Jian Yiling focused on eating.
She didn’t respond to what He Yan was saying.
Jian Yiling’s ability to focus was really good. Even in a noisy environment, she could focus on her work and not be disturbed.
He Yan became gloomy as she kept on speaking. She felt as though she was being a clown.
However, she couldn’t do anything about Jian Yiling.
After finishing dinner, everyone moved to the courtyard to drink tea together.
This was a habit of Grandpa Jian and Grandma Jian’s. Typically, when the younger generation came to visit, they would also join Grandpa and Grandma Jian.
At the same time, it was an opportunity to admire the beautiful orchids that Grandpa Jian loved.
The courtyard’s design was originally of European style. However, as Grandpa Jian loved orchids, after he had retired, he began planting orchids in the garden.
Grandpa Jian had intentionally constructed a Chinese style garden in the courtyard. The garden was not in line with the overall style of the residence. In the garden, there was mahogany furniture and a tea set. The orchids grew next to the table and bench.
“Sister Yiling, look at my hands. There is nothing here right?”
Jian Yujie showed Jian Yiling his hands.
His pair of hands were slender and elegant.
He showed Jian Yiling the front and the back of his hands. Then he turned his hands around and somehow, a red rose suddenly appeared.
Then the rose was turned around and it abruptly burst into flames. After turning his hands once more, the fire became extinguished. In its place was a small and cute unicorn keychain.
Jian Yujie handed the keychain to Jian Yiling whilst saying, “A gift for you.”
Jian Yiling took the cute and pink keychain and thanked him quietly.
Although she didn’t like this style of things, it appeared that her cousin thought that she did.
Jian Yujie showed a satisfied smile. Sister Yiling was really suited to cute things. Next time, he would buy more of these small trinkets to give to her.
Grandma Jian smiled and said, “Yujie’s hands are getting more and more skillful. He can definitely become a good magician.”
This was Jian Yujie’s hobby. He wanted to become a magician.
He had mentioned this to the family several times. Both Grandpa and Grandma Jian knew about this. They supported their grandchildren to grow in the direction they wanted.
However, He Yan did not want this. She always used the excuse that her child was still young and did not know what he wanted to do in his life as an excuse.
She constantly said that becoming a magician was only a brief period of enthusiasm for Jian Yujie. She reiterated that if he didn’t want to become a magician, he not only will have wasted time, he would also delay his studies.
Grandpa Jian turned towards Jian Yujie and said, “If you like it, you should learn more about it. After you graduate high school, I’ll ask someone to find you a good teacher.”
Jian Yujie was beaming when he heard Grandpa and Grandma Jian’s words. “Thank you, Grandpa!”
He Yan’s expression, on the other hand, was incredibly gloomy.
“Father, Mother. Yujie’s has excellent academic results. It will be a waste for him to become a magician.”
He Yan had a total of three sons. The first two refused to study finance and did not want to run a business. She couldn’t do anything about them. Those two were already in their twenties.
However, when it came to her third son, she definitely would not allow him to waste his time and do something that did not have a future.
How much money could a magician make in a year?
Grandma Jian explained, “You need not only intelligence but also spirituality to become a magician. You can’t only rely on your hands. Furthermore, his excellent academic results will act as a foundation for the future. It is not a waste.”
Grandma Jian knew what He Yan was thinking. However, it was more important for the child to do what he wants. Yujie has been wishing to become a magician for several years. It was definitely not a brief period of enthusiasm.
