Callum rose to his feet. He lifted Camryn’s white cane and handed it to her. Then, he held her and
walked.
Trenton stood up as well. As he watched Camryn turn around and leave, his lips parted and he
whispered, “Camryn.”
It was not known whether Trenton’s call was left unheard or Camryn chose to ignore him. She neither
stopped nor turned her head around.
After pausing for a moment, Trenton stood up as Camryn was about to walk out of the cafe. He swiftly
caught up with her and shouted, “Camryn.”
This time, Camryn stopped in her tracks.
However, she did not turn around.
Everyone in the cafe turned their eyes to Camryn and Trenton.
“Go and buy whatever you need. Book your flight in advance. I’ll arrange for a driver to pick you up on
the day of your departure. You can move to my house if you want. It’ll forever be your home.”
With that, Camryn strode away.
“I’m sorry, Camryn.”
Trenton apologized to her loudly.
He should not have teased Camryn just now.
Indeed, Camryn had been indifferent to him as far as he could recall. She was cold and distant, always
looking nonchalant.
Nevertheless, Camryn slowly started to treat Trenton as her brother considering his concern for her.
Beneath her indifferent expression lay her love for him.
Having heard many negative things about Camryn, Trenton questioned and teased her. He felt that he
deserved the slap from Camryn.
When Callum asked Trenton whether Camryn was wrong, Trenton dared not blame Camryn.
Trenton’s parents and sister had committed illegal acts. They would still have to receive legal
punishment even if Camryn had not sued them.
What was more, his mother and Carrie went to jail because they turned against Camryn. On the other
hand, Trenton’s father was sent to jail because Camryn submitted evidence of him murdering her
father.
Trenton sympathized with his father.
His father was still alive, waiting for the trial.
Camryn was worried about her father, who had long died because of the cruelty dealt by Trenton’s
parents. It was said that Camryn was only two when her father died.
A two-year-old kid knew nothing, yet she was already devoid of fatherly love. After Camryn’s mother
remarried, Camryn was seen as a thorn in the side.
At the thought of his parents and Carrie’s treatment of Camryn, Trenton’s face turned red. Camryn was
nice enough not to criticize him. What gave him the right to tell Camryn off?
“I’m sorry, Camryn. It was my fault. I shouldn’t have criticized you that way. Sorry!”
Trenton apologized to Camryn solemnly.
Camryn still did not turn around. She just said coldly, “I’m not mad. You don’t have to be guilty. I can
understand why you thought of me that way. Having said that, you’ll soon be an adult, Trenton. You
must have your own stand and learn how to distinguish right from wrong. Don’t be led by the nose or
be taken advantage of.
“When you don’t trust your own sister, can you trust your aunts and cousins? You’re still young, and
you’ve never managed Newman Enterprise. You don’t know what they’ve done to the company and
taken how much money from it.”
