Sophia said, “Yeah. The Yorks raised outstanding children.”
Since Kevin was wooing her daughter and had his doubts about her daughter’s gender, Sophia finally
saw hope again.
Sophia had always admired Kevin.
“Donald, what’s your take about Kevin seeing through Hay’s disguise? She’s been playing a man for
over two decades. I wouldn’t believe she’s a woman if she didn’t come from my womb. Hay puts on a
convincing show.”
“What did Hay say?”
“Apparently, Kevin had a gut feeling that she wasn’t a man.”
Donald gleefully praised Kevin once more. “The boy has a discerning eye and a keen intuition. He’s
definitely raised well.”
Sophia had no words.
“Honey, it doesn’t matter how Kevin saw through Hay’s disguise. The only thing that matters is that
Kevin doesn’t swing the other way, and he’s pursuing our daughter. I’m in favor of this son-in-law.”
“Me too.”
Sophia grew certain that Kevin would make a good son-in-law.
Although nothing concrete had happened between Kevin and Hayden, Sophia already saw Kevin as a
son-in-law.
In the dark about her parents accepting Kevin as a son-in-law, Hayden sat in silence on the sofa for a
while until there was a knock on the door. She got up to open the door.
Hugh stood outside the door.
“Are you okay, Hayden?”
Hugh asked with concern, “I saw Kevin going downstairs on his own. He looked happy, so I was
worried he might have done something to you.”
He examined his sister. His mind was at ease when he was certain Hayden was unharmed, and her
clothes were in order.
“How could he have done anything to me? I was only getting my point across to Mr. Kevin. I am a man,
and I couldn’t possibly accept his courtship. I told him to move on to another man.”
Hayden replied as she walked out of the suite and shut the door behind her.
“The party isn’t over yet. Come on.”
It did not slip Hayden’s mind that she was here for a social event. It was unlike before when she could
enter the room and take off her façade to rest.
Hugh walked with his sister.
Soon, the siblings were back at the venue.
“Mr. Hayden.”
Hearing the beautiful voice, Hayden’s security detail encircled Hayden to stop the woman from
approaching.
It was none other than Celine.
Celine dolled up with more bling than the true heiress of the Fisher, Caroline. Still, Celine made sure to
carry herself with class.
She grew up in the Fisher family and was showered with their love. The head of the household took
Celine under her wing to show her the ropes of becoming the next leader. Twenty-eight years of
education should have some effect on Celine.
“Mr. Hayden.”
Celine glanced at the Queens’ bodyguards before fixating on Hayden. With a smile, Celine uttered, “Mr.
Hayden, I thought I should have a glass or two with you. I’m not trying to pull anything. Can you tell
your bodyguards to let me through?”
While Hayden appreciated Caroline, the fake heiress, Celine, rubbed Hayden the wrong way.
