Chapter 256: Aunt Mo’s Dismissal (1)

One of Jian Yunnao’s friends spotted Jian Yiling who was seated not far away from them. He turned around and asked Jian Yunnao, “Hey Yunnao, isn’t that your sister? Do you want to go over and say hello?”

“No… No… It’s fine. She’s… She’s enjoying her meal with her friend. Let’s not go over and interrupt them.”

Jian Yunnao said this in a somewhat weak tone.

“Ahh, I see.” Jian Yunnao’s friend replied. He decided to not persist with the suggestion. However, he looked at Jian Yiling again before saying, “But Yunnao, your sister is actually quite good looking. She almost looks like a character from Japanese mangas.”

“Hey! Don’t think of any nonsense!” Jian Yunnao cried out. He immediately glared at his friend with a stern look.

“Oh… I’m just saying… There’s no intent behind my words.”

Jian Yunnao’s classmate explained in a hurry. After a moment, he couldn’t help but lament, “Ahh, you’re so worried about your sister. You must be incredibly close to her. I don’t understand why there were rumors that she had hurt you… Those rumors were so widely spread as well… How unexpected…”

Jian Yunnao lowered his head and looked at his head. “Ye… Yeah,” He stammered out.

The person who had started it all was himself.

When Jian Yunnao saw that Jian Yiling had finished her food, he took a few more bites of his lunch before he followed her.

Once he saw Jian Yiling enter her classroom, Jian Yunnao decided to return to his own classroom.

###

Mo Shiyun and Zhu Sha were having lunch together. During lunch, Zhu Sha kept talking to Mo Shiyun.

“Oh my. Jian Yiling actually didn’t push Jian Yunnao! Who would have thought? Well, I guess that’s a good thing. Jian Yunnao’s happiness comes before anything else.”

However, Mo Shiyun lowered her head and continued to eat her food. She decided not to respond to Zhu Sha.

“Oh, by the way, why aren’t you having lunch with Jian Yunnao anymore? Don’t you usually eat with him? How come you didn’t go to have lunch with him today?”

In Zhu Sha’s mind, she was still thinking about how she could use Mo Shiyun to get closer to Jian Yunnao.

Before Jian Yunnao got hospitalized, Mo Shiyun often ate lunch together with Jian Yunnao.

After Jian Yunnao got hospitalized, Mo Shiyun began to have lunch with Zhu Sha.

Mo Shiyun paused for a moment before she said, “I’m afraid that his sister won’t be happy.”

“Why do you need to care about her? She just has a bad temper! She acts as if her brother is hers or something. It’s as though she hopes that her brothers never get married!”

Zhu Sha’s eyes were filled with scorn. One could easily sense her dislike for Jian Yiling by just listening to the tone of her voice.

“Stop it. It’s not good to talk about it,” Mo Shiyun said.

“I’m not scared of her,” Zhu Sha retorted. She refused to cave in.

After a while, Zhu Sha remembered another piece of news. She quickly shared it with Mo Shiyun, “Oh, by the way, did you know that we have a new member of the Board?”

“Isn’t that quite normal?”

“It’s normal to have a new board member. However, this one is incredibly handsome!”

Zhu Sha’s expression appeared smitten. It was as though she was a love-struck fool.

“Hm…” Mo Shiyun mused. Her mind was on Qin Chuan. She had no interest in the new member of the Board.

Furthermore, members of the Board were typically quite old.

“Well, I still think that Jian Yunnao is more handsome! I hope he can recover soon. I want to hear him play the piano again!” Zhu Sha said. Whenever she spoke about Jian Yunnao, Zhu Sha’s face lit up. It was quite easy to guess what she was thinking.

“Mhmm.”

After talking with Zhu Sha for a little longer, Mo Shiyun’s mobile phone suddenly rang.

Usually, her phone was switched off during class. However, it was lunchtime right now. Thus, she had switched her phone back on.

It was her mother who was calling her.

The moment she saw the caller ID, Mo Shiyun had a bad premonition.

Her mother cared about her studies the most. She would never call her during school hours unless something important happened.

As soon as Mo Shiyun answered the call, she heard Aunt Mo’s anxious voice:

“Shiyun… I… I…”
