Chapter 1576 Leaving the Pavilion of Knowledge

After he left, Senior Bai immediately sought an audience with Xu Jiaqi. Once they met, Senior Bai informed her of everything Yuan had done.

"He's already capable of fighting Divine Kings despite being only a Spirit King? I mocked him for his slow cultivation speed not long ago…" Xu Jiaqi wore an astonished expression on her beautiful face, something that rarely happened.

"Moreover, they're not ordinary Divine Kings, but real immortals with vast experience." Senior Bai sighed.

He continued, "Anyway, his monstrous talent is one thing. Killing a member of the Nine Heavens Law and Order is another. I'm afraid they might give him—us trouble in the future."

"About that… the Nine Heavens Law and Order have already acted." Xu Jiaqi suddenly said.

"What?" Senior Bai's eyes widened at this new information.

"The leader has already contacted the Demon Sealing Clan and Demon Sealing Grotto, and these two powerhouses have dispatched their experts," Xu Jiaqi explained.

"Isn't that really bad? What should we do?" Senior Bai asked.

Xu Jiaqi pondered for a moment before speaking, "We won't do anything until we need to. Let's just see where this goes."

"Are you sure? What if it's already too late by then?"

"Are you still underestimating Yuan after all this? He won't go down so easily, and we'll have more than enough time to react. Kelan will be with him, as well, no?"

Senior Bai nodded, "Kelan wishes to remain in the lower heavens a little longer."

"Permission granted. Make it his mission to protect Yuan, too. However, don't spoil him. Only act when absolutely necessary." Xu Jiaqi said.

"I understand."

"We also have a member within the Demon Sealing Clan. I'll notify him of the situation." Xu Jiaqi added.

Senior Bai nodded.

After talking a little longer, Senior Bai returned to Kelan to pass Xu Jiaqi's decision to him.

Meanwhile, the Nine Heavens went into turmoil after news that the Demon Sealing Clan and the Demon Sealing Grotto had dispatched most of their experts in some kind of expedition.

"Fuck, are we going to war with demons again?"

"No, they are looking for a single demon."

"What? They dispatched so many people for a single demon? Did they find the Demon Emperor that escaped previously?"

"Apparently, this one is even more dangerous."

"How long has it been since the Demon Sealing Clan's been this active?"

"It's been thousands of years… Unfortunately, their activity isn't something to be celebrated but dreaded."

Somewhere in the Demon Sealing Grand Library, a beautiful woman sat before a scroll with a ponderous face.

"I wonder how the founder's doing… Hopefully, I'll get to see him again soon." Yan Hara muttered to herself as she stared at the scroll with the demon's description.

As a Master Demon Sealer, she was also dispatched to the lower heavens.

Meanwhile, Yuan and Xi Meili spent several more hours at the Pavilion of Knowledge before leaving.

"Are you leaving already?" Xuan Kun asked them when he noticed them exiting the room.

"Yes, we've finished reading all of the materials." Yuan nodded.

"I see… I hope it was helpful to you."

"It was. I learned some new things about the Immortal Monarch and his companions—mostly about the Nine Divine Supremes."

"If you ever need information on anything, don't hesitate to visit our Pavilion of Knowledge. Here is our medallion. There are other 'Pavilion of Knowledge' in other places with different names, but they all serve the same purpose. Our Pavilion of Knowledge happens to be the first one to be founded." Xuan Kun handed him a purple medallion with an image of a pavilion and the word 'Knowledge' engraved into it.

"Thank you." Yuan accepted the medallion and tossed it into his spatial ring.

Xuan Kun shook his head and said, "No, I should be thanking you. Because of you, we know the Immortal Monarch is still alive out there somewhere. You have no idea how much this means to me—to many beast clans in the Nine Heavens." "What does it mean?" Xi Meili asked out of curioisty.

"Well, for starters, there will be a massive movement to find the Immortal Monarch soon." Xuan Kun revealed with a serious face.

Yuan raised an eyebrow and inquired, "And what will they do once they find him? The Immortal Monarch's era ended long ago."

"The Immortal Monarch's era may have ended, but some—many still revere him. He is akin to their god—a being above humans and beasts. His return will have unfathomable significance that I cannot even begin to comprehend." Xuan Kun spoke with a dazed look on his face.

"..." Yuan didn't know how to react to that and remained silent.

As they made their way downstairs, their presence caught Bai Ning's attention, who also appeared to be leaving.

"Where are you going after this?" Bai Ning asked him.

"I don't know." He shrugged.

"What about you?"

"I have to return to my family temporarily to report some things. Did you not notice the disturbance from earlier?" she asked with a raised eyebrow.

"I felt many powerful ripples, but I am not the type to stick my nose in other's business." Yuan replied with a smile.

"Good on you. It was a mess out there." Bai Ning sighed.

"Oh? What happened?" he asked with a curious face.

"A fight between immortals and some crazy bastard—the same bastard that beat my brother." Bai Ning clenched her fist as she recalled him.

"The masked individual? He was there? Did you avenge your brother?" Yuan asked with a worried face.

Bai Ning merely sighed at his question, her expression darkening with every passing moment.

"I see…" Yuan wore a look of understanding and didn't inquire further.

"Well, I hope you'll get to avenge your brother next time."

She vigoriously nodded, "I won't let him escape a third time!"

"Then I'll see you later."

After bowing to each other, Yuan left the Pavilion of Knowledge with Xi Meili, who tried hiding her face by looking away from Bai Ning.

Bai Ning stared at Xi Meili's back as she walked to the exit.

'She looks a little familiar… but from where?' she wondered inwardly.
