Chapter 279: White Mist, Different Dimension

Being a tiger monster turned demon, Hu Yuzhen was no pushover either. A dark glint flashed in her eyes as she stood her ground. “You barbaric lion who can’t even master Transfiguration. If you weren’t guarding this gate, preventing me from entering to search for the Dharma body cultivation method, I would’ve never shown you this much respect. Now that I’ve met an expert, I don’t need your favors anymore. Teach me a lesson? I should be the one teaching you a lesson.”

Then, the two monsters fought it out.

Simultaneously, the white mist below the lion monster’s feet began to overflow, covering the entire yard. Come to think of it, it was somewhat odd. As the two monsters battled each other, not a single damage was done to the abandoned house. How remarkable. Even White Ape and the zombie cthulhu couldn’t seem to sense anything.

This white mist clearly contained supernatural powers that could divide dimensions. This seemingly plain little yard was now separated into two dimensions thanks to this mist.

Incredible.

Lin Jin was instantly intrigued.

He didn’t stop them but used his needles to sweep the mist over to White Ape and zombie cthulhu, allowing them to enter this dimension. Now, one immediately sat upright in shock while the other roared, shaking the coffin continuously.

“White Ape, carry the coffin up!” Lin Jin instructed. White Ape answered at once, “Understood!”

Then, he went over and picked up the coffin.

By now the mist had gotten thicker.

Shifting his focus back to Hu Yuzhen who was battling the lion monster, she clearly had the upper hand.

This was normal. Just as Hu Yuzhen had said, even her Transfiguration was better than the lion monster’s so her capabilities were definitely higher.

According to Lin Jin, Hu Yuzhen was at the peak of Rank 5 while the monster lion was only a Rank 4 at most. In a duel, the lion wouldn’t last.

After suffering a few slaps, the lion howling with rage. Then, he suddenly roared, “You savage tiger, I’m going to pull you all into the realm of drawings. Let’s see how you like that.”

The next instant, the mist below their feet abruptly rose, disrupting their vision of anything more than a foot away. Needles at the ready, Lin Jin got cautious. However, nothing dangerous happened afterward. Other than the mist rising, covering the skies, the other party didn’t send in reinforcements or anything.

But as the mist gradually dissipated, Lin Jin was shocked to see how his surroundings had changed.

Everywhere was still a white blur and there was a tall door before them, standing at about a hundred feet tall, almighty and majestic.

He turned to see Hu Yuzhen still engaged in battle with the lion. White Ape and the zombie cthulhu were brought in as well while Xiao Huo crouched on Lin Jin’s shoulder, staying alert.

“What is this place?” Lin Jin was dumbfounded.

His first guess was this being a spell similar to the Nebula Barrier. Some people were powerful enough to make huge transformations in a certain range, but Lin Jin knew this wasn’t a Nebula Barrier with his comprehensive understanding of the spell.

It was like they had been moved to another place.

Despite his shock and curiosity, Lin Jin was able to contain himself. He could only observe for now and refrain from making rash movements before clarifying the situation.

Meanwhile, the lion had lost and was being pressed to the ground as Hu Yuzhen rained down blows on his head.

His mighty weapon was gone and he couldn’t fight back nor get up. The angered lion kept yelling.

However, a sharp Sword Energy unexpectedly pierced through the air, aiming for Hu Yuzhen. It came too swiftly that Lin Jin couldn’t even react.

Hu Yuzhen was strong enough to evade it quickly but this, in turn, allowed the lion to escape.

“Demon, how dare you show up here with your barbaric acts!”

Followed by a scoff, another Sword Energy shot over.

This time, the Sword Energy came from above, seeming to bear the might of the heavens. No matter how strong Hu Yuzhen was, there was no place for her to run nor could she dodge it.

Due to that earlier experience, Lin Jin was able to react now. Hu Yuzhen was his slaying target so how could he let someone else slay her first? He invoked a spell and Xiao Huo abruptly leaped up. Freezing air began to gather, forming the top of an ice dome. Although it couldn’t stop the attack completely, it was able to slow it down, giving Hu Yuzhen time to escape.

Even still, the attack managed to stab through a lock of Hu Yuzhen’s hair, frightening her as she turned pale.

The Sword Energy continued down, slashing through the mist at her feet, leaning a ravine in its wake. This proved how powerful that blade attack had been.

Hu Yuzhen was scared out of her wits. She ran and hid behind Lin Jin for dear life. To her, only the equally powerful Lin Jin could protect her from this powerful enemy.

After all, if Lin Jin hadn’t taken action earlier, she would have been hacked into two.

Lin Jin wasn’t looking at Hu Yuzhen right now, nor at the lion. Instead, he was looking up. Hu Yuzhen looked up too but couldn’t see anything.

She couldn’t, but Lin Jin could.

Over a thousand feet above, there was an outline of densely packed words, floating in the air like a flock of wild geese.

It was a pity that even Lin Jin couldn’t see that far away.

However, he could be certain that those Sword Energies came from those densely packed words above.

The blade attacks stopped, but even still, Hu Yuzhen was terrified. She thought she would die back there.

The lion monster was now elated, standing up as he cursed.

Unperturbed, Lin Jin saluted him. “General Lion, my name is Lin Jin. Earlier, I heard you mention that you would pull us all into the realm of drawings. May I ask if this is the realm of drawings?”

General Lion was furious for having taken a beating from Hu Yuzhen but he wasn’t uncultured. Initially enraged, after seeing Lin Jin’s behavior, he couldn’t stay mad any longer. And seeing how noble Lin Jin was, above average even, he stopped raging as there was nothing to be angry about.

“You and this tiger are birds of the same feather, but since you’ve asked, I’ll tell you. This is the realm of drawings, created by an ancient immortal. I am the general designated by that immortal to guard these gates. If any of you act up here, you’ll be attacked by the immortal’s Sword Energy, your corpses mutilated.”

The lion looked cheeky as if he had huge backing support.

Lin Jin’s heart thumped at this. Although startled, he felt mostly joy.

With the path of immortality destroyed, immortals should have been extinct from this world. To think he would find traces of them here, and more importantly, this place was unbelievably fascinating. Those lightning-quick blades earlier were no doubt the doing of an immortal. So, didn’t this mean Lin Jin would be able to meet a genuine immortal?

As a human being, Lin Jin obviously wanted to learn all he could. If immortals truly existed, he desired to seek their guidance.

Of course, he had to explain himself too, or else the immortal might just slash him open.

Lin Jin smiled and said, “That conflict earlier was just a misunderstanding. Miss Hu isn’t here to cause trouble either. As for me, I’m willing to apologize to you on her behalf, or maybe I can apologize to the immortal personally?”

In Lin Jin’s mind, immortals definitely have profound cultivation levels and untainted minds. If he apologized sincerely, the immortal might not hold him accountable too. Moreover, all Lin Jin could do now was apologize, it was their only way out.

Also, if the immortal here insisted on slaying demons, killing Hu Yuzhen, Lin Jin wouldn’t be able to stop him. He would just have to miss out on slaying this demon himself and let the immortal have her.

For this reason, Lin Jin was able to act casually.

He had also considered the worst possible outcome, and that was to hide in the Visitation Hall. Seeing how mysterious the museum was, even a genuine immortal might not be able to sense him out.
