Chapter 1054 The Couple
Julia furrowed her brows. She was unwilling but did not want to resist Elisa's exhortation. She could not
bring herself to decline her granddaughter's request.
Elisa smiled softly. "Be a good girl, Grandma. Otherwise, I'll not visit you anymore."
"I'm always a good girl, but this checkup is unimportant. Look at me – I'm in the pink of health!" As
much as Julia would like to listen to Elisa, the reluctance in her words was unconcealable.
Elisa answered, "Let's go together then. I'll be with you throughout the entire checkup, alright?"
Gareth stood silently at the side while gazing at Elisa. He had pondered upon it while on the way here.

He was worried sick about Julia's situation but did not understand why Elisa would say such words.
"But I don't feel like going…" Unlike when she rejected Gareth resolutely, Julia started behaving like a
child in front of Elisa.
Usually, Elisa would have burst into laughter. But now, she was so worried about Julia that she was not
amused.
Squeezing a smile, she held Julia's hand and cooed, "Let's go and get yourself checked by the doctor.
We can chat on the way there. I'll stay by your side."
Gareth still did not speak up; he knew Elisa had a way of convincing Julia.
Finally, Julia sighed in resignation and hummed, "Alright, alright."
Despite being resistant, she chose to listen to Elisa.

"Okay, we can leave after you get changed." Elisa maintained a sweet smile and behaved as usual.
However, no one knew how anxious she was. Her heart was wrenched even as she hid her emotions
while accompanying Julia.
She was dying to witness Julia's actual condition during the health checkup to prove her diagnosis
wrong.
Despite knowing the chances were low, she remained hopeful.
These days had been torturing for her.
"Okay, please wait for me," Julia said and went to the dressing room.

Julia's bedroom had a separate dressing room, so Elisa and Gareth could have stayed there. However,
the two exchanged glances and walked out of the room unanimously.
Gareth stared at Elisa and asked, "What exactly is happening?"
Elisa pressed her lips and replied, "It's not a good place to speak."
She looked inside the room. Julia had not come out yet. The bedroom door was left open, so they
could see Julia's movement.
Gareth retracted his gaze from Elisa and stood aside to wait for Julia.
Despite not showing many expressions on his cold face, he was distraught too. After all, Julia was his
beloved grandmother, who had doted on him since childhood.
A few minutes later, Julia came out after dressing up. Complicated emotions arose when she glanced
at the couple at her door.
