Ian stared at Cindy for a long time before he spoke in a rather forced tone. “I was a little too rash last
night, and I should have had a little more self-control. I’ve been too emotional the past couple of days.”

solved by money? Cindy’s voice was cold when she next spoke. “I don’t need you to pay me anything.
You’ve already paid me for the deal between both of us, and we now have a regular employer-
employee relationship. I just need you to pay me the necessary amount when I quit the job.”
In other words, Cindy was still planning to leave him. Ian had never been one to keep others by his
side. Furthermore, he knew that Cindy was a decisive woman. She wouldn’t hesitate or pretend to do

locked. “What’s going on, Ian? Why did you lock the door? What happened between both of you?

Ian eventually replied to her in a deep voice. “I’m tired. I want to sleep.”
She knocked on the door and questioned him a few more times, but he no longer said anything after
that. After some contemplation, Aurora went into another room and pulled her phone out to give Cindy
a call. However, Cindy’s phone had been turned off.
