Chapter 453 - Let’s keep this between us. (1)

After Shu Li had bought her house, she hosted a simple housewarming party, inviting not more than just Shu Yan and her family.

“Mom, is this Second Aunty’s place?” JingJing took a look and was about to say it was so small when she looked over at her Second Aunty and Niuniu and stopped herself.

When she used to go to grade school over here, her afterschool’s teachers and some of her classmates’ places were also about this size, with more people living in it. This was already quite good with just Second Aunty and her children.

“It seemed that Pingan had been getting better. What did the doctor say?” Shu Yan looked at Pingan and he looked much healthier than when he first arrived at City Nan.

“The doctor said he can stop taking medications after one more round. He might be weaker than a normal person in the future but there is nothing life-threatening.” Shu Li stroked Pingan on his head. She was the happiest learning that her son was cured. Happier than if she had bought 100 houses.

That meant he had recovered. The doctors in City Xi didn’t even know what to do with him. Shu Yan felt that his current progress had already exceeded expectations.

A child’s health was the most important thing. That was something that Shu Yan had learned after she was pregnant. She didn’t ask for her child to be smart or good looking; she only hoped that they were healthy.

As her stomach grew every day, Feng Zeyu’s look became more and more solemn. Shu Yan only found that funny.

“What is that look on you? People who didn’t know better will start worrying about me.” Shu Yan joked.

Feng Zeyu looked even more solemn. “Don’t joke about that. Both you and the child are fine.”

Feng Zeyu had done a lot of research since Shu Yan had become pregnant. He learned that pregnancy was no small feat.

They ran into a pregnant woman with complications the other day when they went in to have an examination. The entire building could hear her screaming.

Shu Yan smiled. It was nice to know that he cared so much about her. “You forgot that I’ve already given birth to two children. This is my third. It will go smoothly.”

When it was Shu Yan’s due date, she had contractions for two days and the child still did not come. Finally, when her amniotic fluid ran low, they had to switch to a cesarean section. On April 10, a 7-pound-plus baby boy was born.

“Mom, is this little brother? He’s so small,” said Tianbao softly as he carefully picked up his little brother’s little hand.

JingJing poked her head over and felt that their little brother was very ugly. And wrinkly, like the monkeys in the zoo.

Shu Yan, lying on the pillow, chuckled softly. “Yeah, this is your little brother. He was just born but he will grow up quickly. You are going to be a big brother from now on. You must protect your little brother, okay?”

“Don’t worry. I will protect little brother,” said Tianbao as he patted himself on his chest.

Shu Yan wanted to laugh but she worried about disturbing her incision. She laid on the pillow and dared not move.

Shu Yan had never given birth before, but the original owner did. It hurt when giving birth, but the recovery was also quick.

The cesarean section had spared her the pain of childbirth, but the pain after the anesthesia had subsided? Oh boy, oh boy. It was way worse than the pain of childbirth.

Her incision hurt like fire was burning when she went to the bathroom. It hurt so much that tears would stream down her cheeks.

“Walk slower,” said Feng Zeyu as he helped her inch forward.

Returning to her bed was another challenge. It hurt when she got up or laid back down. Shu Yan only wished that she didn’t have to go to the bathroom.

“I thought your expected due date was in May. How come you’ve already given birth on April 10?” Hu Ruixue was overseas this month and hurried back as soon as she got the news. “Where’s the child? Let me meet him.”
