Savanna looked at Mandel and said, “Alright.”

She held Mandel in her arms and pressed her cheek against Mandel’s face. She gently stroked the tip

of Mandel’s nose, held his little hand, and entered her bedroom.

Mandel was excited. He lay on one side to give Savanna some space. He curled his lips into a smile

and put his legs crossed. “Savanna, this is the bed of your and Daddy’s. Daddy is not here. Tonight, I

will warm the bed for you on his behalf.”

Mandel turned over when Savanna was lying down. After turning off the light, he kept getting closer to

Savanna’s embrace and kissing Savanna’s neck with his lips. “Savanna, I’m so happy tonight. Tye

can’t sleep with you, but I can.”

Savanna realized that Mandel was always competing with Tye.

Savanna stroked Mandel’s hair and rubbed his ears. “Pumpkin, everyone is an independent individual.

You are smart and sensible, and Tye is also a cute boy. Both of you will have a successful life. Tye may

have something that you won’t and not have others that you will. So, don’t deliberately compare

yourself to Tye.”

Mandel thought of something and sighed. His arm around Savanna tightened.

“Okay, Savanna, I will listen to you.”

Mandel somehow couldn’t sleep well tonight. He woke up from the nightmare several times. Savanna

turned on the light and held him tightly in his arms. Feeling that he was trembling violently, Savanna

asked anxiously, “Mandel, did you have a nightmare?”

Mandel rubbed his eyes. After seeing who was next to him, he slowly moved his lips. “I saw Tracy. She

said that she was my mother. I didn’t believe her, and she cried. She cried so hard. I ran, and she

chased after me. When I fell, she came over to hug me and even touched my forehead to kiss me. I

later found out that she was dead, so I woke up in fright. Savanna, tell me, is Tracy my mother?”

Savanna didn’t intend to avoid this sensitive question.

Mandel would eventually know about this one day.

Therefore, she cleared her throat and said word by word, “Do you want the truth or a lie?”

“Of course the truth,” Mandel replied without thinking.

Savanna said, “The truth is, Tracy is your biological mother. You are the child of Tracy and Tyrell.”

After knowing the truth, Mandel got silent.

In the room, it was silent, and even a pin drop could be heard.

Mandel seemed to be struggling to accept this fact. He didn’t speak for a long time. Savanna was afraid

that he would be sad and quickly said, “Mandel, no matter who gave your birth, Brandon and

I will always love you. You will always be our eldest son.”

“If that’s the case, why did you send me away?” Mandel’s eyes blinked with tears.

Savanna said, “I’ve said that if you don’t want to leave us, I won’t send you over.”

Mandel rolled his eyes and asked, “If I don’t want to leave, are you willing to take me in?”

“Of course,” Savanna said with a smile.

Savanna thought that Mandel had made a decision. She held his cold little hand and kissed it with her

lips. “Pumpkin, don’t feel worried. Whether you leave or not, you are the child of the Cassel family.”

“The biggest child in the Cassel family.” Mandel wiped away a drop of tear from the corner of his eyes

and smiled.

Savanna suddenly laughed, “Yes, you are. Tye is the youngest child. And there is another baby in my

belly.”

Savanna didn’t want to discuss this sad story with Mandel anymore. She grabbed his little hand and

placed it on her belly. “Feel it. Your sister is kicking me.”

Mandel stayed still for a while and felt something on Savanna’s belly. His eyes shone. “She’s kicking.

Savanna, you must inform me of the day she is born. I want to be the first person to see her.”

“No problem,” Savanna replied.

“Deal.”

They hooked their pinky fingers together to make a promise.

They chatted until late at night. The next morning, Savanna was a little sleepy. Instead, Mandel got up

early. After getting up, he went to the kitchen to help Lizeth make breakfast.

Lizeth knew that Mandel would leave soon and treated him exceptionally well.

Tye felt the sad atmosphere of parting and woke up early. He walked into the kitchen and joined them

to make breakfast.

Lizeth showed the two boys how to make breakfast in the kitchen.

Mandel got up and went downstairs. Lizeth and the two boys were sitting tight in the dining room

waiting for her. Seeing her go downstairs, Mandel jumped down from the stool and reached out to hold

Savanna’s hand. “Savanna, slow down a bit.”

Mandel helped Savanna sit on the stool, took a bowl for Savanna, and also put tomato sauce on the

bread. “Savanna, take this. Your baby must be hungry.”

Tye also brought a cup of warm milk for Savanna.

Savanna sat there, glancing between Tye and Mandel. She was moved to tears.

She finally understood why parents of poor families would feel happy and worthwhile no matter how

tired and bitter their lives were as long as their children were filial.

Tye wiped away the tears on Savanna’s face with a handkerchief and made a smiling expression to

soothe her while waving to prevent her from crying.

Mandel said, “Savanna, Tye is saying that he wants you to be happy. Don’t bring bad feelings to your

baby. Just now, I told him that she is kicking your belly. Tye is happy.”

Mandel turned his head to look at Tye and said in a tone of an elder brother, “Tye, after I leave, you

have to be considerate. Now that Daddy is not here, it is very hard for Mommy to manage this family.

After the baby is born, Mommy will get more tired.”

Mandel sounded an adult.

Tye kept nodding, indicating that he would take care of Savanna and that Mandel didn’t have to worry.

Both Savanna and Lizeth were moved by the two children. Lizeth kept turning back to rub her eyes.

For the first time, Savanna hoped that time would pass more slowly.

The two adults and the two boys enjoyed their meal at the breakfast table. The atmosphere was

harmonious.

Buzz.

The phone rang.

Lizeth got the phone for Savanna from outside the kitchen.

Savanna looked at the name on the screen. When she picked up the phone, she met Mandel’s nervous

eyes.

“Hello”

“Savanna, did you tell Mandel? When can I come to pick him up?”

It was Tyrell.

Savanna covered the speaker and opened the balcony door. After going out of the room, she replied, “I

told him. Tyrell, do you want Mandel to live with you?”

Tyrell was excited when he heard this. He couldn’t wait any longer. “Of course, Savanna. He is my son.

His mother died. I have to shoulder the responsibility of being a father. I have lost him for five years. I

don’t want him to hate me when he grows up.”

“Mandel has said he is willing to go with you. Come and pick him up in an hour.”

Savanna hung up the phone and walked back to the dining table. The bread in Tye and Mandel’s bowl

was still the same as what when she left.
