Stay the Night
For the first time, Clayton suddenly felt like someone did not stand in opposition t o him and accused him
of being unreasonable.
This feeling was like a thin thread that was strangling his heart suddenly loosened.
Clayton had not expected to obtain Nicole’s understanding so easily.
The woman in his arms was soft and warm, bringing light into his world.
His body relaxed, but his eyes were sore and red.
The raging emotions were finally suppressed as he hugged her.
It was only for a moment.
Then, he let go
“It’s okay. I didn’t have much of a reaction before you left. The feeling only got stronger after you left.
Why don’t you stay?”
Nicole stiffened. ‘Did he mean that he wanted me to stay the night? He kissed m
wanted me to stay ught? He kissed m
e in the morning and wanted me to stay over now? Was there a relationship that progressed faster than
ours?
If Nicole had not witnessed that scene with her own eyes, she would have thought that he was making it
up.
Nicole pushed him away fiercely as her face became expressionless.
“Mr. Sloan, you’d better get some rest. I reckon it’s because of indigestion that made you react this way.”
She glared at him and turned around to leave.
He was clearly sad earlier, but he was able to become relaxed in the blink of an eye.
Clayton playfully diverted her attention.
Only when Nicole arrived downstairs did she realize that maybe Clayton deliberately made her leave
because he did not want her to be sad with him.
No one would use their mother as a joke.
Nicole cursed him in her heart and went t o take a bath with a heavy heart.
Morning
In Stanton Corporation.
The video on social media went viral, and many people in the circle had already started to reject the
Dudley family, especially Ava, who had been trying to join various circles.
Now, Ava had no chance at all.
Everyone turned their phones off at this time, including some of the high society ladies whom she had
just met before.
Nicole came out of the meeting to see Camron Dudley waiting at the door with his cane. He seemed to
have aged a lot.
Beside him stood Ava.
Ava was not wearing makeup, so she looked more haggard. The seductive color on her face was gone,
and her eyes were red and swollen as she stood there.
Nicole paused before walking over to greet Camron.
“Uncle Camron, why are you here? You didn’t let anyone inform me.”
Camron’s pale gaze was on Nicole as he smiled kindly.
“Nicole, I went to find your father yesterday, but he refused to see me. I’m guessing it’s because he
wanted me to see
you.”
Nicole smiled. “I’ll go put down my documents. You can go wait for me in my office.
