Chapter 12

His bite causes my body to flood with warmth as his teeth sink. into me deeply. My

mouth waters in anticipation of tasting him as well, but first, I want to savor the burn of

desire as it seeps down into my soul and causes every nerve ending to stir to life. Only

then do I open my mouth and sink my own sharp canines into his mark. I feel his body

jerk and his cock grow even more. I know he’s about to knot me and pump me full of his

seed. The thought sends my body into a higher state of arousal and I find myself coming

for him once more.

His arms tighten around me as we drink from each other and just as I start to come back

to myself, he pounds into me even harder, and I feel it as he releases himself deep

inside of me. His climax sends me back into another one, and we ride the euphoric wave

together as one.

Enter title…

He drops down to his back and I follow, laying on top of him as we wait for his knot to

shrink. I can feel his rapid heartbeat as I press my ear to his chest and relax my body. I

enjoy laying here like this in the aftermath of our love making while our bodies are stuck

together.

“That, my Queen, was phenomenal!” Declan chuckles and rubs my back.

“You weren’t so bad yourself, Consort.” I giggle as he tickles my side as payback for the

name.

“Oh!” I can’t jerk around too much otherwise, his knot will hit against places, sending me

in another state of arousal.

“Keep still then.” He orders playfully.

Dividing into pages now

“Declan,” my mind wanders to a completely different subject, “I want, no I need to go

over my mother’s notes tomorrow. I need to learn what I can do in order to keep this

pack and our children safe.”

He kisses the top of my head, “Then let’s do that. I will be going back to Storm River for

a while again tomorrow afternoon, but we can work on your stuff in the morning.”

I nod in agreement, “Also, I think we need to talk with the Elders, now that they are our

council. I want a trial to take place for the prisoners. I don’t want to be the judge, jury,

and executioner. We should do it the way the humans do it.”

“I think that is a good idea, babe. I will send off an email to the Elders, asking them what

their thoughts are on the matter. I’m sure they will agree with you.”

“Hm, that will be the first…” I say as I begin to drift off to sleep.

“Again! You have to keep trying Quinn.” Declan encourages as I try to concentrate while

trying to light a fire, but it just isn’t working.

“Maybe I’m just trying too hard. Let’s try one of the other ones for a bit.” I say, hoping that

I get at least one other cool power aside. from reading people when it chooses to do so.

“Well, let’s just take a moment to think here,” my mate states, “What were you doing

when you used your other power yesterday morning?”

I sigh heavily, “I wasn’t doing anything except just thinking about how I needed to find out

who he was and where he came from.”

“Okay! Now we are getting somewhere! Just look at this candle and think about how you

want it lit.” He instructs.

I huff and then concentrate on the candle that we have sitting on a little makeshift table

made from an upside down recycling bin. I try closing my eyes first and when nothing

happens, I try with them. open. Frustration takes hold and I throw up my hands.

“I quit! I obviously don’t have that power, so can we move on?”

“I think you’re trying too hard, babe.” He stands with his hands on his hips, looking all hot

as hell like usual.

“How else am I supposed to do it, just say it nicely or what?” I walk up to it and bend

down in front of it, “Candle, light.” I say sweetly, and ! jump back as a flame dances to

life, “Holy shit! I did it! Oh, my Goddess…I did it!” I screech and then jump up and down.

Declan comes and picks me up, swinging me around in a circle, full of excitement,

“That’s my girl! See, I knew you could do it!”

When he sets me back down, I grab a few more candles and light. them the same way.

An idea comes to me, and I take off into the house, running straight for the fireplace,

“Fireplace, light.” A cozy fire fills the space and I laugh while clapping my hands.

“Quinn! You can’t be doing this in the house yet, especially with the kids in here!” Declan

lectures and guilt takes over.

“S*it! I didn’t think, I’m sorry!”

“It’s fine, just wait until you can control it better.”

I follow him back outside, “Okay, I want to do the other elements.”

“You’re not a f*cking witch, Quinn. Don’t say it like that, it gives me the creeps.” My big

strong mate gives a fake shiver.

Laughing, I say, “Fine, let’s try wind.

This one wasn’t as easy as the others were, once I knew how to call upon them, and at

first, I wasn’t sure if it was me or the actual breeze passing through, until I ask for a

strong wind and Declan gets knocked over by a huge gust of it. Needless to say, I had to

put a halt to that one, now that I know that I can do it. One by one, I try each of the

powers my mother listed and to both mine and Declan’s surprise, I can do them all. The

last one, healing, is my favorite. Knowing that I now have the power to help heal, just like

my mother, has me walking on air.

“It must be why you are so important, Quinn. Not only are you the last female Dire wolf,

but you have been blessed with all the powers as well.” My mate pulls me in and hugs

me tight.

“Yeah, well now I have to figure out how to use them against the Shikari when they

come. They have magic too, so it will be hard to know what power to use when.”

Declan pulls away from me and holds me by my shoulders as he looks down at me, “I

have every bit of fate that when the time. comes, you will know what to do with them.”

“Oh nice, don’t put any pressure on me or anything!” Worry takes hold because my

biggest fear is going into this war and not being able to save any of my loved ones

because I freeze up and don’t know how to use my powers.

My thoughts are interrupted by a mind link from Spencer, ‘Yes, Spence, what’s going on.’

‘Well, Doc is discharging Ledger and we are trying to figure out where to take him. If you

don’t want him at the pack house, we will understand, but know that wherever he goes,

Cici and I will go.”

I never even thought about where the hunter would go when he got discharged, ‘Give

me a moment to talk it over with Declan.’ I respond.

“What is it?” My mate asks.

“It was Spencer. He’s wanting to know where Ledger is going to stay because he’s being

discharged.”

“He can stay in the cells for all I care.” He mutters, and I slap his chest.

“Seriously! He’s our Beta’s mate, we can’t lock him up until we know more.”

“Well, he’s not staying in the pack house where our children are, that’s for sure!”

“Well, I didn’t want him at the pack house either just yet, but you could have said it a bit

nicer.” I bite my thumb nail as I think, and as always, Declan pulls my finger away from

my mouth, “Oh, I know! Cam and Veronika’s house is vacant at the moment since they

moved to the G*mma suites. They can stay there.”

“They?” He asks.

“Well, you don’t think Cici and Spencer are going to make their mate stay by himself do

you? Would you?”

He runs his hand down his face, “Fine, but I don’t like the Beta not being close. We

better figure this out soon!” I smile and give him a quick kiss. I then link my Beta, letting

him know that they can bring their mate home.

Thank you for reading! I hope you all have a fantabulous day! =)
