Chapter 1627: Ending – Gregory’s Return
Gu Mengmeng already knew that Snake was one who would give in to coax rather than coercion.
Seeing that Snake was pretending to remain prideful yet having no choice but to give in to her, Gu Mengmeng’s mood improved significantly. She tiptoed and pecked his chin, then giggled.
Snake’s face had brightened because of Gu Mengmeng’s attempt to please him, so he turned to the side graciously and said, “I have brought back your guardian beast.”

Gregory was smiling very gently. He stood at his spot without moving closer, and only looked at her with a deep gaze, saying, “I promised that I will be back, I have fulfilled that promise.”
Gu Mengmeng wanted to hug Gregory, but with Snake’s hands still on her waist, she did not dare to move and only secretly glanced at Snake.

So, what Snake meant by “thoughts that she should not have” referred to letting Gregory in the position that he had previously had?
She thought that he would say any male beasts besides him are barbarians and she should not have any contact with them.

Gu Mengmeng laughed dryly and responded, “Nothing, I just feel that your temperament has improved a lot.”
Snake gently squeezed Gu Mengmeng and said, “A person that I have exchanged with two lifetimes, how could I not treasure her? So long as you are alright, I will be fine.”
After he said that, Snake lightly pushed Gu Mengmeng into Gregory’s arms.
Gregory opened up his arms for a hug. He still did not move from his original position and received her steadily, giving her a huge hug. He said, “I have no right to snatch you away from other’s arms, so I can only wait for you at this spot. Thank you for being willing to come to my arms, thank you… for not forgetting me.”
Gu Mengmeng did not say anything and only placed both hands gently on his arms.
