Chapter 248 - "Give me your account number, quickly." (3)

“We lucked out. Your father was lucky and didn’t hurt anything important. The doctor said that if he had fallen a bit further back, he would have died on the scene and a bit forward, he would have been paralyzed. Now he only had a lesion on his head. There was a lot of blood but nothing serious. Don’t worry about it. I will be here. You don’t need come.”

Shu Yan let out a long sigh of relief. “Okay. Thank you.” She hesitated for a little bit and said, “Third Brother, I… want to ask for a favor. I’ll put 1,000 yuan into your account. Can you please give that to my mom? The only problem is that they will be harassing you for my whereabout going forward.”

“What kind of person do you think I am? Don’t worry. They wouldn’t dare to harass me.” Shu Jianyang’s lips curved a little. “Second Aunty and Uncle have a pretty good idea what kind of person I am. Don’t worry about me. Don’t even bother giving me money. I’ll just give it to Second Aunty for you.”

“No, you can’t do that. Give me your account number quickly. Or pretend that I have never asked.”

Shu Jianyang knew Shu Yan well and had no choice but to give her his account number.

After he hung up on the phone, Shu Jianyang went back into the patient’s room with his cellphone. Shu Youfu was lying on the bed with an oxygen tube in him and Lin Zixiang was wiping away her tears to one side.

“Second Aunty, don’t be so sad. Didn’t the doctor already said that he will be fine?” Shu Jianyang rolled his eyes a little. He knew this Second Aunty very well. She might had started crying over Second Uncle, but not she was probably crying over the money that they spent.

“How’d he be okay after bleeding so much? I told him not to go work on the roof and have our two oldest go instead but he wouldn’t listen to me and insisted on doing it himself. Had he forgotten about his own age? Did he think he was still young? Look now. He’s hurting and money was spent.” Having said that, Lin Zixiang started crying again.

Shu Jianyang almost rolled his eyes. Let the oldest and second children go? He guaranteed that even if Second Uncle had asked, Second Aunty would not let her sons go up there. She might even be the one who had him go work on the roof.

“It’s already water below the bridge. The important thing is that he is safe.” Second child and his wife arrived and asked in a low voice, “How much is the hospital bill? And how much more do we need? Do we have enough?”

“We’ve paid 2,000 yuan when we first got here. We will find out about the remainder later. Probably quite a bit more. Don’t you know how much money we have? We’ve spent them all on building houses for the three of you. How would we still have any money left? Jianyang was the one who spotted us the 2,000 yuan,” said Lin Zixiang as she glanced over at Shu Jianyang.

Everybody knew that Shu Jianyang was rich now. He could make upward of hundreds of thousands of yuan from just one project. Plus, they all felt that he received his starting capital from Shu Yan. They figured that if Shu Jianyang said to not worry about the 2,000 yuan, then they would just pretend that it didn’t happen. They waited for a while but Shu Jianyang did not say a word. Finally, Lin Zixiang said disgruntledly, “The three of you come up with the money and pay Jianyang back in a little while.”

“No rush on the money.” Before Lin Zixiang and the others became too happy, Shu Jianyang went on to say, “Tomorrow will be fine as well. I am quite lenient when it comes to relatives. If its anyone else, I’d demand them to repay me right away. When it comes to relative, however, I can wait a couple of days. I’m not too worried.”

Remembering how Shu Jianyang was like when he went to collect his debts, Lin Zixiang and the three brothers shuddered. You may not be worried but we were! Shu Jianyang didn’t care too much about whether they were families when he became violent.

“Don’t worry. We will get the money together and pay you back by tomorrow,” said Shu Jianfei, the eldest of the four children.

“Good to hear. I still have other matters to tend to. I am going to take off now that you are all here.”

Shu Jianyang swagged his way out of the hospital mentioning not one word about the 1,000 yuan. He would wait until they have paid him back first, let them stew over it for a few days, before he presented them with the money to give them a pleasant surprise.

Tsk! He was such a nice guy!
