Clayton’s words burrowed into Nicole’s ears like ants, but she instantly understood what he meant.

He was right.

Just because she abided by the rules did not mean others did too.

Nicole wrinkled her brows and looked to the side, hesitating to speak.

Clayton asked, “What’s wrong?”

“Why didn’t you say so earlier?”

Nicole grumbled, but Clayton heard her clearly. He let out a low chuckle but quickly held back. “Who

knew that our Ms. Stanton is so upright?”

Although Clayton did not know much about the entertainment industry in Mediania, he was seasoned

after so long in the business world. He knew that when one reached a certain position, some things that

could not be tolerated in the eyes of others would just be harmless when done.

Although he disliked it, if doing that could benefit the interests of other aspects, he would do it.

Thus, he was surprised that Nicole did not do anything.

However, after thinking about it, it made sense. If Kai was around, he would have taken care of it for her.

It was understandable that Nicole momentarily neglected it.

Nicole’s brows were shrouded in sorrow. Clayton reached out and squeezed her hand, speaking with a

smile.

”It’s okay. The few minutes you walked down the red carpet with him is enough for him to become the

focus of today’s event. He already won.”

Nicole paused before smiling.

”That’s right. Anyway, since it’s become like this, let’s just let nature take its course.”

Clayton secretly sighed in relief when he saw her mood turn for the better.

However, his grip on her hand never loosened.

From the side, the two people sitting and laughing together really looked like a couple in love.

Nicole was bright and beautiful, and Clayton was gentle and noble. They looked so suitable for each

other.

Everyone secretly sighed. If Eric Ferguson saw this scene, it would cause another bloody storm!

They looked at the main seat. Even if Eric did not come, no one dared to sit there.

Recently, Eric had been attending fewer public events.

It was most likely because Nicole’s secret romance was too high-profile. Although Nicole did not admit it

in public, she never denied it either. It could be seen that Clayton Sloan had really grasped her heart.

Clayton said something which made Nicole turn her head and laugh. Her smile was bright and warm,

which stunned those who saw her. Before the crowd could react, they heard the host on the stage begin

to recite his speech, and their attention was finally shifted to the main event below. “For tonight’s awards,

we’ve specially invited the top twenty artists with the highest online popularity ranking to perform for

everyone. Please enjoy…” Nicole raised her brows and immediately looked down to see. All of a sudden,

the lights in the whole venue dimmed. The venue fell silent.

Three seconds later.

Suddenly, a shadow started to move around the stage, and two rows of white fog lamps suddenly lit up.

The moment it lit up, someone appeared on the stage along with the flashing lights. His steps moved to

the same rhythm as the lights lit up. It was as if in the boundless universe, only the figure of that person

on the stage could be seen in the darkness.

It was Fabian.

Fabian was a representative of the most popular newcomers. His persona had always been positive and

active. He was also liked by many seniors, audiences, and fans because of his humble attitude. With him

as the opening model, he instantly ignited the heat in the venue. Fabian wore the latest fashionable suit

and walked at the forefront with a pure feeling of youthfulness. As he walked in front, he seemed to

glance upward and saw Nicole.

Nicole did not notice that Clayton was acting weird.

She placed one hand on the railing in front of her. Her eyes were twinkling and expectant. Out of all

these familiar male artists, that model’s footwork was really impressive. He looked really pleasing to the

eye. They were not just there to show off their clothes. Each person had a different style, from their hats

and sunglasses to their scarves. There was no aesthetic fatigue at all. The first dozen people walked by

one after another, and the lights went out after the final person walked by.
