Chapter 3449 Laying Waste To The Northern Sphere Bandits

"Destroy them."

A brown-haired youngster reached out with his hand and commanded. His sharp brows were like swords, and he possessed a chiseled nose that accentuated his handsome looks. Clad in a purple robe, he appeared quite regal but looked gaudy with his pretentious smirk.

He had the design of a red scythe etched on his purple robe, indicating his rank.

"Yes!"

Resounded a group of seventeen purple-robed people who stood in the air, maintaining a perfect amount of distance from each other as they appeared to be in a battle formation. They consisted of men and women, but they all had the design of a pitch-black sickle on their purple robes that indicated that they all had the same rank except the two at the center.

They had the symbol of a white scythe imprinted on their robes.

As their booming voices fell and spread across the region, light energy brimmed from their bodies and flooded the area. However, the light energy was most concentrated around them, appearing to shape into a hexagonal nexus.

Then, the energy gathered was concentrated at four points in the hexagonal nexus, gathering before four of the seventeen purple-robed people before they waved their hands, causing light to be unleashed as four beams pierced through the skies and struck a few structures, causing them all to be disintegrated in a few seconds.

Peak-Level Immortal King undulations reverberated in the atmosphere, but the prowess of each of those light rays was as powerful as a Level Three Immortal Emperor, causing utter chaos in this region.

"Escape!"

Many people escaped for their lives.

They were clad in ragged clothes, but they weren't innocent at all.

They were bandits who plundered, pillaged, and did atrocious things to anyone who was unfortunate enough to appear in their path. They would lie in wait and pounce on unsuspecting people or merchants, anyone who may seem like an easy target, and do as they please with them.

These bandits belonged to the Northern Sphere Bandits. They lorded over the region with utter arrogance, plundering all who dared to take their path as it was a way to many other regions. Other than the major powers they steered clear of, for the most part, they dared to take advantage of anyone.

Even Mid-Level Immortal Emperor Grade Powers have been robbed clean by them,

But today, such arrogant and devious bandits were fleeing for their lives with fear visible on their faces. They have been attacked by major powers, only if at all they caused some mess, but it was never to a point where they were hunted down until every one of them was being cleaned up like they were trash.

Just as one of them made it to the other side of the mountain and jumped into a valley, a ray of light descended and struck them, causing a hold to form on their dantian.

Their immortal vessel was wiped.

At the same time, the light energy that inflicted a grave wound began to grow on them like poison before it engulfed their entire being, causing them to be burned alive. Their screams didn't even reach their throat before their lives were snuffed out like flames.

*Shi~* *Shi~* *Shi~*

Thousands of light spears fell on the fleeing bandits, piercing them and burning them, managing to kill hundreds and thousands of bandits in a few hours.

"Don't leave anyone alive. Kill them all~"

A green-haired woman clad in a purple robe waved her hand.

Like the brown-haired man, this woman also had a red scythe emblem on her purple robe, indicating her rank. Her face was expressionless, but one could see the excitement seething out of her eyes as she gave that command.

It was as though she loved bestowing righteous punishments on the bandits below her.

"Starlily, I've sent every one of them to you. Make sure to take care of them."

An earring over her left ear rumbled and released a transmission into her ears, allowing her to hear the voice of a man.

"No one asked for your help, Legion Captain Lightsky."

"Aiya, don't be like that. I-"

"Now, if you'll excuse me."

Legion Captain Starlily excused herself as she raised her hand, pointing her fingers at the skies. Along with the innumerable rays of spears, her light energy burst forth from her index finger and unfurled into light arrows, making a quick curve before they rained down on the bandits.

The light arrows were quite slow, unlike the rays of light spears, but they targeted the enemies well, as they never missed, even if they hid behind an obstacle.

Blood splashed sometimes, but most of the time, her light arrows just ended up vaporizing the opponent to death.

With that, she raked in more contribution points than Legion Captain Lightsky ever could.

"Our points…"

The soul warriors under Legion Captain Lightsky looked a bit despondent as they saw their targets being spoon-fed to the other division belonging to Legion Captain Starlily. They couldn't help but glance at their captain, wondering how he could forget them like this.

*Bzzz!~*

Suddenly, they sensed enormous undulations spread over to their side from a distance, causing numerous heads to turn.

"Legion Master!"

Familiar with this aura, they quickly bent their knees, not caring if the output of the battle formation would be reduced.

Even the two Legion Captains looked towards the sky and knelt on one knee, welcoming Davis as he made his way to them on a flying boat. The flying boat flew away, but Davis descended into his soul body.

He eventually made his way down to their level and looked around, seeing the main hideout of the Northern Sphere Bandits become wrecked beyond compare. Their structures were decimated, their defensive formations broken, and their lives snuffed out every second, leaving him quite speechless.

His Reaper Soul Legion took missions from the Aurora Cloud Gate to gain contribution points, but depending on their performance, he also allocated contribution points through Yotan, so he has yet to witness their growth personally.

His gaze moved and fell on the light-attributed battle formation they were currently using to kill the bandits.

"This is…?"

He gestured with his hand but then realized they were still kneeling.

"Stand up."

Only after his words fell did his people stand up and go to their tasks, but the two Legion Captains remained in front of him, their previous expressions nowhere to be seen as they maintained the decorum of an expert in front of him.

"Does Legion Master mean the battle formation?"

Legion Captain Lightsky's gaze flickered, "If that's the case, then allow me to introduce you to the Luminous Nexus Phalanx Formation. It needs seventeen people, two at the center where the core nodes are located and fifteen people at the surrounding edges, occupying the remaining fifteen nodes for it to display its true prowess."

"Indeed." Legion Captain Starlily continued, "As Legion Master can see, both our divisions use the Luminous Nexus Phalanx Formation, which allows us to divert the energy of the entire division to five members while being boosted by the core nodes helmed by the Vice Captains. It is a perfect battle formation for the members of our division, especially when it allows us captains to act alone."

Davis nodded as he saw the two divisions of his Reaper Soul Legion.

Excluding himself, his Reaper Soul Legion had fifty-six members in total.

Legion Commander Yotan was the overall leader if he stood on the sidelines, leaving Vice Legion Commander Threelotus at the helm. She was actually the one who chased the Northern Sphere Bandit Emperor and made short work of him, causing him to escape.

He felt that cheerful girl chasing down a man should surely be a golden sight, causing him to almost laugh.

Nonetheless, as he saw the Luminous Nexus Phalanx Battle Formation, he admitted it was almost perfect.

He had borrowed a lot of spirit formation from Myria already and went through it but just didn't have the time to study it, so upon learning the name of the battle formation, he knew what this formation was.

The two Vice Captains helmed the twin main cores inside this formation, requiring absolute focus and control, which allowed the battle formation to be three shifts when needed, although all were active at the same time. The first was the protective shift that shifts all the energy to five soul warriors that helm the particular nodes, which generates light barriers to shield against enemies, allowing them to defend against even Level Three Immortal Emperors.

Likewise, the second shift allows the Luminous Nexus Phalanx to take down enemies using precise light energy strikes that manifest as light spears. Its prowess was such that even Zanqua could be killed if she got caught off guard.

The last and third shift, helmed by the last five, allows the Luminous Nexus Phalanx Battle Formation to be capable of maneuverability and illusions.

This battle formation allowed for dual coordination between the main cores for extreme control over light energy; diverse tactics like offense, defense, and escapability made sure the Luminous Nexus Phalanx survived even the attacks from a Level Four Immortal Emperor.

He also knew this wasn't even their best formation as the Legion Captains themselves had yet to take part in it, not that they had any place to enter as the nodes were limited and could only eject the Vice Captains, but still, he knew they wouldn't enter this formation as their individual prowess might alone have reached this formation's level or even more.

If they ended up joining with their divisions in a formation, then he could tell that their prowess might entirely burst into the Mid Immortal Emperor Stage!

Davis was appreciative of his Reaper Soul Legion, never ceasing to strive forward even though he hadn't bothered with them much, imagining that this was all or mostly Yotan's work.

"Where is Threelotus- Hmm? What is this item?"

Davis was about to ask the general direction in which Threelotus headed to capture the Northern Sphere Bandit Emperor even though he was somewhat certain as he could follow the trace, but then suddenly noticed Legion Captain Starlily's earring, which was shaped like a yin jade stone.

It was different than anything he had seen, causing him to raise his hand and touch it.

"…"

Legion Captain Starlily froze as Davis's hand was inches away from her face.

"This is a messaging talisman? Did the Reaper Soul Legion ever commission this item? Why didn't I hear about this matter? Where does it connect to- oh…"

"Where does it connect to- oh…"

Davis asked as he activated the jade stone, but his voice could be heard from Legion Captain Lightsky's ring. It even seemed to be on his ring finger, causing Davis to blink as he put his hand down and glanced at Legion Captain Starlily.

"I thought you became a spy."

"Never!"

Legion Captain Starlily clenched her fists despite lowering her head, appearing suspicious, but Davis knew what was happening.

"My apologies. I hadn't been interacting with you all and was selfishly depending on Yotan, so this item seemed extremely suspicious at a glance."

"No, it's my fault for not reporting the usage of this item. I'll break it."

Legion Captain Starlily raised her hands and tried to remove the earring from her left ear, but Davis waved his hand.

"Forget it. I don't want to incur Lightsky's wrath by having you destroy his courting gift. Instead, you can tell me in which direction Threelotus left."

"…"

Legion Captain Lightsky felt his face burn, but he could only remain silent, not daring to speak out. Legion Captain Starlily also blushed as she recognized that the Legion Master seemed to have found out.

She trembled ever so lightly and pointed in the direction Davis's flying boat proceeded, causing Davis to nod.

"Thought so."

He disappeared, appearing to have dispersed his soul body.

"…"

Legion Captain Starlily's trembling only rose in magnitude before she pointed at the other captain.

"Lightsky, I hate you!"

"What did I do…?"

Legion Captain Lightsky scratched his head as he watched her leave to another area to hunt the fleeing bandits, not knowing if he embarrassed her in front of the Legion Master or if she had feelings for the Legion Master and he ruined her chances, making his expression turn somber.

It wasn't anything new that more than half the women in the Reaper Soul Legion fantasized about getting together with the Emperor of Death, and the Emperor of Death himself was a womanizer, so romance here, although not forbidden, was quite risky as the Emperor of Death could just say for them to come to his bed and most likely more than half of them wouldn't resist but might even gladly leap at the chance to warm his bed.

Although he had never heard of Starlily having such feelings for the Emperor of Death, he recalled the scene of him almost touching her face when he grabbed his gift, causing him to grit his teeth in unsurety and command his division to continue slaughtering the bandits much more fiercely than before.
