Chapter 337: Newcomer

Meanwhile, the one most excited was definitely Shi Wenjun.

After all, it was her pet beast who evolved.

As the most prominent family of Maple City, the Shi family naturally had a Rank 3 pet beast to guard their territory. However, as their matriarch, Shi Wenjun’s pet beast was a mere Rank 2. Although her family who supported her made no comments on this, Shi Wenjun still felt pressured by the expectation to be stronger.

Now that her white deer had evolved into Rank 3, Shi Wenjun immediately felt she could now hold her head up high.

What excited her most was the fact that Rank 3 was only the beginning.

Lin Jin had promised to promote her companion to Rank 4 in one month and from the looks of it, the feat was highly achievable. Once her pet beast was Rank 4, that would be their next greatest turning point.

Surely, after the evolution of her pet beast, the Shi family would soar to greater heights.

The excitement had her fingers trembling and Shi Wenjun had to clench her fists tightly to prevent herself from losing composure.

“Done. You’ll need some time to adapt after evolving. I can actually evolve you to Rank 4 sooner but it’s better to ensure that the foundations are sufficient for such a change.” Lin Jin patted the white deer’s head and the latter nudged its head into him affectionately.

Lin Jin turned to Shi Wenjun and asked, “Lord Shi, I’m very pleased with this mansion. Do you think I can move in today?”

“Ah, yes, of course. Chief Lin, I’ll arrange for that at once,” Shi Wenjun answered quickly, snapping out of her reverie. Even if she was trying hard to contain herself, her excitement still showed on her face. She looked like a delighted child on a Christmas morning.

Lin Jin nodded. Moving was a major task that he certainly couldn’t do that alone. Even with Shang’er and the others helping him, it never hurts to have extra hands at his disposal.

Upon hearing that Lin Jin would move in, Ye Yuzhou stepped forward and offered, “Chief Lin, moving is a huge deal. I just happen to be free so I’ll help out.”

Luo Beihe came forth quickly as well. “Since Mr. Yezhou is helping, let us help too.”

To think Maple City’s most prominent family and the top-class mentors of the Friar Association would be helping Lin Jin move into his new home.

Lin Jin smiled without rejecting their offer.

There was no disadvantage to having a lot of friends and Lin Jin wouldn’t befriend just anyone. These people here were worthy of being his friends. That included, Luo Beihe, whose personality was more dominant than Lin Jin anticipated.

Back when he first entered the Friar Association, Luo Beihe had proactively offered to help him. Huangfu Ming on the other hand, was a great friend who recommended him to the association.

Hence, if they wanted to shower him with grace, Lin Jin would accept it all and return them in due time.

This was reciprocity at work here.

Meanwhile, there was no hurry in evaluating their pet beasts because Lin Jin had already learned about them during their journey here. He had absolute confidence in his abilities.

With extra helping hands, even a troublesome matter like moving could be settled quickly.

Upon hearing they would be moving into a new house, Shang’er and Little Five were thrilled. They were particularly exhilarated when they saw the new mansion. Though, as the mover, there were things that Lin Jin had to do beforehand. He used Camouflage to hide Zombie Cthulhu’s coffin to prevent unnecessary misunderstandings.

Before dark, they had completely moved into the mansion. Lin Jin simply disposed of any scraps that he no longer needed. It was also because he had so many people’s help that the relocation ended swiftly.

After moving into his new home, Lin Jin offered to treat everyone to dinner in his new abode. The Shi family had hired chefs to purchase ingredients and to prepare a feast as quickly as they could so the group could enjoy themselves.

Halfway through, Ye Yuzhou took his leave.

Lin Jin wasn’t surprised by his departure because tonight was the reopening of the Visitation Hall. Ye Yuzhou had to return to prepare himself because if the door opened here, a huge uproar would obviously be stirred up.

Now that Lin Jin was capable of opening the door anytime he wished, he wasn’t in a hurry. After seeing the last guest off, Lin Jin had Shang’er close the door and notified her of his plans for tonight before he went to the backyard.

That’s right, this mansion had three yards and one garden so Lin Jin took the liberty to make the backyard his private territory. He even had the shadow wolf guard the gate, preventing anyone from entering.

“Bliss!” Lin Jin felt comforted by the sight of the spacious yard, clean study, and the bedroom. This yard even had a tiny pond with fish swimming in it.

It was satisfying and relaxing.

Lin Jin strolled around before unleashing his aura to open the Visitation Hall’s door and entering.

The atmosphere in the Visitation Hall was now somewhat strange.

Ye Yuzhou was the last to enter but soon as he did, he noticed the problem as well. The Visitation Hall had new guests.

He Qing, Black Crow, Jiang Ziqi, Old Tian, and Ghost Child were surveying two people with amused expressions. At the sight of Ye Yuzhou, Old Tian beckoned him over. “Old Ye, over here. Come, come.”

During their last visit, this group had somehow managed to help Old Tian’s pet beast evolve into Rank 4. Old Tian was different from when he used to be now. With significant strength, he had more confidence when he spoke.

“Old Ye, you’re here!” Black Crow greeted.

Ye Yuzhou smiled and went over. Standing on the side was one man and one woman who probably didn’t know either other. Both of them looked like they were on guard and they seemed to have come out of door number eleven and twelve.

The new male visitor looked wary but was dressed in expensive brocades. He obviously didn’t look like your average folk with most of the accessories on his body made of gold.

His aura was rather impressive as well. There was a shadow of a pet beast lurking behind him so he must have cultivated the Beastmaster Scroll before, allowing him to merge with his pet beast.

The woman seemed fairly young but was prim and proper. Her garments were plain and she looked just like a girl-next-door but seeing how well she was able to maintain her composure in such an alien environment indicated that she was no average girl too.

She had no pet beast with her nor a shadow lurking behind her. She looked too normal.

While the others were studying her, she was also studying them.

Ye Yuzhou could understand their feelings. After all, he also felt the same when he first came here, overwhelmed by confusion and shock, feeling anxious.

But that was okay. They just had to slowly get used to it.

“Great, another one! Hmph!” The guy, visitor number eleven, scoffed. He glanced around and remarked coldly, “Who sent me here? Old Fourth, is it you? Or is it Second Brother?”

Stunned, Ye Yuzhou looked to Black Crow who returned a helpless look. “We briefly explained it to them but he wouldn’t believe us so we let him be.”

On their side, Black Crow, Jiang Ziqi, and Ghost Child weren’t a talkative bunch. Although this would change once one got well acquainted with them, they wouldn’t just start conversing with strangers.

He Qing and Old Tian were communicative but now didn’t seem like a good time.

Ye Yuzhou smiled. “They’ll understand when Curator shows up later.”
