Chapter 202 - Name Changing (1)

Shu Yan wanted to talk to Zhang Huaxiu privately today to discuss matters of her becoming the store manager.

She had seen all of Zhang Huaxiu’s hard work recently and she had truly improved a lot. Mainly this was not a very big shop and Zhang Huaxiu was more than ready to handle it.

“Do you think it’s too soon?” asked Zhang Huaxiu, worried.

“That just means that you have improved quickly. I wouldn’t have trusted you if you don’t have the ability to handle it. You need to be confident in yourself. Once you have become the store manager, your wage and commission will be different from before as well. Your base will be 300 yuan a month. Commission will remain at 1%, but it will be 1% of total sales. You will also get a performance bonus at the end of the year. That’s pretty much it. Do you have any other requests?”

Shu Yan was juggling a lot herself as well. She couldn’t really be completely hands off on Lao Zhang’s side; Hu Ruixue’s side might get busier toward the tail end; then there were her two children. She truly has less and less time for this shop.

Xiuxiu bit down on her lips and tried very hard to control her own emotions. She bowed and said, “Thank you for your trust, Boss. I will definitely work even harder in the future.”

Having worked there for a few months already, Zhang Huaxiu had a pretty good ideas of the amount of sales the shop did. Some 30,000 ~ 40,000 yuan on a good month and at least over 20,000 yuan on a not-so-good one. Yingying and her commission were several hundreds a month, over 300 on a good month. Not even a college student could make 700 ~ 800 yuan in wages a month.

1% of the store’s total sales? So at the very minimum her commission would be 300 yuan a month. That on top of her base salary and other supplements, she would be looking at over 1,000 yuan a month. The average monthly income in City Nan was only around 300 yuan. Making over 1,000 yuan a month felt dreamy to Zhang Huaxiu.

“There’s something else that I want to tell you. We’ve hired a couple store clerk for the shop across the street and they will intern over here first until the shop is ready. Spend some time to train them up.” Shu Yan had thought about hiring one more but, considering that they’d be over here for training for a month or two first, she decided to hire another one after these two had been trained up. She didn’t want her shop to have more workers than customers.

After filling in Zhang Huaxiu on the information of the store clerks, Shu Yan handed the matters of the training over to her. After taking care of a few of the items on her agenda, Shu Yan felt much relieved.

Over the weekend, her two children did not go to the after-school program. Shu Yan brought them over to the new house to clean up the place. She greeted Manager Wang when they walked past the sales office.

“Oh hi, Boss Shu. I was just about to go look for you,” said Manager Wang to Shu Yan.

“Why? What’s going on?” Shu Yan couldn’t think of what it could be that Manager Wang wanted to talk about.

“It has to do with household register.” Manager Wang invited them to the second floor of the sales office, poured milk for the two children and also brought them out some cakes.

At the time Shu Yan was anxious to get JingJing into school so she let Manager Wang handle matters regarding the household register once the house was paid off. She had no idea how he did it, but he was able to get them the blue household register for the time being.

A blue household register was one that was in between a temporary and a permanent household register. One that would be converted to a permanent one after some time and a review.

Manager Wang had mentioned that it would take about 6 months or so, so Shu Yan had never followed up on it.

“What is it? Is the review coming up? We failed the review?” Shu Yan frowned. Household registers weren’t as complicated as they were in the future. She wouldn’t expect any issues with that.
