Chapter 79: Allies

Several black shadows strolled idly across the bloody street. They had the same pointy ears as Sunier’s, but totally different temperament from her. They were covered with dark black all over their bodies, including their hair, pupils, soft armors, and even the long bows crossed their backs, while their faces were pale, giving others a feeling of shocking and horrible against the black background.
The leader of the elves came to Youkedo and bent down, looking for something. When she found the crystal seal from his corpse, a smile crept on her face. She cast a glance aside and fixed her eyes on the roof, the place where Sunier was squatting. “We meet again, Sunier.” She said in a soft voice.
The knights of Beitman had been killed out, while the vampires were not contented. They were going to attack Moxinke standing at the gate, but stopped when hearing the elf’s words.
“Why do you come here?” Sunier replied coldly.
“Do you forget the Silver Horse Regiment twenty years ago? We are learning from you, ho ho…”the elf smiled.
“Humph, Zaganide claimed himself invincible, does he need to learn from others?!” Sunier sneered.
“You are not kind to me.” The elf let out a light sigh. “Though I don’t mind, you must keep it in mind that you can’t achieve forgiveness every time. If you can’t be responsible for your own tongue, it will bring you disaster sooner or later.”
Sunier just grunted. She didn’t bicker with her anymore. The black elves held all the trumps, so Sunier had no intention to provoke conflict with them.
“I can feel the hostility in your heart. I don’t know why.” The elf said softly again, “Lord Zaganide is not as bad as you think, neither is Dismark a good person as you expect.”
“At least Dismark was our ally.” Sunier replied lightly.
“What a great ally.” The elf began to laugh, “Twenty years ago, Lord Kassa got the loyalty from several Red Dragons, but he was still killed by Dismark at last. We all know if it were not the Silver Horse Regiment and the group of elves who penetrated into the rear of Kassa’s troops and launched constant attacks at all costs, the ultimate loser must be Dismark! But… What did you get after such disastrous sacrifice?”
Sunier fell into silence.
“In accordance with the contract, you should split Kassa’s territory evenly. But Dismark occupied at least eighty percent of the land, leaving you only twenty percent wastelands. And the great amount of money and military supplies left by Kassa after several decades accumulation in Ancheng were also pocketed by Dismark alone.” The elf laughed, “What’s more, he didn’t expand his territory immediately even he had gotten so much benefits. Instead, he chose to invade westward and launched pincer attack with Wild Willow City against Lord Zaganide. How ridiculous it was. If it were not for that, would this war occur now? Wild Willow City refused Dismark’s ask for help this time. I personally very agree with such a wise decision. There is no need to cooperate with a person like Dismark.”
Sunier still said nothing. No one could see her face hidden behind her mask. But it’s easy to imagine how terrible her expression would be.
“There is no eternal enemy in this world.” The elf smiled, “Lord Zaganide appreciates your attitude very much. I think it’s time for us to be friends.”
“Friends?Ha…” laughed Sunier due to extreme anger, “How many clansmen have been killed by Zaganide? Do you expect me to forget this?”
“You killed our people too, didn’t you?” The elf said in a slow way: “Do not be as myopic as Dismark. Take a long-term view.”
“It will be real myopic if I make friends with you!” Sunier sneered, “Zaganide carries no good will even if he wants to make up with us. He is now faced with the attacks both from Dismark and Beitman, and must be afraid that Wild Willow would benefit from the disorder. If he survives this crisis, will he stillbe our friend?”
“Stop the crap with them, Hazel. Leave them to me.” A vampire came over, grinning.
“Don’t stir up trouble.” The elf frowned. “Our task is to destroy the heavy weapons of Beitman!”
The vampire was stunned, and then roared angrily, “Are you commanding me, Hazel?”
A gleam of cold light flashed across her eyes. But she didn’t argue with the vampire anymore due to their special identities. She let out a helpless sigh and turned around. The other elves followed her in a hurry.
The vampire stared at the view of her back with cold eyes. “Kill them!” He suddenly waved his hand and shouted. His voice was loud, as if he was demonstrating his power against her.
The group of vampires rushed forward like a swarm of bees. Moxinke roared immediately and released his protective strength of fighting. He had to fight until the last second with those creatures.
Suddenly, a loud sound of explosion occurred in the midair. Rays of golden light stroked across the sky of hundreds of meters in length like countless arrows. The vampires all stopped. Shrill cries resounded in the village one after another. Two of the vampires even fell down, swinging their arms desperately to block away something. They must be afraid of the rays of pervasive golden light.
When the golden light dispersed, the appearance of the vampires had also gone through dramatic changes. Numerous wounds like anabrosis appeared on their skin, from which black and sticky liquid was flowing out.
Han Jin stepped forward slowly from behind Moxinke. He looked calm and impassive, but his heart was overwhelmed with anxiety. He knew clearly the might of his Charm of Pure Light. If it was used to attack the ghosts released by himself, it could make the ghosts turn into ashes and disappear in an instant. While the vampires shocked him. They were just injured on their skin, and their fighting capacity were unaffected!
“We don’t want to make friends with you, nor do we want to be enemies of you.” Han Jin said coldly, “Leave us alone before I change my mind! Otherwise, I don’t mind making the world more clean!”
The vampires had turned against with those elves just for some trifles even though they were teammates. It’s enough to prove that they were brutal creatures and would not listen to any facts and reasons. Only overwhelming power could conquer them.
“Hazel… Hazel!” The head of the vampires cried in a hurry.
The other vampires all turned a few steps back. They were not afraid of soldiers or magicians, but priests were their natural enemies. What’s more, the tone of Han Jin was very tough, tricking them into a feeling that Han Jin had no intention to hurt them and had only taught them a lesson, but things would be different if they were unappreciative.
Hazel turned around, cast a deep glance at Han Jin, and smiled. She responded nothing to the vampire, but just walked outside the village.
“Let’s go!” said the head of the vampires with his teeth clenching. Without the elves to deal with the troublesome priest, the result of them was undoubtedly turned into ashes under the holy light if they insisted on fighting against the priest. They would never make such a foolish decision.
