Chapter 265- Shu Yan finally figured out that she was putting in good words for Feng Zeyu. (2)
Feng Zeyu could tell what was going through Shu Yan’s mind from her look. God be his witness; the chauffeur really was held up tonight.
The two had been having lunch together lately so it didn’t feel awkward to be alone.
Shu Yan normally just look for a motel to catch up on some sleep whenever she arrives at City Han and never had to worry about what to do with Feng Zeyu. He said he was going to visit Duoduo but it was now the middle of the night and Mother Duoduo was a widow. For sure he could just go over now. He would either have to rest in the car or somewhere else.
She hesitated for a little bit and asked, “Where are you going to be?”
“I’ll just stay in the car and go visit Duoduo in the morning.” Feng Zeyu opened up the car door and was about to go book a room for her.
“Do you… want to book a room for yourself as well?” She felt bad leaving him in the car when she went to sleep herself.
“Alright,” replied Feng Zeyu immediately as soon as Shu Yan asked. He had more to worry about back in City Nan but that was not the case in City Han. Just as Lao Mao had told him, if he didn’t man up soon, his wife would run off with someone else.
When the boss lady saw Feng Zeyu walking over with Shu Yan again, she gave a suggestive smile. Her look was even more suggestive after they had asked for two separate rooms. The boss lady said in a low voice, “Not bad, brother. You are progressing quickly.”
“Friends. We are just friend.” Feng Zeyu clarified quickly.
The boss lady gave him a do-you-take-me-as-a-fool look. “This sister is not blind. If this is ‘just friend’, I will devour this table. Xiao Yan stays at my place every time she comes to City Han so I know her quite well. She is no ordinary woman and has big business going. If she lets you chauffeur and stay in the same hotel, you are already half way there.”
“What are you two talking about?” asked Shu Yan as she walked over with hot water.
“Nothing. Let me take that,” said Feng Zeyu as he took the thermos from Shu Yan.
At 3 AM, Shu Yan got up quietly and got ready to go merchandizing. She saw Feng Zeyu waiting outside her door when she walked out.
“I need to go merchandizing. You don’t need to get up so early.”
“It’s fine. I can’t sleep anyway. I’ll go with you.”
Looking at the decisiveness in his eyes, Shu Yan nodded.
Feng Zeyu went inside with the crowd and, just when he was about to be pushed away by the crowd, he reached out, grabbed Shu Yan, and put her in front of him.
Shu Yan looked up at him and felt a strange sense of calm. Shu Yan suddenly realized that she was very lucky today. It seemed that nobody was fighting her over what she had her eyes set on at all during the process. She turned and noticed that all of them had been blocked by Feng Zeyu. He was stocky and, with that look of his, was quite intimidating even just standing there.
Shu Yan smiled slightly. He was probably like a god of misfortune in the eyes of the others.
She normally had to go on till 6 AM but she was done by 5 AM today. Shu Yan went over to the other shops that she always visited and placed her orders. It was barely after 6 AM when she walked out of the market.
“Let me carry some of those for you.” Feng Zeyu was carrying all of her merchandizes and wouldn’t let her touch any of them.
“It’s fine. They are not heavy.” Feng Zeyu avoided Shu Yan’s hand.
He did look like they weighted nothing to him so Shu Yan stopped fighting him over that. It was unsightly to fight in front of so many people.
“Let’s go grab some breakfast,” said Shu Yan after she had placed her stuff in the car. “Aren’t you going to visit Duoduo? Why don’t you go after breakfast? I will wait for you in the car.”
“You don’t want to go inside with me?” asked Feng Zeyu after a slight pause.
