And even the things that she desperately wanted were in this girl’s hands!

Lucy stared at Jian Yiling for a long time without withdrawing her eyes.

However, Jian Yiling no longer chose to pay attention to Lucy. After she finished dressing up, she turned around to leave.

And thus, Lucy watched in a daze as Jian Yiling walked away from her.

After a long pause, Lucy came back to her senses. She quickly followed Jian Yiling.

She had to figure this out. She had to figure out what Jian Yiling knew. Was it not a coincidence for the Goodman family compass to appear in Jian Yiling’s hands? Was there something else that she did not know about?

She had to figure this out!

The four of them headed to the ball site.

When they arrived, something even more unexpected appeared in front of Lucy’s eyes.

She saw a lot of familiar faces.

There were many people from the Goodman family here!

And many of these individuals from the Goodman family were more established and held more power than her!

If it weren’t for some specific reason, these people would never appear together here.

Unusually, with the exception of family gatherings, it was impossible for her to meet so many family members at once.

“Oh, you’re here Lucy?”

A bright and dazzling blonde beauty walked up to Lucy.

Similar to Lucy, she had fair skin and delicate features. This woman was even a bit taller than Lucy.

When Lucy saw the woman in front of her, her expression immediately darkened.

Her cousin Anna! The girl who was immensely favored by their family elders!

“What are you doing here?” Lucy asked. As there were cameras not far away, Lucy did not dare to show too much hostility in front of the viewers and netizens.

“Make a guess, my pathetic cousin,” Anna replied as she raised her eyebrows.

“Who is pathetic?!”Lucy growled out. She hated the look on Anna’s face.

“You don’t even know the correct way to obtain the family compass. To make matters worse, you think you can keep the family compass in your own possession. If you’re not pathetic, who is?”

This was the second time today that Lucy had heard such words.

There was apparently something about the family compass that both Jian Yiling and Anna knew, but she did not.

Lucy gritted her teeth and said: “What are you guys deliberately hiding from me?”

“Deliberately hiding from you?” Anna responded with a contemptuous and provocative expression on her face. “There’s no need for that. It’s just you and your stupid father merely do not have the right to know.”

“Anna, don’t be cocky,” Lucy coldly responded.

Lucy’s heart was filled with resentment.

She did not understand why she and her father consistently failed to get their family’s approval.

“Well, whatever. I don’t want to waste time speaking to you. I’m going to speak to Miss Jian.”

Anna turned around and elegantly walked over to Jian Yiling.

“Miss Jian, I’ve heard a lot about you. It’s an honor to meet you today,” Anna greeted with a smile on her face.

Instead of being condescending, Anna lowered her pride and spoke as though she was Jian Yiling’s acquaintance.

Anna’s status in the Goodman family was far higher than Lucy’s. As of now, Lucy was getting marginalized by her family.

“Mhmm,” Jian Yiling gave a simple nod in response.

“Miss Jian, is there anything I can do for you?” Anna asked in a sincere attitude.

“Not at the moment,” Jian Yiling answered.

“That’s alright. If you ever think of something you might need my help with, please let me know. There’s no need to be polite,” Anna responded as she handed over her business card.

Anna presented her business card with both hands. Although this was a small gesture, it made the onlookers quickly realize that Anna had a lot of respect for Jian Yiling.

“Okay,” Jian Yiling replied as she placed Anna’s business card into her own bag
