Jealous

The name displayed on Nico’s screen was “My Gorgeous Summer.”

Summer had previously changed her name on his phone while he was asleep. Additionally, she

forbade him from changing it back to what it was lest he incur her wrath.

Summer: I’m not returning home tonight. The officer you asked to keep an eye on me is pretty

handsome.

The more Nico reread the message, the stronger his fury burned.

The outside isn’t safe, especially for a woman. I can’t believe she wants to spend a night outside. Her

safety awareness is too low! Also, how dare she praise the officer I sent! I still remember the first time I

met her in that Erihal dungeon. The only thing she could see was me, and she wouldn’t stop calling me

handsome. Now, it feels like the vegetable I’ve spent so much time raising in my garden has been

eaten by a hog before I can harvest it! Immediately, he contacted the security officers at the Federal

Bureau of Investigation.

He did it to obtain the phone number of the officer he sent to protect Summer.

The officer’s name was Raymond Vought.

Raymond answered Nico’s call fairly quickly.

Immediately, Nico heard noisy music coming from the other end of the call. “Where are you, Raymond?

Are you still with Summer?”

Raymond couldn’t hear what Nico said clearly because of the loud disco music playing at his location.

Hence, he shouted, “What did you say? It’s very noisy here. I can’t hear you!”

Suppressing his rage, Nico raised his volume. “Is Summer with you right now?”

“Sum what? Do you have a mission for me? Please wait for a moment. I’ll call you again once I arrive

at the restroom.” Without delay, Raymond ended the call.

Nico was incensed. Based on what I heard, I think he’s at a bar. If Summer is still with him, I can’t

believe she wants to spend the night at a bar where there are plenty of bad men!

If it weren’t for the fact that most of his furniture and ceramic tableware were expensive gifts from

Cedrick, he would’ve started destroying his home.

After fuming for five minutes, his phone finally rang again.

Raymond then spoke. “Mr. Nico, I’m currently on the dance floor in Sparkly Bar. Ms. Rongster refuses

to leave, and I’m worried something will happen to her, so I’ve been following her.”

Still suppressing his rage, Nico questioned. Then why didn’t you call me earlier and ask me to pick her

up?”

“Weren’t you busy with work? I didn’t have the nerve to disturb you. Don’t worry. I chased all the men in

the bar who were drawn to her beauty and wonderful figure away.”

Nico gritted his teeth. “Don’t forget you’re a man, too. Touch her, and I’ll never forgive you.”

“Mr. Nico-

Without delay, Nico ended the call and hurried toward Sparkly Bar.

When Nico arrived at the colorful dance floor, he saw the tipsy Summer interacting with the DJ while

wearing a sexy miniskirt.

She danced enthusiastically on the stage, her cheeks red like an apple. Each of her moves gathered

the cheers of men below the stage as they ogled her.

Nico’s expression was so dark that it was about to turn black.

His skin tone had darkened significantly after going on a business trip with Cedrick at the border some

time ago. Hence, he was almost invisible in the dimly lit bar. Summer has always acted like an

obedient, domesticated cat in front of me and follows me around whermer I go. We’ve been together

for a long while, yet it’s only today that I’m aware she’s a great dancer. I must admit, her moves and

smile arouse me, but I don’t want any of these men watching her!

The look in Nico’s eyes turned cold as an icy fury enveloped him.

Raymond swiftly approached him. “You’re here, Mr. Nico.”

Staring at Summer, Nico gritted his teeth. “Is this how you’re protecting her? By allowing her to be

surrounded by men watching her?”

Misery was written all over Raymond’s countenance. “Please don’t trouble me too much, Mr. Nico. Ms.

Rongsler is too carefree. No matter how hard I tried, I couldn’t stop her from going wild after she got

drunk!”

“Get out of my face.”

“Okay.” Raymond turned around and slipped away. Then, he recalled something and returned to Nico’s

side. Kindly, he reminded, “Ms. Rongsler has been in a foul mood for the whole day, Mr. Nico. Once

you bring her home, you should properly communicate and not argue with her. If you can’t win, give in.

It won’t be embarrassing. Just don’t lose your future wife.”

Nico frowned and kicked Raymond’s butt. “I don’t need you to lecture me. Get out.”

Caressing his buttocks, Raymond fled, afraid that he would be punished if he stayed a second longer.

Nico stared at the sexy Summer on the stage, irritated. Then, he trudged toward the DJ and unplugged

the

wires.

The intense music abruptly ceased.

Everyone was confused about what had just happened before they suddenly turned to Nico. Moments

later, they started wondering who he was.

As Summer halted her dance moves, she spotted Nico’s scowl and stopped smiling. “Why are you

here? 1 told you I’m spending the night outside instead of home.”

Still furious, Nico barked, “Does that mean you’re planning to pick a man here and then sleep with him

at a hotel?”

Summer was shocked. “Am I that kind of easy woman in your eyes?”

His question genuinely wounded her. I’m finally feeling better after venting my frustration here at the

bar, yet he just had to barge into this place and ruin my mood again!

“Who I spend the night with has nothing to do with you! You’re so busy that you can’t even bother to

deal

with our engagement, so why did you come here to upset me?” Standing at the edge of the dance floor,

she pointed at the crowd of men staring at her from below. “I told you, Nico. I don’t necessarily have to

stay with you. Do you think any of these men down there wouldn’t sleep with me if I picked one of

them?”

The men below the stage cheered and played along with her. Many of them even enthusiastically

invited her to spend the night with them.

“Your dance moves are amazing, miss! It’ll be my honor if I can sleep with you tonight!”

“Look at me, miss! I got some moves, too. These other guys can’t possibly satisfy you, but I promise I

can.”

As Nico listened to the teasing from the crowd, he felt as though he was on the verge of exploding in

anger.

Turning around, he glowered at the delusional men below the stage. “I’m the deputy director of the

Federal Bureau of Investigation, Nico Jenson! She is my woman! If anyone dares to flirt with her again,

I’ll bring you to the Federal Bureau of Investigation tomorrow and have a chat with you there!”

The instagt he ended his threat, the building went so silent one could hear a pin drop.

Half a minute later, the men exchanged glances and backed down decisively.

“Erm… My wife’s preparing a chicken stew, so I’ll be heading home now.”

“Oh, wow, it’s already getting late. I’ll be taking my leave now. You guys have fun.”

“Oh, so she’s the future wife of the deputy director. I don’t think any of us are good enough for her. Let’s

scram.”

“I’m leaving, too.”

The crowd immediately scattered and left. In a few moments, only a few people were left in Sparkly

Bar.

Summer watched the men scamper away and spat with disdain, “Cowards! He didn’t even draw his

gun yet!”

Nico sneered, “You’re expecting too much from a group of indulgent playboys. I’m different because I

was forged in the crucible of battle. It’s natural they aren’t as courageous as me.”

Exasperated, Summer glared at him but couldn’t offer any refute.

That was the truth. All the men below the stage were fearful of Nico, the deputy director of the Federal

Bureau of Investigation. As such, none of them dared to offend him.

Her thin frame trembled with fury, and her eyes reddened again as aggrievedness coursed through her.

Nico sighed, his heart instantly melting as he stared at the pitiful sight of her. Proactively, he removed

his coat and settled it on her shoulders.

Softening his tone, he said, “Can you stop messing around, Princess? Let’s head home now. The men

outside are too dirty. They aren’t as clean as me.”

Enraged, Summer tossed his coat back to him. “So what if you’re clean? The only thing you seem to

care about is work! It’s always about work for you! Why don’t you marry the Federal Bureau of

Investigation instead?”
