Chapter 366 A One-Sided Family

Even though they were only Alexa's adoptive parents, Terrence had no intention of changing his words.

He knew better than anyone else how important the couple was to Alexa.

Alexa and Terrence returned to the Duran's place first.

Finley woke up early. He changed into a white shirt and looked even thinner and colder.

Probably not expecting Terrence to return, Finley seemed a little surprised.

But soon, his eyes were filled with a touch of coldness.

Only when he looked at Alexa did Finley's eyes light up.

"You're back?"

"Yes." Alexa nodded and asked, "Have you eaten breakfast? Does it still hurt? Let's go to the hospital."

"It doesn't matter." Finley shook his head. "You handled it well last night. It doesn't hurt."

"Let's go to the hospital. After all, I'm not a doctor."

"You're my student," Finley suddenly said. "I believe you."

Alexa pursed her lips and subconsciously avoided Finley's gaze.

"Sit here for a while." Alexa changed the topic. "I'm going to the bathroom."

After Alexa left, Terrence took the opportunity to sit next to Finley.

The atmosphere froze for a few seconds, and in the end, Terrence spoke first.

"How long have you liked her? When did it start?"

"No," Finley answered simply. "I just treat her as a student. That's all."

"That's not what your eyes showed."

As a man, Terrence could guess what Finley was thinking.

Although he hid it well, he still gave himself away in the end.

"She is just an ordinary friend to me. That's all," Finley replied expressionlessly. "It's just that because

of her mother, I care more about her than ordinary people."

"Oh?"

Terrence's mood was complicated.

Why were there love rivals everywhere?

"What's more, didn't she already choose you?"

Terrence was sure that this was what Finley wanted to say.

"Love is not about first come, first served."

After saying that, Alexa came downstairs again.

"What are you talking about?" She asked curiously.

"Nothing."

Terrence made light of it and stood up, interlocking his fingers with Alexa's.

Finley did not look at them and sipped his tea.

"We are going to the cemetery," Alexa told Finley her plan. "Don't worry, I won't run around."

"With him by your side, I won't be worried."

Finley curved his lips, revealing a rare smile.

"Go."

"Let's have lunch together. I've asked David out. He is interested in your research field and hopes to

cooperate with you," said Terrence.

"Alright."

Finley nodded and did not refuse.

Then, he got up and sent them to the door.

Terrence was meticulous and noticed the change in Alexa's mood.

"You worried about him?"

"Of course, I'm worried," answered she. "After all, if not for me, he wouldn't

have been injured."

"Other than worrying, is there nothing else?"

"What?"

Alexa was stunned and did not react for a while.

Realizing that Terrence was always jealous, she became serious.

"Don't think about it. I have no other feelings for him."

Terrence did not comment and held Alexa's hand.

"I'm not thinking about anything."

"I just treat him as an elder."

What was more, Finley was like a serious elder to her.

He was always cold. Other than medicine, he did not seem to be interested

in anything else.

"He said that you used to be his student."

"Yes." Alexa nodded, "But I can't remember. I have almost forgotten all

about the past."

Terrence stroked Alexa's waist, and he turned the page.

He did not like to talk about other men in front of Alexa.

When they arrived at the cemetery, Terrence went to buy white calla lilies

with Alexa.

Although they had not been here for a long time, the cemetery was still clean. There were even two

bunches of fresh calla lilies in front of the

grave.

Alexa could tell that Terrence put the flowers there with just a glance.

"There are cleaners taking care of the graves," Terrence explained. "I came

here yesterday."

"Thank you."

"They're also like my parents. Why are you thanking me?"

Terrence devoutly presented the flowers to Alexa and then stood with her

for a while.

Just as they were about to leave, they saw a person that was quite

unfamiliar.

Rayan was dressed in a black and white suit with a bunch of white calla

lilies in his hand.

Thalia was with him. Today, she was dressed like a dignified girl.

After seeing them, Thalia waved and greeted them warmly.

"Alexa, Mr. Ramsey."

Alexa did not respond to her. Terrence even turned sideways to protect

Alexa behind him.

"What are you doing here?" Terrence wanted to drive them away with a cold

face. "This is not a place for you."

"My grandmother asked me to come here," Thalia explained with a smile.

"Since it is Alexa's adoptive parents, then Rayan and I should come to pay

them respect."

"Leave."

Rayan turned a deaf ear to Terrence's warning.

He slowly placed the white calla lilies in front of the grave and then

sincerely put his palms together to mourn.

Throughout the entire process, Rayan's movements were so perfect that

there was not a single flaw, but Alexa felt uncomfortable.

She always found Rayan a man of danger and hostility.

His performance was disrespectful to her adoptive parents.

"Rayan, I don't know what you mean by your actions. But I advise you not to

play these tricks. It's boring." Alexa's eyes were cold.

"Why do you always think so badly of people? I told you I mean no harm,"

Rayan said composedly.

"We know very well whether you have any malice. Unfortunately, you can't

outdo us." Terrence sneered.

"It's not good for a family to make a scene like this." Rayan looked a little

disappointed.

"A family?"

Alexa was colder than Terrence.

"A one-sided family?"

She leaned over and removed the flowers Rayan had just put down.

"If you want to game, we will be there until the end. But you'd better be able

to afford to lose." Alexa smiled brightly.

"Alexa is so fierce. Rayan, what should we do now? Alexa is angry." Thalia

fanned the flames.

After criticizing Rayan, Alexa glanced at Thalia.

"Yeah, I'm angry. What should I do? Why don't I let you disappear from my

sight?" Alexa smiled coldly.

"This is not a formal greeting. If there is a chance in the future, I will

entertain you two well."

Rayan hid his emotions and left with Thalia.

Alexa picked up the white calla lilies that she had moved away and twisted

their stems.

"Don't be angry." Terrence's tone was gentle. "I will make them disappear forever as you wished."
