Chapter 89: It’s None of Your Business (2)
When the minute hand moved slightly further from twelve, a silhouette pushed open the cafe door and entered.
The man was still as handsome and domineering as before. He was good-looking as well as charismatic. His appearance instantly captured most of the people’s attention, and their eyes flew to him. However, Zhao Youlin did not find the man before him pleasing to her eyes. Instead, she thought of him as none other than a beast.
If possible, she would rather not see him anymore in her life.
Mu Tingfeng ignored the crowd’s attention. He walked straight to Zhao Youlin’s table. He lowered his voice and said, “I’m sorry for being late. I’ve been delayed by some company affairs. I hope you did not wait long for me, right?”
There was not even the slightest bit of apologetic expression from Mu Tingfeng’s face even though he was apologizing to her.
Zhao Youlin’s anger was at its limit and exploded right after hearing his words.
‘What did he mean by I haven’t been waiting for long?! I’ve waited for an hour, okay?! Who is the one who mentioned that the appointment was fixed at eight o’clock in the morning, and that he would not wait for me if I came late?! How dare this rascal actually spew such nonsense as soon as we meet up when I haven’t even blamed him for turning up an hour late! Is he even a real man?!’
However, Zhao Youlin was not a fool to the point that she would argue with Mu Tingfeng in front of the crowd.
Even though Zhao Youlin did not make a fuss about it, Mu Tingeng had infuriated her. Her sharp tongue lashed out in a lowkey aggressive fashion.
“It’s true that I did not wait for long. It was merely an hour, after all. President Mu, you’re a busy man and it’s only natural to be busier than most folks like us. However, President Mu, let’s not forget that you’re the one who suggested the time,” Zhao Youlin said as she lifted her gaze and cast a mocking glance at Mu Tingfeng, “I thought you’ll be punctual since you’re the one who proposed the time. Unfortunately, it seems like I’ve looked too highly on you.”
Mu Tingfeng naturally caught sight of Zhao Youlin’s hint of fury appearing in her eyes. In fact, Zhao Youlin did not even notice them herself. Whenever she grew angry, her eyes, which carried a sense of haughtiness, sparkled.
She was just like a ruffled up phoenix spreading the feathers over its body on end, alert to its surroundings. At the same time, it raised its chin high and looked down on those who were deemed insignificant to it.
Mu Tingfeng sat down calmly. He ordered the same cup of coffee as Zhao Youlin’s in a graceful manner. After that, he sneered, “So, Ms. Zhao, you’ve been waiting here for more than an hour, I’m really sorry for that. I thought you’re used to coming an hour later just like last time. Therefore, I deliberately booked the time earlier. I never expected you to be punctual this time, Ms. Zhao.”
Zhao Youlin choked. The hint of frustration in her eyes intensified as she stared at Mu Tingfeng. ‘This rascal did it on purpose!’
Mu Tingfeng saw Zhao Youlin’s reaction. He took a sip of the coffee served to him happily.
‘So, it turns out that teasing a person is that fun, especially when she widens her eyes and glares at me.’ His heart fluttered slightly. The feeling was strange, yet he did not find it annoying.
“Where are my things?! You mentioned that as long as I personally come to collect them, you’ll return them to me!” Since the two of them did not share similar thoughts, Zhao Youlin went straight to the main point. She gritted her teeth to herself.
Meanwhile, Mu Tingfeng did not seem eager to talk to her about this. He lowered his head and looked at the steam coming out of the coffee.
He fell silent for some time, after that, he blurted out something that was totally unrelated to Zhao Youlin’s topic, “I heard that you were getting ready to open a pastry shop in the near future, right?”
