All worried and anticipating in his eyes, the little fox faces the bird immediately: “Squeak (Little Crow, are you willing to be my little wife?)

In response, Little Crow only blushed while she nodded.

As a member of the Phoenix race, it’s only normal for the girl to want to be beautiful.

Others may not know this but the poor girl definitely did. There’s been multiple occasions where she would hide alone in a corner to cry by herself over the fact that she’s not naturally born beautiful like the rest of her race.

Fortunately, she had her own knight in shining armor whenever her mood became depressed.

“If you can’t find someone to take you in the future then I will. I won’t dislike you for your appearance.” Those were the words the little guy would always say to her, giving her comfort and support until this day.

“Squeak (Little wifey hug)” Breaking out from his tearful appearance to utter joy, the little fella proudly cocks his head up like a victorious general.

It’s been a while since he last squirmed into Ling Yue’s dress after Wu Chong openly threatened him, now that he’s got a wifey to do that instead, it’s only normal that the troublemaker would jump onto the opportunity.

A while later after a bit of fun.

When Ling Yue finally came out of her pocket dimension and brought Little Crow before everyone, there were definitely a wave of astonishment among the crowd.

There’s nothing surprising about a phoenix taking human form, they’ve seen it enough times already in the past when Little Crow transformed. But what’s up with the Lolita appearance? That’s the real reason why they were all so gobsmacked at the moment.

And as an extra measure of consideration, the background story they would be using from now on would be an orphan girl adopted by Ling Yue. Towards this decision, everyone was surprisingly unified in this front.

But not everything was going perfectly smooth of course. It didn’t take long for the news of Chen Minzhi’s body disappearing from its original spot to reach their ears after a battle alchemist rushed over to report.

“The other bodies of the Kai Jiang Manor have all been cremated so there wouldn’t be any traces left to point the incident in our direction. The only strange thing is that person’s corpse being missing. I suspect some of the spirit beasts in the forest had gotten to it before us when we left the other day.” After some speculation, this was the only plausible conclusion A’bone could come up with.

Although the wild girl did question some of her animal friends to get to the bottom of this, but the answer they gave were a clear no. Nevertheless, the fact that Chen Minzhi murdered many of their comrades were a fact, it’s justifiable in everyone’s mind that the perpetrator did it out of hatred and refused to admit it.

Now, with everything done and over here with, Ling Yue figured its time she too would leave the ancient forest considering how late they were. They’re already behind on schedule due to this episode, it’s imperative her party made haste even if Jin Wu Monster and A’bone had to stay behind. But unbeknownst to the girl herself though, there were some discrepancies to that assumption.

It’s true Xia Hou Qi and his party did take the main road while her group took the off-beaten path, but no one could have foreseen a giant rainstorm delaying the main party. In the end, both groups were able to make it to their final destination of North Qing’s capital with half a month to spare before the Star Cave Venture begins.

If Da Xia’s capital were to be described as a fair maiden in a lovely township then the capital of North Qing – also known as Di Shing City – would be a nobleman’s daughter of exemplary grandeur.

“Your Highness, further up ahead is Di Shing City.” The one speaking on horseback was none other than Hong Ming Yue. Due to Luo Song’s treasured gourd being badly damaged during that fight in Underground City #9, the girl had no choice but to accompany the rest of the party using the horses. Otherwise, flying just by herself would be a great insult to not only her senior, but to the prince as well.

In response to the report, Xia Hou Qi only gave a small mumble of confirmation because he didn’t care for any of this. The only thing bothering his mind was the fact that the one person that he yearns for hadn’t been seen at all during the entire way here.

He knew Ling Yue had to return to Moon City first before riding out, that’s why he deliberately slowed down their speed along the journey. But even when they are already at North Qing’s capital the girl was nowhere to be seen. If he said he wasn’t worried and disappointed then it’s a lie.

Towards the absent-minded appearance of the boy, Princess Qing Bi would of course take notice since she’s so obsessed with him, which manifested into a deep frown on that pretty face. However, the sadness didn’t take long to leave the princess’s face when a certain carriage came into sight up ahead.

“Isn’t that the Phoenix Manor’s carriage? Could it be, Brother Feng Shen is here!”

In response to the girl’s outcry, the reaction among her party members were very different depending on who it was. The most joyful would have to be Hong Yu Ying because the only reason she begged her parents to let her join in on this venture was all because of the boy. Whatever Star Cave Venture was just an added bonus in this lovestruck girl’s eye.

As royalty and cousin’s with Qing Bi, Feng Shen’s relationship with the bratty princess would of course be decent. That’s why, when that excessively lively voice rang across the air, the boy first reaction he had was to open his resting eyes to peek out for the source.

Perhaps it’s due to the fact that he was on his own turf again, but Feng Shen’s temperament was definitely different from when he was in Da Xia. Still the same gentle smile, still the same frail looking lad, yet the aura coming off of his existence, what’s the word…. It’s oppressive and intimidating. Yes, the same kind of powerful pressure only found among kings!

“You are already a big girl Qing Bi, how can you still act like a child at your age.” Though the way the lad said it sounded friendly and kind like a doting brother, but that’s only on the surface and never reached his eyes.

Besides, the one girl that he wants to meet was nowhere to be seen still, how could he possibly be happy?

“Brother Feng Shen is still the same as before… No, you are even better looking than before. As expected of our North Qing’s number one handsome gentleman.” Towards this cousin of hers, Qing Bi was both infatuated and fearful at the same time.

Although Feng Shen was only three years older than herself, and he’s extremely favored by the king, but the princess always had this notion that she mustn’t cross him in light of never being threatened in any way. Qing Bi herself didn’t know why she thought this way either, its just the way it was since she was little and that’s how it remains even to this day.

“You are still so unobtrusive in that tongue of yours, the same as ever.” Thinking back on it, due to the management of the businesses under him and the constant visits to Da Xia, Feng Shen had just realized he hadn’t seen this cousin of his since she was ten.

Taking this all in, Xia Hou Qi remains as absent-minded as ever, just that a layer of gloom was starting to hover above that face over his rival’s appearance.

“Prince Hou Qi, everyone, it’s been a while.” Finally landing his sight on the rest, Feng Shen took the initiative to greet them all.

“Your Highness is too polite. As the master of the Phoenix Manor and the owner of so many businesses, it’s truly an honor to have you come pick us up.” Not waiting for the one who should be answering, Hong Yu Ying ran ahead of Xia Hou Qi to speak on behalf of the crowd.

That lovestruck eye said it all, she’s already lost it….

Naturally this untimely and ill-mannered action would cause some frowns, but it was Hong Ming Yue who suffered the most. It’s outright embarrassing so the ice beauty was already cursing the heck out of her dumb elder sister inside.
