Chapter 132132. The Grand Night- 1
The car stopped in front of the pack house where the party was held. The party was to start at the
middle of the night. The timing was perfect to see the glowing full moon.
"So, we get down now?" Patricia asked Justin after a few seconds of silence in the car after they
reached the pack house.
Many cars were parked outside the pack house which said that many guests from neighbouring packs
came to witness the marking ceremony of their Luna leader. It was going to be a grand night.
"No, we won't until you both put this on." Justin said from the front of the car. He turned around and
handed something to each of them specifically.
When they looked at it clearly, they saw that it was a beautiful mask on their hands. They both looked
at it with a small confusion before sharing the same look with her.
"Dominic or none of you told me it was a mask party. Why do we need to wear a mask?" Athena voiced
out her confusion while looking back and forth between the mask and Justin.
"Oh, we didn't? My bad but what else to do except?! It's the ceremony of the LUNA LEADER, mate of
the alpha leader of the North, Alpha Dominic. He definitely wasn't going to show your face to everyone
just yet. So, that's the only way. Also, I would like to warn yourselves to contain any kind of curiosity
and mischievousness within you only, don't try to show your face from the mask, it's not going to end
up well enough for you." Justin warned while squinting his eyes at his mate.
"Okay, so she is going to be around all the people present in the room but her face will be hidden
behind the mask?" Patricia asked while checking out the mask in her hand.It was red in colour and is going to hide both of her eyes and the right side of her face, the other half
was bare for everyone to see but they won't be able to recognise her if she wears it.
On the other hand, Athena's mask was really beautiful. It's going to cover her full face with a lot of
artistic patterns drawn in the red mask with a golden border, matching her dress perfectly.
"You are right. They might be around or really close to her but may not recognise her. They may have a
direct and casual conversation with her but they won' t be able to recognise her. And it will be the time
to come out, everyone will be shocked. It would be an understatement and you will say, 'how is it
possible?!' but nothing can change reality." Justin said and both the girls shared some looks.
It sounded really silly to be honest but it's not like they have anything to do at the end moment about it.
It was exciting but scary at the same time. No one would know who was who. Even the thought of it will
keep them rigid around people all night. They won't be able to enjoy the party and the consciousness
will always be there.
"Wasn't it just a party for my marking ceremony?" Athena asked while putting on the mask on her face
carefully. She couldn't understand that if they were to wear the mask in the party, why do they have to
waste so much time in makeup and all.
"The party has a lot of motive behind it." Justin said. "Okay, that sounds sketchy to me for some
reason." Patricia said after putting on her mask too.
"It might be. The real motive behind this party is the marking ceremony only. No one would snatch your
spotlight. We won't let that happen." Justin replied while bringing a black mask, a little similar to Patricia
out of nowhere. He started to put that on his face too. He was wearing a black tuxedo suit.
"What are the motives? Is it somehow related to why we are wearing masks?" Athena asked in
confusion."There are some people behind the mask who have offended him. He is going to punish them for
playing games with him in the party only. So, be aware all the time and don't talk much to anyone in the
party and don't reveal your identity at any cost. And never let that mask slip off your face." Justin
warned and they both nodded at him. "Okay, now you are prepared enough to get out of the car." He
said and came out the car to open Athena' s side of the car which was facing the entrance.
"Thankyou." She mumbled as she gave her hand to him to help her out. She walked out and stood a
little far away from the car to give space to Patricia. The three walked toward the venue with their eyes
held high.
Everyone knew that among all the people present in the room, one of them was their alpha leader and
the other one was his mate. Their scents were blocked so they couldn't recognize each other in any
way.
The hype that the people created for that reason was obvious. After all, they were excited to see whom
the moon goddess chose for their alpha leader. With each passing second, they were getting nearer to
the main entrance of the party and for some reason, Athena started getting really nervous.
When they reached the venue, Athena and Patricia gasped loudly. The ball room was so beautiful that
it was hard for them to take their eyes off it. They couldn't even recognize it. On top of that, it was
decorated with Athena's favourite flower, red roses, everywhere. The sweet smile in the air was
mesmerising her beyond limit.
She suddenly felt a really powerful eyes on her and felt a strong pull towards it, she could sense the
power, the glory that was reeking off it and she let her eyes wander around to see if she could find it or
not and realized it was impossible to find one man looking at her as every man was wearing black
tuxedo and black mask while every woman was wearing red gowns with red mask. She gave up the
search as soon as she realised that.She knew from her heart that it was none other than Dominic. But why wasn't he coming out? What did
he have in mind?
The room was huge and was so glorious that she couldn't take her eyes off it. The top of the pack
house was of the height of three floors.
Her thoughts were interrupted when she felt Patricia nudge her shoulders. She looked at Athena with
an inquisition face.
"Oh goodness, it looks so beautiful, wow. They did a great job" Patricia yelped in excitement. Right
now, Patricia looked like one of those little kids who get happy upon receiving their favourite candy. But
she was attentive enough to not to say anything which might reveal that she belonged from this pack.
The pack was surrounded with endless guards, some of the guards were glued to their positions while
some were marching around the castle. They held
determined and expressionless faces. All were well built with armed costumes. One of the guards
ushered them to come in after sharing some secret look with Justin. Patricia held Athena's hand tightly,
she could say that Patricia was very apprehensive and excited at the same time.
She felt as if she was in another world; where everything was beyond beautiful. As they walked she
couldn't help but admire each and everything. Just in front of it was a giant staircase that looked as if it
was made of pure gold, the whole hotel was polished with golden colour.
There were uniformed guards at every inch of the corner of the hotel. Dominic kept very high and strict
security.
"Oh, listen. I forgot to say something to you girls." Justin said from behind, stopping them in their
tracks."What is it?" Athena asked with a frown.
"Well, pardon me if I forgot to say this, but all the alpha of this region are invited to this party, be aware,
you might bump into DERRICK as well..." Justin said and Athena and Patricia let out a groan at the
same time. Justin let out a chuckle seeing them do that. " But you know who holds the power here so
work according to it." He said and left for some direction before getting lost in the pool of people.
They knew exactly what he meant and they were going to do exactly that. Use their power over them.
The party has started already. Some people were dancing on the dance floor. Some were gossiping
around. Some people were in the bar and snacks section. They were still standing in the same place,
looking around when someone approached them, mostly to Athena. Athena instantly recognised who it
was and was hoping that he wouldn't.
DERRICK..
"Hey, can I just say that you are the most beautiful girl present in the room?" Derrick straight came to
her and said that while taking her hand without permission and gave the back of it a kiss. It was so
sudden that she couldn't protest it.
But she noticed a weird thing. She wasn't scared of him, not that she was ever but after her last
exchange with him, she thought she would be scared of him. But rather she was disgusted by him. She
didn't flinch or show any reaction and acted totally neutral.
Patricia and Athena shared a look before looking back at him.
"How do you know that? I am wearing a mask." Athena said while changing her voice a little. She learnt
this in her previous life when she was a thief."It's the aura you are carrying, mi lady." He said in his flirtatious tone, making Athena roll her eyes at
him. "But why are you alone in this party? You should have a handsome partner like me." He said while
flexing his muscles and all. Just like previous times, he could not get over his over-obsessed self.
"Too bad that the handsome partner is blind and couldn't see me. But whatever, you might be right
when you said that she is beautiful because of her aura but she couldn't say the same because we
couldn't see your face and we don't like your aura either." Patricia replied in a sassy tone, making
Derrick glare at her. It obviously hurt her alpha ego.
But before he could say anything, his beta came and dragged him away. They couldn't understand why
he was even invited here and why did he even come here ... He obviously had a motive. Was it to take
Athena?
Athena wasn't afraid of Ace's safety because the second most trusted person was in the world.
Ace's second mother.
Suzanne. She was handling him while she prepared for the party. They will be here when the
ceremony starts. Before that it's not good for Ace to roam around and Suzanne wasn't feeling
that well. So, she took the responsibility. Athena was very grateful to her.
"You are so rebellious." Athena said to Patricia with a small chuckle.
"I have another rebellious idea." Patricia said and looked at her with mischief-ness in her eyes.
Before Athena could understand or say anything, Patricia grabbed her hand and led them on the
dance floor. Athena protested but Patricia didn't listen to her.
"Patricia, stop. For God sake! Don't do this, you're not only going to make a fool of yourself but of
mine too. And you know Dominic and your mate. These guys willAthena tried to stop her but Patricia being Patricia, didn't listen to her. They both now stood in
the middle of the ballroom where every couple was dancing with their partners, some even
randomly choosing partners to dance.
"Patricia, this isn't like a party in the club. We don't know anyone here." Athena said while
looking around cautiously, knowing very well that Dominic was around and he was looking at her.
"Exactly, Athena! We don't know anyone here! Which makes it more fun. Let's grab partners
randomly and dance. And it's going to be a lesson for Dominic. He wanted to play hide and seek,
right? Let's see how long he can play it." Just after she was done saying that, there was an
announcement from the front to grab partners randomly and get into the dancefloor.
Patricia laughed out loud after hearing that.
"Nowyou don't have any choice other than doing this. " Patricia said and Athena just frowned
which Patricia couldn't see.
Everyone was getting into the dance floor and Athena still didn't know what to do when a guy
approached Patricia. He stood in front of Patricia, as he took her hand in his and said, "May I?"
as he offered to dance with her. Patricia looked at Athena and squealed as she nodded and thus
they took off towards the dance floor, ignoring an obvious growl from Justin.
As soon as they left, another guy approached Athena and maintained a decent distance
between themselves. Athena looked at the person in front of her, his upper face was covered
with a mask so she could see a small smile which he had on his face.
"Hey, I know this is awkward but I saw you hesitating for a dance as much as I. So, I thought to
come over and ask you for a dance. So, would you like me to lead you to the dance floor?" Heasked while forwarding his hand toward her to hold it. She suddenly had this wild idea of teasing
Dominic as well and she smirked.
"Guess I don't have any options either." Saying that she was going to give him her hands when
suddenly the room went pitch black.
Before she could understand anything, someone took her forwarded hand and gave her a
sudden spin and she immediately knew who it was from the sparks. As it was already dark and
just like that, she was about to trip and fall when two heavy and strong hands grabbed her waist
and saved her from falling.
She was in a daze as she couldn't comprehend what was going around. Her breath was also
caught up in her lungs. Her eyes were tightly shut as she was waiting for the painful impact and
the pain to come.
She opened her eyes slowly and looked up only to get lost in the most beautiful looking eyes
which were looking in her. The room was now semi dark. Her head and body were in a hymn
that she couldn't get out of. The world around her stood still and all she could focus was on the
man in front of her.
"How dare you?"
