“Arthur, thank you.”
“You’re welcome. Any man would do that in a situation like this.”
“Shall I help you back to the cave to lie down?” Shi Qian pulled Arthur up.
Actually, Arthur was in so much pain that he couldn’t take it anymore. He still didn’t show much pain as he followed Shi Qian towards the cave with difficulty. As soon as they returned to the cave, Arthur lay on the ground.
“Go and pick up the coconut,” Arthur said to Shi Qian.
“Okay, I’ll be right back.” Shi Qian turned and ran in the direction where she had just picked the coconuts.
She looked again in the direction of the rising smoke. The ship that had exploded in the bow had also begun to sink to the bottom of the sea. The other ship was nowhere to be seen.
When they returned to the cave, Arthur fainted from the pain.
Shi Qian gently approached him and checked his condition.
Then, she looked behind him and lifted his clothes. She saw that he had just been injured in order to save her.
The area was covered in bruises, and it was swollen. It happened to be where his spine was. She wondered if he had hurt his spine.
Shi Qian raised her hand and pressed it.
Arthur’s body trembled, but he was still unconscious. It was obvious that he was in pain.
“Arthur, Arthur!” Shi Qian called out twice.
Arthur didn’t react.
Shi Qian wanted to open a coconut to moisten his mouth, but when she moved, the corner of her shirt was grabbed.
“No, don’t!” Arthur muttered as he shook his head.
“Don’t leave me alone! Don’t!”
“Arthur, wake up.”
“Mom…” Arthur called out.
“Mom, help me!”
“Don’t come over. Let me go. Mom…”
Arthur kept muttering. Shi Qian couldn’t leave. She could only reach out and gently stroke Arthur’s forehead.
Unexpectedly, as soon as she placed her hand on Arthur’s forehead, he stopped trembling.
Instead, he snuggled closer to her like a child.
After Shi Qian comforted him for a while, Arthur fell asleep.
How did Arthur get in touch with his people?
