" I'm not getting in. I'm going to Sofia's house." I refused.
" Get inside, Madison Grace or I will walk with you," He said. He never used my full name.
I'm still feeling so cold in the heavy rain. But I'm not getting in. Xander came outside in the heavy rain.
" I'm not coming to your house, Xander."
" It's ours, Madison. Still ours. Always ours." He replied, taking my hands in his.
" Why do you even come out in this time?" He asked.
" Henry told you got your memories back and you are going to see Veronica. My phone slipped out of
my hand and crashed. So, I couldn't ask him any other question. I came to the therapist house to find
you but you already left. Then, I found you in the cafe with her."
" You should have stayed at home, Madison. I'm not leaving you. Sofia came to see me. Even she
thought I would leave you. I only went to end things with Veronica. She tried to manipulate me with
some lies. But that's not working. Even after ending things with her, I don't want to see her ever again. I
fired her. These are all the things I have done. You misunderstood, babe." Xander explained
everything. I really lost myself in fear.
" I didn't know that. Didn't your old memories makes you hate me?"
" No. I trusted Veronica and hated you. I still remember the moment when I said I don't want to see you
ever again. I don't even know if I deserve to be forgiven."
" I forgive you, Xander. You didn't do anything on purpose. But I didn't think you will fire her from her
job," All my anger vanished in some seconds. If I didn't drop my phone, Henry would have explained
everything clearly.
" I'm not getting back from my word. She should be out of our life for good. All these years have been
wasted because of the wrong person. I don't want to repeat the cycle again."
" You won't. Let's not talk about the past ever again. We can get back to the way we were."
" Yeah, it's better this way."
" But I have one thing to ask. You liked me before Veronica came in. You didn't me when I kiss you for
the first time. Am I right?"
" How do you know? I didn't tell anyone."
" Yes, you did. You told James. He's depressed after you lost your memory. Call him tomorrow and
make him feel better,"
" I have to make things right with everyone. I looked at James like he's a stranger to me. I should have
atleast acknowledged his presence."
" You can do it now and make your parents feel better. They miss you,"
" Yeah, I will do that. Right now, I'm glad I got back with you."
" We never got apart. I misunderstood in the first place. And I think I mentioned I broke the phone. Are
you okay with it? Will you buy me another one?"
" I would buy you a phone if you even if you threw it on purpose,"
" I would never break something on purpose," I laughed. Finally, feeling like myself. My suffering days
are over for good. Suddenly, the driver called us to get inside. I would have said 'yes' now. But Xander
stopped me.
" I don't think I can wait for a perfect moment. This should be the right one," Xander said, getting on his
one knee and took a ring box from his pocket. He's not doing this here. Really? Actually, I don't want
any other grand proposal that will be special than standing in the rain.
" I was planning for this all these days but the perfect moment never came. I will hate myself if I didn't
do this now," Xander opened the ring box and I looked at the diamond ring.
" Madison Grace, will you do me the honour of becoming my wife? " He proposed to me as I stared at
his face in shock. He's fully wet in the rain just like me. He looked more beautiful right now. As water
dripped from his hair, we waited for me to say 'yes'.
" Yes, Xander. A hundred times yes." I happily said, watching him put the ring on my finger.
" I love you, Madison. I can't wait to get married." He stood up, pulled me closer and kissed me
passionately.
" I love you, Xander. I always did."
" I'm sorry that the proposal wasn't that special,"
" What? What's more special than this, Xander? I never wanted a proposal in front of everyone with
extraordinary decorations and surroundings." I said, cherishing the moment. The cold doesn't bother
me right now. Xander is here to hold my hands.
" I'm glad you like it. I wasn't in a state to delay the proposal." He said with his forehead touching mine.
" I'm sorry to disturb you, sir. But if you don't get in, you will be sick." The driver interrupted us again.
" We need some time here," I replied to him.
" I thought you are freezing," Xander asked.
" Not now. I want to stand here as long as we can," I pressed my lips to his lips again. I savoured the
moment.
" You are mine," He caressed my wet cheek and took a moment to gaze at me.
" I'm yours," I replied, biting his lips and kissing him again. Like I said, the one incident. An unexpected
accident changed everything. An accident was supposed to be a bad thing. But everything happens for
a reason. And this was the reason. Today, I'm sure I will never suffer from my nightmare again. I
passed through all the pain and it's all healed.
I intertwined my hand with his hand, knowing I'm not alone anymore.
