" What's wrong? Aren't you coming, Madison?" Xander asked, holding the key in his hands. I acted
calm and walked. Veronica's bodyguards don't know Xander's house. They aren't going to find us here.
I will reply to Henry later.
" So, aren't you gonna help? I'm not good with the left hand." He said, dropping the key in my hands.
" Oh, I guess I forgot again," I inserted the key, opened the door and looked at the breathtaking house.
Each and everything in the hall looks more expensive. I admired the chandelier on the ceiling. There's
also a stair going upstairs to a room.
" Your house is magnificent," I smiled at him.
" Well, I'm thinking the same and wondering if I really lived here," He replied and looked at the
surrounding for the first time.
" Henry said my room is upstairs," Xander walked up to the stairs. I followed him, looking at some
portraits. All I can see is family photos and even his photo with Veronica. He didn't pay much attention
to the photos.
" This is where I live. But did I lived alone?" He asked me as I have been with him.
" How will I know? Let's find out," I said, walking straight to the balcony. The view from here is amazing.
I ran my hand over the glass railing. I never thought I even get to stay here for atleast two hours. I'm
not desperate to stay in a mansion but anyone would love it if we got a chance.
" I thought you will be helping me find out about myself," Xander stood behind, whispering in my ears.
" I'm helping,"
" By staring at the sky. I like this view. I will admire it too if I remember everything about myself," He
said, placing his hand on my shoulder.
" You would have already admired this view a long time ago. It still exists somewhere in your memories.
You will remember it all." I assured him and turned to face him. His eyes are fixed on mine.
" What are we going to search? Any photos or any documents or what?" I muttered walking away from
him to his room. He signed and followed me.
" There's a laptop here. It must be mine. I will try to find something from it," He seated on his bed with
his laptop. I walked to his bookshelves. I love to read but I don't have enough money to have a
collection. But he has it all.
I should be helping him, not exploring the bookshelves. I convinced myself and opened a cupboard
next to the bookshelves. Oh, god. He's not living alone. This house belongs to Xander and Veronica.
How could I not guess this?
" Xander, are you thinking that you lived alone here?"
" Yeah, I must be. I'm not yet married to that girl," He replied casually.
" I don't think so. You both have been living together." I said, showing the cupboard. Both of their
clothes are in it on each side. This is just much of proof. Xander and Veronica are together when they
came to the dinner. There's no one else for them here. He wouldn't have left her somewhere alone.
" I didn't come here to know about me and Veronica. She's one more problem for me right now. I
already have enough." He replied, searching for something on his laptop.
I wondering what you will say when you get your memories back, Xander. Will she be your problem or
will I be a problem to you? I don't have an answer and I don't want an answer too. I don't want the
same thing to repeat in my life. He hated me once, that should be enough for this life.
" What did you found out? It's going to be two hours. You haven't moved from the bed?" I asked Xander
after spending all the time near his bookshelves.
" I found out more about the job I'm working in. I also got access to all my bank accounts. And I opened
all the bookmarked tabs. It's all related to wedding preparation. Was I desperate to marry Veronica?"
" You once know it, Xander. This engagement must be planned for a very long time. I'm not sure, just
guessing."
" It must be," He closed the laptop, tried of searching.
" What do you think? Do you want to marry her?"
" Right now, my answer is no. No matter how much I wanted this marriage to happen, that's not going
to change my mind. I should call off this engagement. I don't know her. I didn't even remember her
face. No one should blame me for this decision. It was an unexpecting happening." He explained,
running his hand over his hair.
" Your parents will understand. You need more time to know yourself,"
Suddenly, I heard someone's voice downstairs. Xander and I are the only ones staying here. Oh, shit. I
didn't lock the door. I left the room to find two unknown guys. They are in suit and tie. This should be
them. The substitute person to take care of Xander until Veronica's back. I don't want to leave him.
He's here with me after all these years. I'm not losing him.
" You must be Madison. Where's Xander? He's not supposed to leave the hospital." one of them
shouted at me from the entrance. From all I can see, they don't have any weapons with him. Veronica
will go to any level to get rid of me. Maybe even kill me and go to jail.
" That's none of your business. Get out of here," I said, walking down the stairs.
" We should say that. You should leave this house now. He's no longer your concern anymore. You
may not know, but we have been working under him for many years. Leave this house now. I'm trying
to be polite." The other person said.
" She's not leaving without me. You said that you have been working for me. If that's true, you both
should leave. Not a request, but an order. Go back and never come here again." Xander walked down
and spoke boldly even when he has no idea who they are.
" This is an order from your fiancée, sir. It's better if you come with us. We will arrange a professional
doctor, therapist or anyone who could help you recover from the memory loss. Don't deny this," One of
them offered Xander. They know all that Xander wants is to get his memories back. And this must be a
great opportunity.
" I don't want any help from you. I'm capable of doing it alone. Leave before I lose my temper," Xander
talked patiently while he slipped his hands to my wrist, pulling me protectively towards him.
" You are not understanding anything. You got less than ten days for your wedding. You can't run away
from your past and stay with some stranger." The other one said, glaring at me like he might kill me if
he gets a choice.
" The only strangers standing in the room is you. Get the hell out of here," Xander started losing his
temper.
" That's not going to happen. We don't want your permission anymore. We will do this on our way and
one day, you will know it's all for your good," Both of them approached me. They have no intentions to
harm Xander. Their only target is me. And I know Xander is strong enough to stop them.
I'm not sure if they have any weapon with them. Instead of running or freaking out, all I did was staying
close to Xander. But I was wrong thinking they have a weapon with them. It wasn't the bodyguards but
Xander.
Xander instantly let go of my wrist and took a gun from behind him.
" If you take one more step towards her, I will shoot you both." He pointed it at them. Whether he got a
practice in shooting or not, his aim looked perfect to me.
