied with a nod and didn’t explain further.
After a ten–minute drive, the taxi finally arrived at the bottom floor of the apartment.
She packed up her belongings and hopped out of the car.
She hurried to the bottom floor, and was about to head upstairs.
But just as she was about to head up, she felt a cold gaze.
Amelie halted, turned around and observed her surroundings.
No matter how she tried, she could not locate where the gaze came from.
She felt a chill down her spine in an instant.
This was so creepy! Why was that, and why were they following Amelie?
Amelie couldn’t conclude her situation after a long and thorough thought.
At this moment, Lamont hurried over.
He originally wanted to come over to see Amelie, but little did he know his timing was just right.
Amelie rushed to Lamont and hugged his waist at the sight of him.
“You’re finally here. You have no idea how scared I was earlier.”
Amelie panted heavily and said in fear.
“What’s the matter, what happened.”
Lamont asked worriedly.
“Someone was watching me, but I have no idea who it was. I’m terrified. Could you stay with me for the
night?”
Amelie finally mustered up the courage to speak her mind.
She had thought about this for a long time, just that she never said anything.
After they got up and entered the room, Lamont packed the things up in the kitchen without a single
complaint.
At this time, Emilee was in the room, and they were unsure if she was asleep.
Amelie was searching around the room for something.
But to her surprise, Amelie found Emilee’s mobile phone on the sofa while searching.
So hurriedly picked it up and was about to hand it over to Emilee.
As soon as he picked up the phone, the screen of the phone turned on.
She happened to see the text message displayed on the screen.
Her face turned pale after reading off the screen.
Sure enough, there are some new photos that are more explicit than before, and it looked like Emilee
had seen it.
Amelie felt something was off in an instant. She then got up and went to the entrance of Emilee’s room
as soon as
possible.
She knocked on the door gently.
“Hey, Emilge, are you asleep?”
She knocked on the door constantly, but there was no response from inside.
She was worried sick but not dare to act without consent.
At this time, Lamont, who had finished packing his things, heard the noise and came over.
“Hey what’s wrong? Why so anxious?”
Amelie put away the phone quickly.
She was still thinking about whether to tell him about it. But Lamont was still a man, and letting him
know about this
would not be good for Emilee’s reputation.
Amelie wanted to keep Lamont in the dark, but she could only accomplish so much working alone. As
long as the
culprit was still out in the wild, Emilee would be threatened constantly. How long could this go on?
Amelie was in a dilemma.
But Lamont noticed her entangled heart, grabbed her hand, and walked to her side.
“I know you are hiding something from me and couldn’t solve it. Is there anything you wanted to tell
me?”
Lamont asked with a serious tone.
Moved by Lamont’s sincere gaze, Amelie finally decided to talk about it without revealing the photos,
just the issue.
Lamont’s expression turned serious after he heard about it, and he looked toward the room where
Emilee was.
“This is no small matter, first Cynthia, now Emilee? All the victims are close to you, and who knows, the
final prey might be you.”
Lamont’s thoughts resonated with Amelie.
Amelie kept quiet with tremendous pressure on her.
Lamont noticed it, and held her hand tightly.
“I will always be by your side. Rest assured.”
“Go to Emilee now, and please don’t do anything, irrational.”
Amelie finally came to her senses after hearing that, and took Lamont’s hand to the door quickly.
It took a lot of effort for the two of them to force the door open.
As soon as she walked in, Amelie saw Emilee lying quietly on the bed. Amelie thought Emilee was
asleep at first, but she soon noticed something was off.
They were arguing loudly outside, but Emilee was unfazed and wasn’t woken up by it.
A bad premonition came up to Amelie all of a sudden.
Could something bad have happened?
Amelie rushed forward and put her hand on Emilee.
Emilee was cold, and Amelie put her hand on the tip of her nose again and found Emilee’s slowed
breathing.
“No! This is bad! Emilee is in trouble!”
Amelie shouted anxiously and kept shaking. She attempted to wake Emilee up.
