Chapter 466: Welcome Home
After an entire afternoon, Qiao Yu was finally done with his work for the day. He checked the time and it was already 5 o’clock in the afternoon.
He put the documents aside, turned off his computer and walked out.
In the bedroom on the second floor, Enoch was asleep. But that person was not by his side. He frowned a little and walked straight to the first floor.
In the living room first floor, Gao Wanhua was sitting on the sofa reading. The entire first floor was so quiet, even the air felt lonely.
Qiao Yu walked down to see only Gao Wanhua in the living room. His eyes turned to look outside. There were only a few servants on the empty lawn.
“Mother!” Qiao Yu said suddenly.
Gao Wanhua turned around to see Qiao Yu in his casual clothes walking towards her. She closed her book and said with a smile, “Are you done with work? Why don’t you take a break?”
Qiao Yu walked to the sofa and sat down. He looked at his gentle mother and asked, “Where’s Xia Ning?”
“Xia Ning had something going on and stepped out.” Gao Wanhua stood up. “I’ll get you a coffee.”
Qiao Yu looked at his mother’s back and continued to ask, “What was it?”
Gao Wanhua went into the kitchen. After a short time, she walked out with a coffee. She put it in front of Qiao Yu.
But it was as if Qiao Yu did not see it, his eyes stayed fixed on Gao Wanhua.
Gao Wanhua sat down and looked at Qiao Yu. “What does it have to do with you?” she said with a smile.
Qiao Yu frowned a little, obviously not expecting his mother to say this.
“Let’s not mention that you two have nothing to do with each other. Even if you are still a couple, it does not mean you can interfere with her matters,” Gao Wanhua looked at her son and said with a sigh. “After all, it’s a matter of whether she still likes you or not. If she does, all these will not be a problem.”
Qiao Yu stared at his mother and said in a deep voice. “Mother, I know what you want to say. But I don’t want to think about it now. She’s Enoch’s mum, the person I like. There’s no way I can just watch her be with some other person.”
Gao Wanhua saw her son’s sullen face and sighed. “You are just like your father. But no matter what, I hope you can respect your wife.”
Qiao Yu went into a brief silence and continued to ask, “Where did she go?”
Gao Wanhua shook her head. “I don’t know. She got a call and went out. She seemed to be in a good mood. Must be a friend or something.”
Friend?! Qiao Yu frowned a little. Why didn’t he know she had any friends in S City other than Zheng Ziming? Did she go to see Zheng Ziming?
Seeing her son’s long face, Gao Wanhua somehow wanted to laugh. She did not expect her capable son to worry about his own relationship.
“She said to call her when Enoch’s awake. You can call her then,” Gao Wanhua said suddenly.
Qiao Yu darted a look at his mother and stood up to walk upstairs. “I’ll go check on Enoch!”
Gao Wanhua watched Qiao Yu’s back and smiled. This kid… When did he become so anxious?
In a rural part of S City, a black Rolls Royce drove into a quiet residential area. Eventually, it stopped at the innermost house.
Xia Ning got here earlier with the cab. She had been waiting in front of the house for nearly one hour. Seeing the car, she stood up and walked down the stairs. She watched the fashionable and brilliant man wearing sunglasses walk out of the car and curled her lips. “Music King Jin, welcome home!”
